Cloud 9-Mountain Views/Hot Tub, Biltmore Christmas Tickets
Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose Asheville
I DIDN'T buy this property, it is my family home to share with you. I refurbished the mountain top Cloud 9 Relaxation Home for groups up to 8 and built Heavenly Hideaway, a cozy cabin, for couples, too. Both have hot tubs on an open deck under the stars. Just 8 miles from I-40, you can be at the Biltmore Estate, Grove Park Inn, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, and the waterfalls of Dupont State Forest in minutes. Quiet and private.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Asheville is just 15 minutes away for great day excursions, especially to the Biltmore Estate, but vacation renters find that they never really have to leave the farm because there is enough to do right here; hiking, enjoying the valley pond area, picking blueberries in July,or just sitting on the huge deck (or in the hot-tub)over-looking the mountains and relaxing. The layout of Cloud 9 is very outside friendly with sliding glass doors in every room to open and get that fresh mountain air. Views, views, views! Come see for yourself!
2 acres of Blueberries in June, July and the first part of August. Renters pick for free!
Quick and easy stop if you want to "cocoon" at Cloud 9 Farm.
Located in the valley farm 1/2 miles away, not close to the house at all, don't worry. Purchase honey in season from Cloud 9 's pollination helpers.
5 miles away but on your way back from Asheville. Great wine selection, too. CVS Drugstore is next to it.
Just 11 miles away, the Biltmore Estate is an unbelieveable private "castle" estate...a must-see.
Dress up and go to see this historic 1911 Inn/ 4 star resort, sit on the sunset veranda for a meal or grab a rocking chair in front of the huge fireplace with your favorite drink. Act like you own the
My favorite micro-brewery pub and movie place. Shiva IPA beer rocks!
A psychodelic restaurant. Pretend you're back in the 70s and order a delish Calzone or pizza surrounded by brightly painted polka-dotted mushrooms.
Southern food...and talk about a hoppin' place with live music on a Saturday Night...whoooooeeee!
go to romanticasheville.com to see a video of this unique amateur event. You can bring your percussion instrument to join in, or dance, or just watch the freaky people like I do!
Micro brewing at it's best. Have you tried the Highland Gaelic Ales made here?
In the quaint Biltmore village with lots of unique gift shops to spend the day browsing. New Morning Gallery and Corner Kitchen are my favorites. Try the creamed grits!
Great movie showing all the cool places on the Blue Ridge Parkway so you can decide where to go. Huge computer graphic on the wall lets you travel the whole length of the Parkway.
Mountain crafts and demonstrations. It's my favorite place to take out-of-towners.
An elevator right through the verical shaft of rock leads you through the gift shop, of course, the a short walk up to the top of the chimney, stacked rocks with a flag pole. Still a little scary even
Book the lake tour with dinner on the boat. Or go to the beach on the lake. Better yet, have your own private beach at Perterson Pond right on Cloud 9 Farm.
Full of unique, crafty shops (knitters: the yarn shop is superb) and eclectic eating cubby holes. a great place to be on a rainy day because it's an historic 1920 indoor shopping "mall" building compl

Oh,yes, sweet...a new HDTV. I hope the baby could sleep with the surround sound turned up like your husband likes it. LOL It was fun seeing your 2 year old's reaction to the chickens and cows. I think she liked the baby chicks the best...and roasting marshmallows by the fire. Hope to see you again soon.

NOTE FROM JANET:Glad you liked the golf challenge of Reems Creek Golfcourse in Weaverville. It's one of many incredible courses in WNC. Did you hear about the Tiger Woods course being developed right here in Fairview?

We had such a wonderful time here with our friends who are moving away...one last trip together before they go...4 adults and 6 kids. Feeding the cows, chickens and gathering eggs are all memories we will treasure. The photo op on top of the bales of hay might just be our Christmas card! Thanks for making it all easy and comfortable. NOTE FROM JANET; You are two amazing families, so prepared for travel with kids, so quick to make it educational for them with the outdoor nature walks, and yet I couldn't even tell 10 of you had been here, you left Cloud 9 so neat. Thanks1

We loved Cloud 9. Our stay here was completly made comfortable by your attention to detail. Everything was where we expected it to be. The views were fantastic and the kids had a blast. We hiked, we roasted hot dogs at the fire pit and were amazed by the fact that we saw wild turkeys. Thanks for the eggs.We are spoiled now. We would love to come back. PS Thanks a lot for teaching me about honey bees and exploring the hives. I did a science project on them. From Nick, age 12 NOTE FROM JANET: What fun you had to plan this trip with another family...childhood friends with kids the same age! Your late March visit gave you beautiful, sunny weather. I always have fun with having kids on the farm to explore the simple life. They enjoyed tagging along with me at "chore time;" gathering eggs, moving the cattle to another pasture, feeding them, feeding the fish in the pond...

Thanks so much for your wonderful home. It took us back to our Arkansas roots-feeding chickens, the cattle, garden, etc. gone are the days like that for us but our daughter just loved the sight seeing with the short trip to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Thanks for the delicious eggs for breakfast. Hope we get to come back again. NOTE FROM JANET; Your May visit had perfect weather for lots of deck sitting and excursions. People ask why we don't have a screened in porch on the deck and the answer is...it would obstruct the view, the feeling of being in the "Land-of-the-Sky" and we DON'T have bugs to bother you.

It is surely Cloud 9 all and more than one might expect. My grandson's high school graduation was enhance with the natural beauty highlighted here. Thanks for letting us have the graduation party here with plenty of room for family and friends to spread out. I like the swings. Luke, 6 years old My favorite thing was the air-hockey table. Also, I didn't get in the hot-tub. I loved looking outside at the great view. Lindsey, age 9 NOTE FROM JANET; That's what Cloud 9 is best at, giving you and your families a place to join together. Looks like you saved a lot of money, too, by "catering" it yourselves. Cloud 9 kitchen is easy to use to cook for large groups.
