Open floor plan log cabin with loft
Escape to our beautiful mountain cabin situated right between the town of Black Mountain and Bat Cave, just 30 minutes from Asheville, 15 minutes from Chimney Rock, and 25 minutes from Lake Lure. You'll be surrounded by nature but not too far from anywhere while you're at our home. Our 800sq ft open floor plan cabin includes a queen sized bed, two twin beds (bunked), a futon, a full-sized couch, and a hammock. Air mattress are available upon request. Dogs are welcome, too!
We built our home two and a half years ago after dreaming of living in a cabin in the mountains. We don't have internet or cable available for guests, but there is cell service for most carriers, though generally you have to sit on the porch in order to make phone calls! We can give you hiking recommendations, point you in the direction of our watering holes, and direct you to anything you need in town.
Feel free to use the entire house, porch, and yard! We have a large DVD and board game collection which guests are welcome to. Guests are also welcome to use any gaming systems in the house, or to use our fire pit and enjoy a bonfire at night!

About Jessica Langston
Welcome to our home, and our lives! I'm a counselor and my husband, Matt, is a musician. We've been married for almost seven years, and we love the quiet, peaceful life of mountain living! We've been in Black Mountain for 13 years. We love hiking, swimming, board games, Halo firefights, our two crazy dogs, and our amazing friends and families. We think we have an awesome life, and we want to share it with you!
Jessica Langston purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Jessica Langston chose Broad River
We have a beautiful "secret" three tiered waterfall and swimming hole near the house. We'll leave you directions in case you want to check it out. It's a bit off the beaten trail, but it's definitely worth seeing while you're on Route 9! Off the mountain, you have access to all that Asheville and the surrounding area has to offer, including stunning mountain views, hiking, waterfalls, rivers, and lakes (we love nature). Asheville also has great shopping in downtown and at the Outlet Mall. Visit the Biltmore house or the Pinball Museum. And, of course, don't miss out on the great food and endless different breweries. We can give you some great recommendations if you don't know where to start :)
What makes this Cabin unique
We are neighbors with The Light Center, which hosts a variety of workshops, a light chamber, a pond, and several hiking trails among other things. You can't see The Light Center from our house, but if you turn left out of the driveway, it is the first turn on your right.

Perfect way to unplug
This is an outstanding cabin with owners that obviously have given a lot of thought to the needs of their guests. Place was clean and cozy. Remote location is perfect...close enough to the downtown of Black mountain and Asheville but removed enough to be secluded and reconnect with the family. Awesome DVD Collection and even better record collection. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. My kids loved it and so did the family dog.
Perfect getaway spot
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend just getting unplugged and enjoying quiet time at this fantastic little cabin. The location is just beautiful and has everything you need inside! We can't wait to return...maybe with some snow next time😀
The cabin was in a great location near Black mountain, chimney Rock, and mount Mitchell state park.
Jessica the owner was extremely helpful and left a hand written note with local drinks and snacks. That was a very nice gesture and we really enjoyed staying at her home. Will definitely rebook in the future!
Personalized and perfect
The owners go out of their way to put a personal touch on your stay. This was such a cute cabin! We didn’t realize there was no cable but they had plenty of DVDs + WiFi if you bring something to watch Netflix. We had a great getaway.
We are located rurally, in the mountains between Black Mountain town and Bat Cave, NC. There is everything you need in Black Mountain, and it's just a short drive to Asheville!
