Actually the pictures on VRBO didn't do this place justice, this was the first reaction our family had. WOW. The Great Room was bigger than expected, with an amazing couch that sat 4-5 comfortably. The deck with hot tub and spectacular view right off the Great Room was a highlight for sure. Loved the counter height dining table, made a great place for kids and adults to play Uno and Yahtzee, and kitchen was roomy and well equipped. Communication with the property manager was great too, any time we had a question she responded immediately and was so helpful, that eases stress so much when you are trying to get 3 families settled in and figure things out in a strange place. Loved being at the end of the cul de sac, with forests beside us and below us. Our main concern was bed sizes, being that the 3 main bedrooms had Queen beds, and ideally the 3 couples would have preferred King size, but they would just not fit in these bedrooms, so that was just not an option. Bedrooms each had nice big closets. Two of the bedrooms facing the lake have a deck, so you get a deck instead of a King bed, which was fine with us. I had read other reviews of the bed in the Master having issues, in the past reviewers had commented about a hole or divot in the middle, but for us the middle seemed to be a bit too high, making your head go downhill a bit. Looks like they might have put a leg under the bed to resolve the center divot, maybe this pushed the middle up a bit too much, but this was not a huge deal. My wife is very picky about mattresses fyi, and she loved it and slept well, so that was all that really mattered. The linens and towels were top notch, which was great, as were all the dishes and glasses. We cooked every breakfast and dinner in the kitchen, and our group of 10 had no problem hanging together in the top floor great room/kitchen/dining room/deck. It was really cool to enter the top floor and be immediately in this space and see the view, great mudroom just inside the front door for jackets, boots etc. Only real issue we had was with the kids room, the bunk bed was unstable and should probably be replaced, and the pullout couch was not comfortable to sleep on. We wound up putting the pull-out couch mattress on the floor for two kids to sleep on. Kids can sleep on anything, so this wasn't a huge deal, but replacing the bunk beds and sleep sofa would make a huge difference here, and was really our only issue. Great place, & great location near Tahoe City
This home is in a beautiful location with inspiring views. It does need some TLC. Suggestions:
Sweep off the carpet of pine needles upon the entering the house. Sweep down all cobwebs. The carpets desperately need a good cleaning, especially on the stairs. The master bedroom mattress is worn out and droops in the middle which caused a lack of sleep trying to get comfortable. There is a very strong musty, mildewy smell in the master bathroom. The house needed to be aired before our arrival. It smelled stale. Hide the cords to the TV's and simplify the remote system. There were 4 remote controls for each TV. We had to have the repair person from the management company come out and figure it all out and reset the input for the TVs as they would not work. There isn't any cable or even the option to pay per view and the TV stations were unbelievably limited. Even if they didn't add either of those things, perhaps a video library would be nice. There are no games, not even a deck of cards.
The management company had to bring out a wine opener as we discovered there wasn't one during dinner. Thank goodness someone had a "leatherman." Before we left, the downstairs toilet stopped flushing.
It's Tahoe so we all still had fun but they need an owner who will stay in the house for a few days and notice all the things that desperately need addressed.
This guest came at the end of the summer and unfortunately the carpets needed a clean and the kitchen was missing a few items.
-the carpets have been cleaned
-the mattress has been flipped and turned
-the kitchen and towels have been freshly stocked
-the tvs are user friendly if you follow the directions on the laminated sheet
-the toilets are fine and have been working fine except for this group, I think one of the young kids in their party dropped a roll of tp or a wash cloth in the bowl. It was easily plunged.
Perfect bird's eye view of the lake.
This property has it all, quiet location with a lovely view of the lake away from the noise (but close to everything, Tahoe City, bike trail, private beach). The location was a perfect stay for our family, with comfortable beds, a fully stocked kitchen (for cooking), and close to literally everything. We spent a wonderful time on the deck looking at the lake as well as star gazing.
Amazing Cabin and Lake View!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Tahoe vacation and stay in this beautiful cabin! The property, which is actually a duplex (the sister cabin that sleeps another 10 is connected), is very spacious, cozy and private at the end of the cul-de-sac. It was clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. It was fully equip with everything you need for cooking, including a gas connected BBQ grill. The hot tub was the perfect addition to a nice, relaxing vacation overlooking Lake Tahoe. I was impressed with the amenities in each of the bathrooms, shampoos, conditioners and soaps, a nice touch! Instructions were easy, as was private beach access, located right next to Sunnyside Resort and accross from The Firesign Cafe and a sports rental place. Everyone there was so friendly.
My family and I will definitely return!
Fabulous to hear! Thank you so much for staying with us.
cul-de-sac and view
nice decks, lovely view, well equipped house. bed and toilet broke and they responded immediately to repair/fix. quiet cul-de-sac last house.
Great property, location and house.
The house was clean, well managed and very nice. This was perfect for our group and I'd highly recommend it.
