Thank you for considering Loon's Bay Cabin for your Northwoods retreat. We are located just 4 miles north of the quaint and popular northwoods town of Boulder Junction, WI. The cabin is on Big Kitten Lake which is part of the beautiful 360 acre Wildcat Lake chain. The cabin is available for rent by the week during the summer and nightly during Spring, Fall, and Winter. The cabin can accommodate up to 10 people.
The cabin is perfect for those who want to get away from it all and desire a quiet and peaceful Northwoods experience. We are situated among towering pines and are less than 100 feet from the water. There are very pretty views of the lake and of the unspoiled Northern Highland State Forest land that surrounds Big Kitten Lake.
With 4 bedrooms and 2 baths the cabin can accommodate 8-10 people and is spacious enough for two families of 4. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need and there is a large dining table for gatherings. The living room is done in Knotty Pine and has vaulted ceilings with 2 large patio doors going out to the deck. There is a small rec room downstairs for the kids to hang out. We have 2 TV’s with DVD/VCR for movie watching. We DO NOT have Cable TV or WiFi. There is also a foosball table, darts, and video games.
We have 2 acres and over 200 feet of heavily wooded frontage that offers privacy that is hard to beat. Wildcat Lake is one of the best lakes around for seeing wildlife and it is truly a nature lovers paradise. Loon’s, eagles, herons, hummingbirds, pileated woodpeckers, deer, beaver, and otters are common sightings.
Wildcat Lake and Big Kitten Lake are rated as “ Class A” Musky water so there are great fishing opportunities here. Walleye, bass, and panfish are also common. We provide a 16’ aluminum fishing boat, 2 canoes, and life jackets.
Relax on the deck, take a refreshing swim, catch fish right off our pier, try your luck at hooking up with a Musky, explore the lake for wildlife, take a canoe paddle at dawn, or go for a bike ride on the best trail in Wisconsin which starts right in Boulder Junction. In winter you can go cross-country skiing on some of the best trails in the state, or just cozy up to the fireplace.
If you love an outdoor lifestyle and want a quiet and peaceful place in the Northwoods that feels like your own, Loon's Bay Cabin is a great choice.

We had an excellent time at Loon's Bay Cabin on Wildcat Lake. The accomadations were clean and very modern. Plenty of room for teenagers in the lower level with their own recreation area. Also a row boat and canoe for the teens was very handy. Excellent location to town. We were able to put several musky, a 32" northern, and a monster 15 1/4" crappie in the boat during our stay. I would highly recommend this for a family get away.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Charming rustic cabin, nothing too fancy, on a beautiful fishing lake. Nestled within the cabin's of Wildcat Lodge, the environment was secluded but not isolating. Never an issue with privacy. The lake (Big Kitten) has great variety despite it's small size. We only left once for the "big" lake. The cabin itself had plenty of space for two families, easily accomodating 10 people (4 bunk beds downstairs in one bedroom). No mold smell! Dehumidifier downstairs runs when needed. Big plus, the downstairs bedrooms stay 10 degrees cooler for great sleeping when the weather turns hot. We had a cold snap drop temps into the 60s (daytime) during the week so even the upstairs bedrooms were cold at night. Being from Florida we loved it! The pier was exactly the right place fou our 4 year old grandaughter to catch bluegill one after another all day long! Despite the cold snap we still caught a couple of nice keeper northern pike and a great largemouth in the evening all within 200 yards frm the pier. We know the area well so we fished other lakes also to round out our catches. I'm sure if we stayed longer than a week we could have scouted out other areas. I do recommend you bring a trolling motor and battery to make using the provided 16' Lund more enjoyable. We will Nnext time. Paul Zoske was very friendly, professional and forthcoming and every was exactly as advertized. No cigarette smoke smell, clean, hot water, toilets worked, appliances all worked and all the utensils you basically need. No issues with neighbors. Overall, we had a great Northwoods experince. Thanks, Paul!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our family stayed at this nice cabin in May 2010. We were familiar with the area and were looking for a nice cabin close to a private lake where we fish. The owner did a good job outlining all the amenities and what we were responisible to bring. The photos and description were accurately relective of the cabin and surroundings. The cabin was clean and well supplied. We brought our own extra supplies, but the cabin was fairly well stocked with the basic needs. The area was relativley quiet and a nice view and access of the lake. The trees provided nice shade for the warm days. We did not venture on to this lake, but the boys had fun fishing off of the private dock. The downstairs was nice and cool, but the stairs are a little challenging for anyone with knee/hip problems. Bedrooms up on the main floor work fine for anyone not able to negotiate the steep wispiral staricase. The deck is great for grilling out and enjoying the view. Overall a very nice cabin and property and we look forward to visitng it again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.
