  We stayed at Ilikai #1436 for 5 nights. The value and quality of this condo are excellent. The condo was clean and adequate for our use. Everything we needed was there. The owners stock shampoo, conditioner, soap, dishwashing liquid, dishwashing tablets even some detergents for the washer down the hall. When we rented other condos in the past we supplied our own. There are lots closet hangars for your clothes. Bathroom towels are soft and well-stocked in the linen closet. Wood floor is nice and clean, as well as the kitchen. The unit stays cool even in the afternoon if you keep the lanai blinds on the bedroom side closed. We did not visit the shops or use the pool & fitness room. Overall we are very happy that we chose this condo.

  Well appointed, very comfortable and well situated with great ocean views. Enjoyed the fireworks at our level, however the Hilton Luau became a little tedious after a few days. Fortunately it finished by 8pm. Major bus and trolley stop just outside the Ilikai. Comfortable walking distance to Ala Moana shopping centre or into Waikiki main shopping area. Plenty of restaurants close by.

  We are extremely happy with our stay! This is our first experience with VRBO and I have to admit, we were not sure how it would go, however, based on previous reviews of this particular unit, we booked it and are very happy. The amenities were great! The accommodations were clean, comfortable and had all of the comforts of home. We were able to make great use of the kitchen on a daily basis and the price was right! The owners provided some great beach chairs and toys and we spent a lot of time at the beach using these amenities! The view is beautiful and the location is within walking distance to so many things it was super convenient! Great place for a family with 2 young children. We did not get to meet the owners but they were fantastic with their correspondence and checked in with us by telephone. Highly recommended vacation rental!

  The condo was exactly as it was represented. Small but had everything we needed. Very clean! And a view to die for! Added bonus was that it was so quiet at night you would have thought you were in your own private house. Phi was great to work with, THANKYOU!

  ALOHA! This condo should not have a 5-star rating ----- it should have a 5-star +++ rating!!! What an absolutely wonderful week we spent in this fabulous condo! It was perfect! When looking for a place to stay, they say that a picture is worth a thousand words and in this case, what we saw on this site was exactly what found in this unit. Even the bellman who delivered our luggage on the day of our arrival, stopped for a moment at the door and commented: "Wow! This is one of the nicest condos I've seen in the building!" Now that says a lot! Having spent some time in California with friends, then a week cruising the Hawaiian islands, we were anxious to set temporary roots and enjoy the surroundings in Waikiki. First and foremost, the photos included in the description are exactly what is included in the condo - no surprises. Second, it was very clean, which was much appreciated as we had not been as lucky elsewhere earlier in our journey. Third, and most important in our opinion, the owner met us on the day of our arrival and was always available to answer our questions or respond to our needs. (Thanks Phi!) The balcony/lanai was the perfect place to just sit back, relax and enjoy the view of the Ocean as well as the luau happening just across the way at the Hilton on a nightly basis and the fireworks display on the beach every Friday night. Everything is in walking distance (shopping, entertainment, etc.) and the Hilton lagoon & the beach were only steps away. Reasonably priced trolleys or buses were frequently available just outside the Illikai if we wanted to venture further out making a car rental unnecessary. We could be whisked away and enjoy the ride! In conclusion, if you're reading this and other reviews, you've come to the right place! So book it as soon as possible and you will not be disappointed! :-) MAHALO to Phi and Shinomi!

  Twenty-four trips to Hawaii and FINALLY a condo (& condo owner) that gave us a better than expected stay! Everything was perfect - ocean & fireworks view, furniture, kitchen appliances, comfortable bed, beach equipment, etc. We're definitely returning and would be more than happy for Phi to give our name and phone number to anyone interested in his #1436 codo.   We were lucky to find a four day block within the calendar availability during the time we needed in Waikiki to celebrate my birthday. The Condo.....It was perfect. Clean and spacious. Well stocked with anything you would need to cook meals. Shower was also spacious. The bed was oh so comfy. The layout of the unit is well thought out. Walls are sound proof....never heard any neighbour's noises from within walls. The Lanai......Oh wow. Spacious and the view, I even got up in the middle of the night to just sit and watch the full moon over the towers. You might too be hypnotized by the breath taking views day and night. On our last day, I woke up early telling my husband I want to be on the lanai for as long as I can to enjoy the very last bit of our time. There is only a short time that the lanai is quite warm and that was just before and after lunch otherwise the shade is comfortable. Oh and the Hilton's Luau that we could see from the deck was a gift in itself. The Location......I walked (okay I walk fast) within 5 minutes to Ala Moana Mall. Only around 15 min to Duke's where we had my birthday dinner (fun/atmosphere). Quick walk to The Shorebird where you BBQ your own steak. Also attending a local theatre production but some people might prefer a taxi. A CAGE OF FIREFLIES. Kumu Kahua Theatre 46 Merchant St Honolulu in the old Post Office. So much to do within walking distance. Don't get me started on this most beautiful swimming beach! The owner......we met Phi the day after we arrived. Thanks Phi for allowing us the pleasure to stay in your vacation rental. We really appreciate your advice about returning the rental car. It was so much fun to walk around without the hassle and expensive of where/how much to pay for parking. We saved money returning the car and had a delightful ride with a taxi driver who contracts out to Charleys taxi. Flat rate $29.95 plus tip. Drive arrived right on the requested time. The only negative thing about the condo is how far it is away from where we live! I would love to return. I can see why so many people truly love this condo.

  We stayed 2 weeks at this property at The Ilikai. Our experience with the owners was superb. There were no surprises, gotchas or anything untoward...totally an honest and class approach. We will stay at this condo again soon. Their condo is clean and exceedingly livable, with a great shower, comfortable bed, stocked kitchen, new widescreen TV and great view from its location. We enjoyed every minute we were there. Again, the pictures and description are accurate and honest. Tough to beat for the money. Lastly, if you can find a better place than The Ilikai to enjoy Waikiki, then you have a scoop. As far as we're concerned there is no better place than The Ilikai due to its central location (no car needed), access to several beaches (1 minute walk), places to eat and shop as well as take beautiful beach walks in Alamoana Beach Park. The only downside: this place rents fast and way in advance. I can see why!

  My husband and I and our 2 kids had an amazing 1 month stay at this condo. The condo has everything you can possibly need and the great ocean view to top it off. Phi was really accommodating with any of our requests. Can't wait to go back.

  This is a tough review. The toughest review I've ever written. All I can come up with are positive comments, nary a single negative. Everything was perfect. Everything represented in the owners' description and all the photographs were 100% accurate. Our expectations were exceeded on every level. That being said, here are some specifics. For openers, the owner met us upon our arrival at the Ilikai and showed us where everything was located in the unit, then gave us our own push button door lock code. No worry about losing keys or cards. Nice personal touch. As we unpacked, the air conditioner cooled things down quickly. We found a tremendous amount of hanging and drawer storage for all our clothes and "stuff". Far more than we needed. Unpacking took longer than expected because the view from the balcony kept distracting us. The pictures do not do this view justice. The kitchen is complete down to the last detail, including a dishwasher and a corkscrew! The free wireless Internet service and the free local and long distance phone service was another plus. Having a casual restaurant/bar on site was a huge convenience. Even a happy hour with $4.00 drinks. The casual restaurant sits overlooking the marina and the ocean. There's also a an upscale restaurant on the top floor overlooking the city and the ocean. Also a well supplied convenience store is on premises, and two ABC stores are only a few minutes' walk. The Ilikai's location made it unnecessary for us to rent a car. Most Waikiki activities, shopping, restaurants, clubs, and shows were easily within walking distance, even for a guy who hates to walk!. The public transportation system is outstanding with bus stops right in front of the hotel. Taxi fares seems very reasonable and a cab is usually waiting at the front door. There was rarely more than a one minute wait for an elevator, unlike many resorts where we've stayed in the past. Bellman service both in and out were efficient and friendly. On our departure, the bell captain said he would be up for our luggage at 9:45 AM. He was there exactly at 9:45 and even tracked down our shuttle ride which was running a bit late. The weekly fireworks that are set off every Friday by the Hilton next door were awesome. We had never been this close to a display. (See what I mean about no negatives?) Should we ever return to Oahu, there is no doubt where we'll stay.
