Absolutely Beautiful, Amazing vacation on Lake Glenville!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 2 grandparents, 2 adult children and their spouses and 4 grands ages 5 through 10 spent the week at Katie's Cove June 4-10. We loved every single day and night there. The house was very clean, comfortable and lovely for such a large group. Each family had their own "space" . The house is big enough so everyone had their own baths and lovely bedrooms. The beds were very comfortable with all linens being fresh, wonderful and a gracious plenty, even for the lake! The kitchen was super large and just great for lots of fun cooking and being together. It was supplied with everything we needed from linens to all sorts of grill ware and cookware. We absolutely loved the house and it's coziness. However, it still had large beautiful spaces to relax and enjoy our whole group. My grands danced with the big life sized fury black bear every night! The lake was as advertised...prestine, secluded and beautiful. We rented a pontoon for 2 days from Signal Point Marina and could not have been more impressed with their service and our beautiful boat. It was expensive to rent but it really was one of the highlights of our trip and we so enjoyed exploring the 3 famous waterfalls and islands on Lake Glenville. The children loved tubing for the first time...even our 5 year old with his mother! Our 10 year old grandson especially loved tubing, the canoe and kayaks provided with the house. Everybody fished off the dock everyday with great luck. The house is equipped with all sizes of life preservers. Our family had a wonderful time and would love to go back next summer. The only problem we had was the fridge door wouldn't shut on its own. So we all reminded each other to check the fridge door and be sure it was closed. It would have been really nice to have had a larger fridge for our size group or a second fridge as we had taken enough food for the week . No one wanted to go down the mountain to eat out at night. So we had to use our coolers to keep some things cold. But we managed and really enjoyed the large kitchen. The views from the house were unforgettable, the front porches just as wonderful as the pictures show. I enjoyed working with the owner, Susan, she was very kind and helpful at all times. Many Thanks to them for renting us their very special property. Pam , Charleston, S.C.

We just returned from our stay at Katie Camp, and this was by far, the very best VRBO property I have ever found. The house, the property (right on the lake), the furnishings - everything was absolutely top notch. No attention to detail was spared and everyone in our group (5 couples) was very comfortable and extremely happy with our time here. This is not your average vacation rental - it's more like being invited to a friend's gorgeous vacation home! The décor is beautiful and the property, both inside and out, is incredibly well maintained. The home is right on the lake and we enjoyed the beautiful view from inside the house and outside on the great porches. The house was spotless - linens, towels, all bedding was very good quality and clean and fresh. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could need or want. Appliances and dishware are all in great condition and the kitchen is set up to cook and serve a group with ease. This is a large and spacious house with plenty of room for everyone to be together or to have privacy if desired. There are 2 living areas - one upstairs and one downstairs, as well as plenty of spaces outdoors that make for an abundance of places to relax and enjoy the scenery. The owner had great communication prior to our booking the property and she sent a nice package with brochures and maps and details about the area which was very much appreciated. It was a perfect home for our group and I would highly recommend Katie Camp! We absolutely loved it!

We spent Thanksgiving 2016 here. We had an amazing time. The kids loved the kayaks and canoes. The view was breathtaking. We went horse back riding ad hiking to high falls. My husband and brother kept the fire going in the fire place the whole stay! The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The only problem we had was the GPS did not work! Be sure you have a map!!! Especially if it's your first time. We learned our way around pretty quickly. Cashiers is a cute little town nearby and we had a great pizza dinner at Slabtown Pizza. Great get away!

Wonderful Glenville Lake home!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing! The home was very nice! It was everything we had hoped for.

The owner, Susan Caples is very detail oriented and you could tell just as you walked into the home. Upstairs is the main entry with a large living room, gourmet kitchen and a very spacious foyer. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms share a bathroom.

Downstairs, there are two more bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is also a very nice living room downstairs with a game table and doors that go out to the back looking out onto Lake Glenville. The downstairs foyer, which leads out to the lake is amazing in itself. There are kayak's to use, a canoe and a sail boat! Plenty of fishing poles and life jackets are also available to use. We rented a pontune boat from Signal Ridge Marina one day and were able to park it at their dock. There is also a flag pole, which we raised a flag every day since it was labor day weekend. Great time had! Fabulous house and very hospitable owners! We will definitely go back!

Car: necessary

There are wonderful antique stores to shop and browse both in Cashiers and Highlands. This area has some of the most spectacular waterfalls east of the Mississippi river.

The eastern continental divide comes thru Cashiers providing us with a rainforest effect and giving the foliage plenty of moisture to be healthy and vibrant in color.

Lake Glenville is a beautiful lake to stay on and play on and in.

We have many adventurous activities from hiking, white water rafting or kayaking, horseback riding, zip line for everyone, golf, tennis, boating or just relaxing and enjoying the scenic views. Come join us on the lake.
