The best beaches in Maui are just a short walk from the complex, however the unit is calm and peaceful even on the busiest beach days. This is the place our family goes to enjoy a quiet and relaxing vacation within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping and of course the beach.
The kitchen and bathroom feature granite counter tops and new cabinets installed in 2006 along with all new updated furnishings in the living and bedroom areas. The unit features a master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a Murphy bed in the living room, comfortably sleeping a total of 4 people.

A friend of mine recommended this unit to my husband and I for our stay on the Islands last summer. Just as she had experienced, the place was clean, well maintained, and excellently located. Great restaurants, shopping and, of course, amazing beaches are all within walking distance. I also liked the fact that even though the unit is a part of a complex, you still have a great sense of privacy and quiet. The owners were also very friendly and easy to reach. I will definitely be returning here again!

The entry door lock was cool you just punch in a code and the door unlocks, how cool is that, don't have to worry about losing the key, what could go wrong with that? Our last day we spent at the beach came back hosed off all the beach stuff and carried it up to the condo, punched in the code, THE DOOR DIDN"T UNLOCK! All our contact imformation was on the other side of the door. I went to the Maui Vista office and all the regular staff had gone home, a lady gave me several phone numbers to call and none of them had anything to do with our condo. She then found a number for the woman on Maui that was suppose to look after the condo. I went back to the condo where my handcapped wife was still waiting and we called the lady several times and all we got was an answer machine, we left our cell number, she still hasn't returned my call. Back to the office, lady then came up with some numbers to contact the owner, 2nd number he answered, he gave me a code that worked. After all that hassle we were behind schedule and didn't make to the luau we had tickets for and were in a bad mood, not the way we wanted to end our vacation. OK now for the condo, it was OK except the bedroom celling, it didn't get painted during the remodeling and looked like something was growing on it. The radio in bedroom didn't work: the batteries in the TV remote were dead even after new ones it didn't work very good; after 10 days of looking we never found the coffee maker: the washer still had a very loud thumping sound (this was mentioned by a previous reviewer and still hadn't been fixed). The ants didn't bother me, I had seen a lot worse when I was in Nam. One other thing I know it's a little pickey but the knifes were so dull they couldn't cut through the Jimmy Dean Sausage wrapper, really I'm not kidding.

We lived in Hawaii back in the '60s & '70s when there were far less people. Maui Vista is a huge 3 building complex, but this unit, 3rd floor, one from the end of a wing in the building farthest from Kihei Road is very quiet and faces a row of lovely palm trees. With the solid concrete construction and toward- the-ocean orientation, it feels as if you're the only ones having breakfast (or lunch or dinner) on the lanai. It's an easy walk to Charley Young/Kam I beach, one of the best Kihei beaches for enjoyment of the ocean. There are showers and restrooms at the far end from Maui Vista (Kam I) and a shower and giant porta-potty at Charley Young across the road from Maui Vista. Both ends have parking lots should you prefer to drive. Many very good restaurants nearby and a large shopping mall with a huge Safeway is about an 8-minute drive if eating-in is your pleasure. Nice flat-top electric stove for cooking, good refrigerator (but I missed my bottom freezer-no bending one at home) and ample cabinet space for storage. Many extra small appliances, even a rice cooker, make preparation of any foods easy. Bed is comfortable, dresser and closet space adequate. Ceiling fans and the trade winds keep the unit cool. Never used the A/C the entire month of November. August might be a different story. I needed internet access and the promise of a local wi-fi hookup did not materialize. A call to the phone company first about DSL possibilities, then to the owner resulted in the next day arrival of a modem plus availability of free long-distance calling. That's good customer service!! The in-house stackable washer/dryer was most convenient. Unfortunately, the washer seemed to be out of level resulting in some pretty noisy thumping during some cycles. All kinds of beach and water stuff is provided. All-in-all, one our best "return-to-Paradise' experiences we highly recommend.
