Spinnaker Cove is a five-bedroom, two bath, vacation, rental home available for weekly or weekend stays. Six to twelve guests can stay comfortably in four queen beds and four twins.

Owned by our family since 1980, Spinnaker Cove features many wonderful amenities including a spacious living area, a full kitchen with dishwasher, and two large decks, one outside the back door and one by the beach. Just across the backyard is the private, 75-foot, stone, swimming beach with a portable dock suitable for fishing, swimming, or tying up small boats during the day. While water shoes are recommended for wading and swimming, the stone beaches in Door County have had far cleaner water than the sand beaches in recent years.

Located on the north edge of Sister Bay, Spinnaker Cove is within a mile of Door County's best restaurants, including Al Johnson's, The Waterfront, The Mission Grille, and JJ's La Puerta. Downtown Sister Bay, with its shopping and large marina, is only a ten-minute walk from the doorstep. Within a five mile drive is Door County's best shopping, stretching from downtown Sister Bay to Water Street in Ephraim. You can even purchase your morning latte at the Base Camp Coffee Bar directly across the street from the house!

Because a number of families return to Spinnaker Cove year after year, early reservations are highly recommended.

Exceeded Expectations for Illinois Family

Date of Stay: 08/06/11 Review Submitted: 08/28/11

Our family (eight people, three generations) rented Spinnaker Cove for a week in August. This was our first time renting a vacation home. The house and beachfront were as advertised and even nicer than the listing photos. Everything was clean, pleasantly decorated, and well maintained. The toughest thing we had to do each morning was deciding how we were going to relax that day. We loved sitting on the dock to watch the sunset. Definitely bring a camera. The neighborhood is quiet, even though just a fifteen-minute walk takes you to the public park and marina - and Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant. The house is on a main thoroughfare, but north of the house the auto traffic drops off considerably. My son and daughter-in-law found some enjoyable routes for running and biking in that direction. Many kitchen tools were provided - we'll leave a lot more things at home next time. The local Piggly Wiggly supermarket and farmers' markets provided the rest. For $35 we bought a state park annual pass, which paid for itself after four visits to Peninsula State Park (nice family beach and hiking trails). We also went mini-golfing, shopping, and play-watching (American Folklore Theater in Peninsula State Park). At the Old Post Office fish boil, we were given a long list of free area activities. The Door County Bakery has fabulous artisan bread, and the quirky Spike O'Dell's Coffee Cup Museum is in the back there (free!). We'll never forget the fun we had on our Door County vacation. Before leaving, our whole family voted to rent Spinnaker Cove again. We did a good clean-up before we left and got our deposit back within two weeks. If you decide to reserve a week, do it soon, because their calendar fills fast!
