About Shelly Grant

Our family operated the resort that this cabin is a part of since 1976. The other cabins were sold to seperate owners in 2001. Dad operates this cabin with the help of his adult children and their families.

Why Shelly Grant chose Traverse City

We did not need to take a vacation because we were living at the best vacation spot in the world. Our family memories of growing up on the lake, playing in the water, singing songs around the campfire and watersking are special times we hope to pass on to other families.

What makes this cabin unique

One of our many favorite things to do at our cabin is sit in the hot tub after a dip in the lake and watch the sun set. Going on little adventures to the sand dunes, Lake Michigan or canoeing down local rivers are treasured memories to our families.

Beautiful setting, close to Sutton’s Bay and Traverse City. Great place to getaway. Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We chose this place due the setting with serene lake, bonfire and hot tub. It comfortably slept 8, and can sleep up to 10. We were surprised how big the home actually is. Perfect for our ladies weekend! Shelly was so easy to work with, very responsive. A pleasant experience all around.

Great property, nice view, cute cottage

  • 4 of 5

Our group stayed the weekend of October 12-15th for a low key bachelorette party. Plenty of room to sleep for our 6 girls!

The hot tub was amazing!

I would only caution on a couple of things which did not get in the way of our stay as we are not picky...

1. Bring bottled water and gallons of water. We had bottles only which worked fine but the sulfur in the water is pretty intense.

2. The oven would not fully heat up for us so we were creative with our cooking strategies.

3. The coffee maker was a bit slow so I would start brewing your coffee about 30 or more minutes before you want to drink it. Or go north on Lake Leelanau Rd to 204 and get fresh brewed. It’s only a few minutes away.

4. The fridge seal seems like it doesn’t shut but it does... just keep your food to the front as the food we had in the far back got pretty frosty.

As I said- these things did not interfere with the great fun had this weekend. Would definitely recommend.

Clean, roomy, great view

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub! Large, open living and dining area, with main bath near bedrooms (each with door for privacy).

Kitchen well stocked with large toaster, coffee pot, stove, kitchen towels, and dishes.

The resort was safe and well lighted-probably would have liked a little more light blockage for bedroom windows.

Very nice stay!

Beautiful cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing cabin! We went up for a girls weekend and it was everything we hoped for. The wineries are very close and a very beautiful, I would highly recommend visiting Suttons Bay Ciders. The view from the cabin is amazing. We had 7 people and there was plenty of room. The hot tub and fire pit were an added bonus. I do not think you will find a cabin like this anywhere in the area. There was some construction going on, so we did have to take a detour but it only added an extra 5 minutes. The only negatitve that I could possibly find is I don't think it would hurt to supply bed sheets. Overall, thank you for making our trip so wonderful!!!

Very pleasant stay

  • 4 of 5

My family really enjoyed the space of the cottage and the awesome view of the lake! We also loved our nightly time in the hot tub.

The refrigerator door had a real hard time closing and keeping items cold. Also, it would be nice to have known to bring drinking water. The water contains a lot of iron and smell.
