Wonderful family vacation spot!
Wonderful family vacation spot!
Our family of 7 had a wonderfully enjoyable week in the Acord's cabin! We rested, walked, visited Cherokee and Robbinsville, made s'mores in the fire pit, watched movies, and enjoyed meals together...all of this thanks to the lovely accomodations of this beautiful cabin. Everything was clean and well taken care of. There was plenty of bedding and towels. The rooms were perfectly accommodating for our large family (in fact, we had rooms to spare!). We will return!!

We had a wonderful time! The cabin has the most beautiful porch with a gorgeous view. We only used 2 bedrooms as there were only three of us. We have already talked about a return trip next year with more friends and family. I can't say enough about the porch. We grilled out every night while enjoying the evening views. Our mornings started with coffee and breakfast on the porch. It was such a nice retreat from Chicago's hustle and bustle. We trailered down our motorcycles. We found the driveway to be a slight challenge but definitely doable for experienced riders. We were so glad that we decided on renting the cabin instead of staying at Fontana Lodge. We have enjoyed Fontana Lodge in the past but the Accord's cabin was much more comfortable especially with all the rain we had. We highly recommend the Accord's cabin to families, experienced motorcyclist, and anyone wanting to enjoy the beauty of the Smoky Mountains.

First comment I must say is more beautiful than the pictures!! The view is breath taking off the wrap around deck, Lake Fontana is gorgeous. We take our daughter and two granddaughters on vacation every year after school is out. The house was well kept, clean and so inviting, you could be happy staying there without ever leaving to go sightseeing. We had a great time building a fire in the fire ring and roasting marshmallow's. Went on a train ride in Bryson City, Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, the Dinosaur Train, our oldest granddaughter knows quiet a lot about dinosaurs. The listing was accurate on describing the location, house and contents. The owner was very helpful and easy to contact, would recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation. Everyone we came in contact with during our stay were so kind and helpful.

We had a great time at the Acord home. The picture do not do the home justice. There was just my wife, my son, and myself and the home was plenty big enough for a few more. We sat on the deck overlooking Fontana Lake and played games, watched the Humming birds and cooked out on the grill. It is nice to rent a cabin that you are not looking at a bunch of other cabin. The view looks across the lake to the Smoky Mountain National Park. Just pure Gods beauty. Every thing about the cabin was great. Our family went on many excursion during the day because of the central location to so many thing in the area. I will defiantly inquire in to renting this slice of the Smoky Mountains again. I am and experienced motor cycle rider and the access rode to the cabin is very negotiable. Plenty of room in the garage for bikes. The rental agreement states no AC but this is incorrect. The home has complete central air. This property will appeal to family's, motor cycle groups, and couples looking for a quiet get away. Thanks for the wonderful family memories!

Three couples took a ten day motorcycle trip through the Smoky Mountains and three of our nights were spent at the Acord Cabin. The home is beautiful, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing at the end of a long day of riding and sightseeing. Virginia was great about being contacted and responded quickly by email or phone when needed. The price was great, especially for the amount of space and amenities they provided with the home such as parking the motorcycles in the garage, a nice grill, a smoker, wireless internet, a fire pit, comfortable beds, a finch feeder, and a lizard for deck entertainment. We only had six adults staying but this home would be perfect for a couple of families with kids who enjoy time on the lake or hiking as well as sightseeing in the mountains. We arrived just after the area had excessive rain falls and the drive was a bit wet and muddy in places, but not too difficult for experienced motorcycle riders. The bigger the bike the more difficult the drive was. However if the drive was paved and you could walk to the lake from the house it would be a perfect 10! We would highly recommend this VRBO for others and rate it as our best accommodations on the trip. Thanks to the Acords and their housekeepers for their assistance.

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. The view from the deck overlooking lake Fontana is understated. It was such a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms and home was as stated and we had no issues. We would stay here again. Thank you

About the owner: David and I own Southern Heritage Woodworks in Sylvester, Georgia. (Google us if you would like more information on our company or products.) We manufacturer flooring and furniture out of reclaimed wood salvaged from old textile mills built prior to the 1920's. We have three boys, 22, 18, and 16.
Why the Owner Chose Robbinsville:
We love to go to our cabin to relax and just get away from everyday life. We especially enjoy our time during the Fourth of July. All of our family travels up and we cook out and go boat riding, tubing and wake boarding on Fontana Lake. The water is as clear as spring water and still refreshing in July and best of all is not crowded.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We love the seclusion of our cabin. We have the privacy and tranquility of sitting on the deck, drinking our coffee and enjoying nature.
