Amazing host and house. Convenient and charming !
My wife and I have rented houses for a week ends or longer stays all over the world and we must say this was one of the our very best rentals. Our stay in Chatham has been wonderfull from the beginning to the end. Neni has been a charming host even before our arrival, providing detailed information and guidance to the house where she was personnaly waiting to welcome us. We were 4 couples traveling together from France for a wedding in the area and we deeply enjoyed our stay there, other people attending the wedding didn't have the chance to find such a nice place to stay. The house has tons of charm and is very spacious and convenient with everything needed for a confortable stay, it's a real family house with an identity, not one of these IKEA-furnished houses stuffed with the minimum barely acceptable to survive the week end. On your way to the beach (literally a few meters away) you can enjoy the nice garden with a large barbecue, table and bench perfect to enjoy an outdoor meal. The house is ideally located : close to the beach and walking distance from the city center. No hesitation for the 5 star rating here.
Beautiful home and view, steps to beach & town
This home was the perfect location for a family reunion of 4 couples - plenty of room for 8 people to spread out. This historic home is very comfortable, well maintained and full of charm, with amazing ocean views from the enclosed back porch. No need to drive: Walk to the end of the back yard onto a short path leading to a beautiful, peaceful private beach; out the front door is a short walk to the wonderful charm of downtown Chatham - restaurants, shops, attractions. We walked to the Impudent Oyster for dinner, Chatham Bars Inn for outside drinks and shopped the entire length of Main St. While the listing description was very accurate, both the home and the location exceeded our expectations. Owner Neni Odiaga was kind, helpful and responsive answering questions prior to arrival. I would highly recommend this property to a friend and look forward to a return stay in the near future!
Wonderful location - hosts (Neni and Christine) made us feel very welcome
Beyond our expectations. We plan to return to this very comfortable place.
Air conditioning and updating needed
This home has a wonderful location, close to a beach that's perfect for small children. But there is NO air conditioning, not even room ACs. A big problem as the temperature was in the 90s all week and inside the home it felt hotter! Portable fans were supplied but hardly helped, and my son's young children could not sleep in the heat. The home could use lighter colored paint (living area dark and gloomy); the living room furniture was old, in poor condition, and seating pieces uncomfortable! The best room was screened in porch in the rear, but again, the wicker furniture not comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. The baths in need of real scrubbing and updating. We enjoyed ourselves in spite of this, due to the large back yard, great location, and the wonderful town of Chatham. This home could be a much better rental if baths, kitchen, and furniture updated. PLUS AC!! Also there isn't comfortable patio furniture or area to relax outside for a family.
Owners seemed nice, no issues with them.
Thank you for sharing your personal perspective. We offer guests a classic Old Chatham Village experience. Our historic 1850's house does not allow for AC or window units and guests are thus informed prior to signing the lease. We are so happy you enjoyed the property and Chatham and only wish it had been perfect for you.
Our second visit to this perfect house in Chatham! Some of us have been enjoying Chatham for decades! And this is the ultimate beach location. Literally steps to the beach (as in, I need to go to the bathroom, I need another beer… or, OMG… imagine settled into your beach chair and you realize you forget the potato chips… no worry, the kitchen is about 300 feet away… send one of the kids)
The first few days were drizzly/ cloudy, but that was just fine! The screened in porch was perfect for playing games, reading, watching the fishing boats go by. For those of us that had to maintain connections via email/ conference calls and such… plenty of private space to do so. The smart ones enjoyed the beach with their Chatham sweatshirts.
Since we were there last… a new outdoor shower!!! Perfect. A new outdoor gas grill. Perfect. More beach chairs than you can count.
This home’s location is perfect (did I use the word perfect enough?) … walk to town day or night, walk to beach, day or night, stash your bikes in garage, take off your shoes… all you need to bring is your flip flops and sun screen! (though I think I saw some sun screen left around). Always enough plates for those great vacation barbecues… this is a comfy, spacious historic home and a last remnant of old cape cod! Well maintained, clean and a pure joy!
And… the owners are a lovely family who do everything possible to ensure a wonderful visit to ol’ Cape Cod. Thanks for providing us this opportunity to enjoy Cape Cod.
A Special Place
My parents and I had an incredible week at this beautiful home in Chatham. It was my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The owners are very kind and answered any questions we had. The property is very special as it sits a bit up on a hill overlooking the ocean. You can see, hear and smell the ocean. It is so calming and relaxing and quiet yet you can walk to the lighthouse in one direction or the center of town in the other. Both are within a 10 minute walk. The beach is literally steps away and one of the nicest ones I’ve been to. The house is historic with character yet updated with a nice kitchen, large bedrooms and full bathrooms. The best part is you have views of the water from almost every room including a screened in porch on the second level of the house. A truly special place that I highly recommend. The location is absolutely perfect. Thank you Neni and Christine!

Classic, cozy, graceful, historic family home in the heart of Chatham's Old Village. Easy walk down Old Main Street to Town, full of shops and great eating. Stroll to the Chatham Light or Mill Pond in minutes or jog a picturesque 2-4 mile loops past Stage Harbor and Oyster Pond. Or never stray from the house and beach out back. Run up to the kitchen for a lunch break, then back to the beach 'til sunset. Cook out in the backyard and relax there or on the porch. Look for shooting stars at night from the quiet beach. Brilliant sunrises for the early risers, to grab a cup of coffee and sit on the beach and watch the fishing boats go by. Great for bird watching too. The location of this home is fantastic! This cozy home is beautiful year around, for bird watching or a quiet getaway, and available for long term rentals during off season too!
