Waiaka Homestead is a unique and charming Historic Hawaiian style home which was originally built in the late 1800's by "seaman" Samuel Lindsey for his lovely Hawaiian bride. This home has been the heart of many extended family gatherings and retreats due to it's extensive and diverse layout. While in the cooler rolling hills of South Kohala on the Big Island of Hawaii it is only approximately 15 minutes drive to the most beautiful beaches on the Big Island. Kamuela is in the center between Hawi, Hilo and Kona which allows guests a wide range of activities from star gazing at the summit of Mauna Kea, snorkling and diving off the Kona coast, and horseback riding in the Kohala Mountains.
This home is divided into 4 different suites which allows us to customize it to fit your needs. The entire house could sleep up to 15 people with ease, or, we can separate it to accommodate fewer people with everyone having a private entrance, bathroom, and kitchen (or kitchenette). There are wonderful restaurants and shops within 5 minutes of this property which is surrounded by 100 year old Ylang Ylang, Kukui, Koaia, Silver Oak, and Rose Apple trees. It offers a truly magical experience of "Old Hawaii" at it's very best! |
