What a great alternative to staying at a Residence Inn or other hotel! The quintessential way to stay in Seattle on a pristine houseboat in a great location. Very well equipped, the kitchen is loaded. It even has a pod coffee maker.

The Molly Brown is a wonderful place to relax! It is located in a condominium marina. You'll have a parking permit to guarantee you a parking place in the lot (quite a premium in Seattle!) and laundry facilities on the dock. There's a security code to open the gate and quiet hours overnight to guarantee you a restful night. This is a really lovely neighborhood with so much character and neighbors who are friendly and diverse!

Perfect for someone who enjoys fitness... fitness trail, bike rental is available nearby.... The Burke Gilman Fitness trail is 14 miles long and will take you past the Ballard Locks and on to Golden Gardens Park and Shilshole beach to the west, or the University of Washington and all the way to Bothell Washington to the east! Gas Works Park is a Seattle icon and just steps from the marina, it's next door neighbor. It's the perfect place to fly a kite!!

You'll find Seattle tour books, Seattle jigsaw puzzles, Sleepless in Seattle DVD aboard the Molly Brown! All things Seattle! Every guest arrives to a basket of Washington State products and tourist information. Baskets are designed with each new guest in mind, but include things such as bike maps, wines of the region, microbrews, local candies, bakery items, menus from local restaurants, coupons, walking maps, etc.!!

The high ceilings continue the cedar woodwork which covers the walls throughout the houseboat. The large ceiling fan works with a remote control, as does the electric fireplace which provides atmosphere and heat in the living room! Enjoy the deluxe mattress and luxury linens as the water gently sways the boat and rocks you to sleep.

Weekly housekeeping and linen service is available for an additional fee. Also available for an additional fee, wireless internet connection.

And, of course.... location, location, location!!! You couldn't choose a more perfect location to enjoy all that Seattle has to offer. You're minutes from Seattle Center and the Space Needle, the monorail to downtown. There's a new streetcar from South Lake Union to downtown shopping, and the underground bus tunnels.

The Fremont Outdoor Sunday Market is the best - flowers, food, collectibles, arts and crafts... And in the summer, Outdoor Cinema in Fremont every Saturday night. The marina is located right next to GasWorks Park, which is THE place to fly a kite or enjoy some awesome views of the lake!

The geese and ducks come to visit you at your front deck. This is the ultimate Seattle experience, and for less than a hotel room! Lucky you!!

Why the Owner Chose Lake Union

I thought that it would be a wonderful idea for a visitor to be able to live aboard as opposed to staying in a Residence Inn or other short term rental. And I LOVE the marina in which the Molly Brown is moored. It's quaint and loaded with liveaboards. It's wonderful people and this way, I get to be a part of it! The location is ideal for so many who come to Seattle for a long visit. Some need to be near one of the hospitals, some close to the University of Washington or Seattle Pacific University, and many come for business or to visit relatives. The location is near Fremont and Wallingford which boast great restaurants and much more!

The Unique Benefits at this House Boat

This is a perfect spot for those who want to be active. There is a 17 mile fitness trail, a bike rental shop nearby, the water and all the water sports that allows. It's also a quiet residential marina with wonderful folks living there, ready to help should you need it. And I am, I must say, a terrific host, as I live nearby and can be contacted quickly, and I'm always looking for more Seattle info, puzzles, DVDs, and products to add to the Molly Brown. You won't be disappointed.

Fremont (aka funky Fremont)

Great shopping, ethnic restaurants, night spots, and the best year-round sunday market in Seattle.

B

University of Washington and the UW Medical Center is close by and right on the Burke Gilman fitness trail

Built for the 1962 World's Fair, Seattle Center is one of the cultural hubs of Seattle. Here you'll find 4 live theaters, year round festivals, EMP (Experience Music Project), SFM (Science Fiction Mu

D

If you need more than one kayak, or want to rent bikes for your stay, they're very nearby.

F
Fluff and Fold laundry service

You have washers and dryers in the cabana - about 100 feet from the houseboat, but if you'd rather be on vacation and have your laundry done for you, you'll want to use this - close by and with great

G
Essential Baking Company

I short walk up the hill takes you to one of Seattle's finest bakeries, a favorite with Seattle natives, and right in your "backyard".

Owner's Map of Lake Union

I lived in a houseboat on Lake Union for five years, having just recently moved to the land for the time being to be near a grandchild : ) and I enjoy renting the Molly Brown to those coming into town needing a furnished cozy spot on the water. I love being a host, and designing a basket of local products and info specifically for each renter aboard the house barge. It's also been fun to outfit the houseboat with all things Seattle.
