Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2008

My wife and I have lived in Denver since 1982. Our family, including our two daughters, have owned a condo in this development for 17 years. My daughters grew up vacationing in this development. Our family routinely uses this condominium.

Why the Owner Chose Carbondale

We purchased a condo at the Ranch at Roaring Fork because it has all the outdoor activities we love and it is considered to have the best flyfishing in the Aspen Valley. We also love to ski Aspen and it takes 25 minutes is all to drive there. Our daughters love the Ranch--it is a great family getaway. Additionally, we love to sit on the patio overlooking the pond and enjoy the solitude and wildlife.

The Unique Benefits of this Condo

25 minutes from world class skiing, extraordinary flyfishing, tennis, golf, biking--all on the property.

A Fishing Fanatic's Find!

Guest: Brooktrout (Johnson City, TN/USA)
Date of Stay: 09/10/11 Review Submitted: 10/05/11

This property provided us a wonderful vacation spot that stood up to the promise of great fishing. The creeks on the property were so well maintained and full of healthy trout. The Roaring Fork River runs by the boundary and there are also several ponds. The condo itself was very nice with a great layout for private sleeping areas. It was well furnished, equipped, and clean. The owners seemed to take good care of the property and the grounds were immaculate. Bird watchers would be in heaven and you could even play a few holes of golf if you had the time. Carbondale is a good area, close to Glenwood Springs and Aspen. We have stayed in this area many times before but not in a place that actually lived up to its promises. This place did and we hope to return!

Perfect weekend stay!

Guest: Jean (Denver)
Date of Stay: 09/23/11 Review Submitted: 09/28/11

Our weekend stay at this condo was nothing short of spectacular! It was very, very clean, comfortable, quiet, and in a perfect location. The neighors are friendly and it has everything you need. My friend and I stayed for three nights and wanted to stay for another week! We were so close to everything that we could hike the Maroon Bells, bike on the Rio Grande Trail along the Roaring Fork River, bike the canyon near Glenwood Springs, relax in the hot springs and go out for a great dinner in Aspen. The best part was taking a fly fishing lesson in the Frying Pan River through Taylor Creek Fly Shop in Basalt - just up the road a bit. We've already planned our next trip to include the things we just couldn't squeeze in - jeep tour, hot air balloon ride, drive up Independence Pass, ride horses and play golf and/or tennis. If you're looking for somewhere in the perfect location that is priced just right with endless activities to choose from, this is it. You can't go wrong.

Had a terrific visit as always. I couldn't keep the fish off my hook. It rained on and off on Tuesday and the brown trout went nuts. We really enjoy our time at your spot and now I'm hooked. I hope you're doing well and maybe we can arrange another visit later in the year.

Just wanted to let you know we again enjoyed the use of your condo. We will be signing up again next year. We left early Friday morning when it was fifty degrees. Got home and it was 107 degrees. Today in Eastern Kansas it is 106. I hope your cleaners found everything in order at the condo. It was a pleasure meeting you and getting to put a face wih the phone voice. Have a good year.

We had a wonderful time at the condo, and Pete asked me to report that the fishing was fabulous. He and James (our son in law) found all kinds of action in the bushes along the Roaring Fork (which was in very high flood state), and in one of the new streams close to where it joins with the Fork. They report on the last full day we were there (Saturday) they caught between 30 and 40 fish in a 4 hour period. . . . judged to be fabulous. You have a wonderful property, and we would like to visit again in the future. We will be in touch, perhaps for some time in the fall. If you would like us to be references for others who are looking to rent, we would be happy to (as long as they aren't looking at time we might like to be there). Let us know if we can help.

John, had a great stay. Condo was roomy and nice. Once again the fishing was unbelievable. On a week where the entire valley was unfishable the Ranch stood out as unique. Caddis hatch at 6:00 PM was unbelievable! Would have played the par 3 but the fishing was too good break away. Hope to see you again in the fall. Thanks again for all your hospitality. SJ

Wonderful Mountain Get-away

Guest: Matt (Aurora)
Date of Stay: 06/12/11 Review Submitted: 06/21/11

My wife and I recently spent four nights at this condo and had a wonderful time. Our favorite part of the stay was sitting out on the back patio, enjoying the amazing views of the pond, beautiful vistas and Mt. Sopris. One evening, we even spotted a bald eagle soaring above looking for dinner. We found the condo to be well-equipped, very clean and spacious. The master bedroom's king bed was comfortable, with views of the pond and mountains. I especially appreciated the condo's access to the internet and cable TV. The par 3 golf course and tennis courts are within walking distance and my wife and I were impressed with how well maintained they were. We also enjoyed our afternoon walks on the property's many walking trails to and from the nearby Roaring Fork and local streams. The condo is perfectly located within a short drive to nearby Carbondale, Aspen and Marble/Redstone. The highlight of the trip may have been the 4x4 jeep tour we took from Marble up to Crystal City and the Crystal Mill. Simply spectacular. I would highly recommend staying in this condo if you are looking for a mountain vacation that will include everything Colorado has to offer.

Simply Outstanding

Guest: Dan J. (Colorado)
Date of Stay: 03/31/11 Review Submitted: 04/11/11

I highly recommend this property. The accomodations were spacious, comfortable, meticulously clean and charming. The property is located right on a small lake with great views of the mountains; and it is just a short walk to lakes, streams and the Roaring Fork River. All of the fishing is world class, well maintained and uncrowded. We vacationed with young children (ages 2 thru 9), and they had a fantastic time romping through the fields, catching trout and exploring the ranch. The property is also just a short scenic drive to Aspen or Snowmass, with all of the festivals, skiing, hiking and outdoor activities that abound there. An absolutely fanastic place to vacation.
