Mountain Woods Getaway is a scenic mountain retreat located at the end of a gravel road, approximately 1 mile off of a major asphalt road. There is a small low-water stream crossing about half way up the mountain. The house is located at the top of the road on 10 acres of private property, surrounded by hundreds of acres of natural woodland. 4-wheel drive is nice, but not necessary, except during large winter snowstorms. Most cars do fine unless they are extremely low riding. The house is a manufactured home built in 1997. It has had upgrades to both bathrooms as well a kitchen island/bar constructed of logs cut and hewn from trees on the property. There are many trails on the property for hiking and a small stream runs through the property. The master bedroom has a king bed, dresser, nightstands and large walk-in closet. The second bedroom has a queen bed, night stand and walk-in closet. The third bedroom has an extra-long twin bed, night stand, dresser, and walk-in closet. There is room for a blow-up mattress, which is provided, for use in the third bedroom. The home has a wood burning fireplace and logs for burning are provided in the wood shed out back. The living room has a large leather couch, suitable for one person to sleep on. A TV and Blu-ray DVD player are in the living room. There is no cable or internet, so the TV only receives a few local stations, with quality of reception dependent on the weather. Cell phone reception is fairly good, with some carriers being better than others. The large deck on the back of the house is perfect for relaxing and it overlooks the large fire pit area. The woodland setting is perfect for getting back to nature and getting away from it all. You will have the feeling of being hidden away from the rest of the world, but you are only about 10-15 minutes from grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, and local attractions.

About Tom and Kathy Brinton
Kathy grew up in Florida, but often camped in North Carolina with her family during the summer. She had also camped and hiked part of the Appalachian Trail with the Girl Scouts. Tom was born in Arkansas, but grew up in Colorado where he enjoyed camping, hiking, and snow skiing. During our two boys childhoods we rented various vacation homes in the mountains of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee in order to give them some of the same wonderful mountain woods experiences we had grown up with. When the opportunity arose, we purchased this property as our own mountain retreat.
Tom and Kathy Brinton purchased this House in 2008
Why Tom and Kathy Brinton chose Hendersonville
We chose this property as a vacation home for its beautiful mountain setting and location.

Family Thanksgiving in the mountains! We all had a very relaxing and wonderful time! Property was great for us. Not fancy but very homey. No complaints here. Hope to return soon and are considering making it a family Thanksgiving tradition!
Great secluded beautiful area
Wonderful home that had everything you need and more.Great fireplace too! It is a rather secluded area up a long gravel drive and through a creek, however, 3 women in a Subaru did just fine. Will go back again! Hosts were very accessible and prompt to respond, as well.
Great place, driveway was a bit tricky
We really enjoyed staying in the house and it was perfect for what we were looking for. The fire pit out back was a hit, and we used it every night, and the bedrooms were cozy. The only issue we had was that the driveway was really long, and a bit rough, and was not suitable for my boyfriend's car, so I think the VRBO description needs to be a bit more clear on this gravel driveway.
Thanks for your review Diana. We enjoyed having you as a guest. We were so sorry your boyfriend had trouble with his BMW on Ebb Ida Lane. We tried to be accurate in our description of the road and stream crossing, but will add something more to include low riding cars.
