Sea Shore Living

This is what you come to the Cape for. Water, Sand, Life, and Location!!! -the excitement of waking up each day 50 feet away from “Little Beach”. Just step off your deck and walk the sand across South Beach to Atlantic breakers and Cape Code National Seashore or relax at the water’s edge of Nantucket Sound, just outside your front door. Our one level, two-bedroom condo is at beach level, and has a generous great room with glass on three sides, looking out to 180 degree water views, an open island kitchen, two generous bedrooms, and two tiled baths. It has been completely refinished and is newly furnished. One of the three living room couches pulls out and sleeps two. Outside is a brick patio with picnic table and gas grill. Located right next to Outermost Marina, Monomoy Island, South Beach and Chatham Harbor, these waters boast the best fishing on the Cape Bring. Bring your rods, your clam basket, your own kayak or boat.. This is a wonderful spot for active families and especially for children. It’s beach is very protected, and Chatham Light house, and Main Street, Chatham are a ten minute walk.

Cape Cod Activities:

For a more thorough listing of Cape Cod and Chatham activities, make sure you stop by the Visitors Center on Main Street in Chatham Center.

Play-A-Round Playground

The residents of Chatham built this magnificent playground - one of the largest in the northeast. It’s a multi-level, wooden structure that includes a handicap area and a fenced tot area. The playground is located adjacent to Veterans Field on Depot Road.

Band Concerts

Every Friday evening at 8:00 pm from July 3 to September 4 Chatham hosts a fantastic band concert in Kate Gould Park on Main Street in Chatham. As many as six thousand people attend these concerts, and it will be one of the highlights of your summer in Chatham. There will be musical numbers by the band, folk dances for the children, dance numbers for grown-ups and community singing for everyone. Members of the colorfully uniformed forty-piece band live in Chatham and the surrounding towns. Do not miss these concerts. They’re great fun!

About The Owner

Bonnie and John are a couple who retired to the Cape from Burlington, Vermont, and m, Bonnie is a retired fashion designer who enjoys the challenge of creating imaginative, fun interiors as much as she did fashions. John is a retired architect/developer, who owned a design/build business in Northern Vermont for almost 50 years. For all but 1 year, John has served as president of the condominium association in which beach townhome is located. They have personally managed this property ever since purchase, and refurnished and upgraded most of the interior, including central AC, all finishes, and remodeling of the baths and kitchen. They have had the same housekeeper clean weekly ever since we purchased, and in fact, she cleaned it for 10 years prior for the previous owner. Bonnie and John live only 10 minutes from our waterfront townhome in North Chatham, and have been able to keep a close watch on the property. This has made it possible to respond quickly and positively to our customers when problems have arisen.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2006

Why The Owner chose Cape Cod

We purchased our townhome on the most miserable day imaginable, having headed out for a beach walk on a cold fall day, and getting blasted by sand blown by a 50 mph wind. On giving up and heading back to where we had parked, we noticed a for sale sign outside the unit. We got a showing, and realized that although the unit needed much in the way of physical improvements that the setting of it was irreplaceable and unique. The rentals and the delight to both us and our customers confirmed that our decision was a good one.

What makes this condo unique

No location in Chatham combines the view and activity features possible from a stay at our beach townhome. The recreational and water activities possible are absolutely unique.

If your goal is just to relax and unwind, the elevated deck off the Living/Dining, with table and chairs for 6, private shell patio facing Nantucket Sound, and large brick patio to the west for cookouts and gatherings are perfect vehicles to accomplish just that. Watching the boating, clamming, and fishing in Nantucket Sound from those relaxing confines while not expending an ounce of energy may be just what the doctor ordered. Sometimes it's good for the soul to watch somebody else do the hard work! During a week's stay it's possible to see an amazing spectrum of wildlife, including seals, foxes, and deer, every kind of shorebird and migratory bird imaginable, and all sorts of sea life. As the tide goes out on the flats in front of our place, all sorts of shore birds appear to feast on shellfish and sea worms.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The property was located in a secluded semi-private area. The condo was clean and private with everything we needed for our home away from home. We will definitely stay there again...the view is unbelievable - you have to see it for yourself. We loved the condo. I hated to leave, and we really enjoyed our stay. The only negative thing I can find to say was our stay wasn't long enough.

Beautiful View!

  • 5 of 5

The location of this condo is amazing... water views on 3 sides and easy to walk out the front door onto various paths on the beach. The owners were attentive during our stay and we found the condo to be very clean and comfortable.

beach escape

  • 5 of 5

The condo exceeded our expectations-clean, well equipped, pretty, and, most important, beautifully located. Views from almost every window of the little beach and the harbor. Every morning we sat on the porch and watched the birds, the boats, and, as the tide went out, the clam diggers. It was lovely and peaceful. We hope to return one day.

Loved this home. Very clean and well maintained. Views from the living room, dining and kitchen were amazing at any time of day or night. Very quiet and peaceful beach. Enjoyed the privacy, long beach walks and solitude. I would highly recommend this home.

What A Beautiful Spot!

  • 5 of 5

What this unit lacks in overall esthetic, it more than makes up for in charm and location. The fact that it is at the end of the building provides a feeling of privacy and a view that can't be beat. We so enjoyed walking down to the marina at the dead end, along the marsh trails, and kayaking across the inlet to what felt like our own private stretch of beach - gorgeous! The unit itself was tastefully decorated and provided any and all amenities that we could want or need, including beach chairs and towels. This really helped with keeping the packing to a minimum! We had as many as 7 people stay overnight very comfortably and also had the luck of the upstairs unit remaining unoccupied most of the week. But even when someone arrived for the last few days of our stay, all we heard was some floor creaking here and there. Bonnie was super helpful and responsive and if I wasn't getting a new dog, I would definitely rent this again next Summer. This is a very special place!

We stayed a week here at Starfish. It was wonderful. Besides there being many activities close by, it was nice to just chill at "home". Very comfortable, quiet, and homey. Lots of natural light and windows facing the beach. It was our first experience of Cape Cod an we would definetly return! Highly recommend Starfish.

Starfish Condo

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a one week stay at this wonderful condo. Loved the fact that it was off the beaten path and very quiet. The condo was very clean and comfortable. The king size bed was soooo comfy and we both slept quite well. The water is right in front of the condo and we loved watching the tides come in and go out and then could explore the sea creatures and shells that were left behind. A great place to observe birds. I could sit on the sofa with my binoculars and watch a large variety of shore birds. Walked to the ocean and found a pristine beach with miles to walk. The owners were excellent to deal with and gave us great tips on where to eat. We would come back here in a heartbeat.

This is the place for families, kayakers and nature lovers. It's beach is very protected, a large play field is just next door. The waters around our location are some of the most interesting on the Cape, consequently its' beaches and water teem with fish, animal and bird life. The tip of South Beach has the largest concentration of Grey and Monk seals on the east coast numbering in the thousands. Chatham's bird life attracts naturalists from all over the world. For salt water kayakers these waters are fascinating and you can go clamming on the beach right outside our door.

Other Activities: whale watching, bird watching on the Cape Cod National Sea Shore, seal watching, art galleries, live theater and band concerts in the park
