About Colleen Erickson
This historic log home has been in the FORD family since the 80's. It was completely remodeled in 2011 & 2012.
Why Colleen Erickson chose East Glacier Park
This property offers a corner lot that has no neighbors to the south or east except the golfers and the bears. Smile. There is a wonderful view out each window and easy walking distance to everything you would need...restaurants, art galleries, store. Cook in the gourmet kitchen or BBQ on the lovely covered porch after a day of enjoying what Glacier has to offer.

It is a beautifully renovated and maintained home.
The house located just behind the East Glacier Lodge, is is perfectly situated to take advantage of all that Glacier National Park and its surroundings have to offer. The former Candy Kitchen for the Lodge and Great Northern Railroad,I believe, it has been beautifully renovated to capture the character of the time with all of the amenities of today. It is very well appointed from kitchen to the bathrooms. Colleen Erickson is wonderful and very helpful. We had a large extended family group of all ages and everyone wants to know when we are going back! A true vacation escape in a stunning setting.
It was our pleasure! Your family was awesome (Nora's favorite word) and we look forward to your return! Thank you for your kind words!
Awesome place to stay!
We loved Connie! The house was awesome I would recommend staying here to everyone.
Beautiful and special home!
The Candy Kitchen is undeniably a very special place to stay. The home has been refurbished and the quality updates are plentiful! We were of group of friends (3 couples) meeting at Glacier National Park and it was just perfect for us...a cozy back porch where we spent a lot of time visiting and enjoying the beautiful view, lovely, comfortable bedrooms, and a great kitchen to cook in and chat. The towels (there were many!) were soft and luxurious and I loved the shower head in the bathroom we used (it was a double shower head, with one that detaches). The kitchen was so well stocked as was the large laundry room. And I have to mention that this home was incredibly clean...one of the cleanest homes we have ever rented. Colleen was so sweet and helpful in providing lots of information about the home and the area. It was such a joy to talk with her during the planning of our trip. This is definitely one of my favorite places we've rented and I would highly recommend The Candy Kitchen to anyone looking for a quality home with a beautiful view!
Beautiful! And within walking distance to Glacier Lodge and restaurants!
This place is absolutely gorgeous.. with a beautiful history as well! Colleen was extremely helpful and friendly from the very first email and up to and including our visit. (Thank you Colleen!). The kitchen is very well stocked and orderly... It was very, very, very clean... (thanks Pierre!) Loved the little "niceties" which included a bottle of wine and Dr. Teals soap in the bathrooms! I cannot think of anything that was missed in this beautiful home. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for all your kind words. It was our pleasure to host your wonderful family! No referee needed there. Smile! We look forward to seeing you again for future vacations.
Lovely place and hostess. It is nicely laid out and was well-appointed.
Five of us had plenty of room to spread out. Colleen was very gracious and inviting. I would certainly stay here again!
Made reservations before we left - changed our tradition of try8ing new places! Cannot be beat!
Historic, newly remodeled, luxurious, spotlessly clean, incredible views, top notch furnishings, just a walk to the iconic East Glacier National Hotel, watch golf across the road or glaciers from the other windows. When Colleen greets you at the door - you feel as if you found a long lost relative!!!

To get to The Candy Kitchen:
If you are coming from the EAST or WEST...once you enter town on HIGHWAY 2, go under the RR underpass onto Highway 49. Once you go past the Lodge and the golf course (approx 1/2 mile), take the first left you come to (Midvale Street) before you get to the Mountain Pine Motel sign. This street then turns left into 4th Avenue. Go approximately 1 block and it will be on your right, on the corner. It is an historic 2-story brown log home with a sign saying "The Candy Kitchen"
