-Location! Location! Location! Perfect for two families (4 bedrooms double occupancy (8) with two of the bedrooms with an extra twin bed each for 2 additional children); Waterfront with dock on fresh water lake; while also views of the ocean from end of driveway. Walk to beaches (Dowses) or end of road;

-Beaches: An included Landlord Beach pass gives free access and free parking to all 11 Barnstable public and resident-only beaches, including Craigville beach and Dowses beach just minutes away.

-Property very private located 2/10 mile down driveway off of main road: Wianno Avenue, so there is no traffic to hear or be near.

-Enter driveway and drive by a large swath of untouched wooded area on your left, followed by a pretty 'upper' lawn where baseballs can be thrown or tea parties can be planned.

-This yard abuts the two car attached garage connected to the house, a classic Cape, which at first appears to be much smaller than it's actual size as it's space spans out toward the lake once inside.

-From the front door, enter the spacious living room to stunning views of Crystal Lake below with sliding doors opening onto outdoor covered porch, a stones throw from the water. Enjoy lake views and wildlife while reading a book or entertaining a crowd.

-Below to the left is the quaintest wooden boat house with original stone chimney (no fires allowed) where paddle boards, kayaks and wind surfer are kept. Also there is a ping pong table inside.

-From the Boathouse's covered porch looking out over the lake, walk down the continuing wooden steps onto the newly renovated dock which extends out over the lake.

-a wider opening at the top of the steps allows for easier maneuvering of boating and recreation equipment. No powered boats or jet skis allowed on the lake.

-The boathouse also boasts a styrofoam water mat which submerges but does not sink; tie it to dock and enjoy a cool drink absorbing some sun, or watch the kids have endless fun with it.

-There are 3 TVs all with cable: the largest one in upstairs Living room (entrance level), the other two are located in kitchen and downstairs family room.

-The dining room table seats 10 comfortably. The dining room also has a sliding glass door with full views of the lake which also opens to the porch.

-The Kitchen is fully equipped with silverware and dishware, new refrigerator and dishwasher. The stove is electric with an upper oven and lower oven. There is also a separate microwave and a small round table that seats 4 with a cushioned window bench (windows overlook driveway) for extra seating at the table.

-The back door off the kitchen opens out to brick steps and an outdoor gas grill to the right. Follow the rail road ties along the wooded area between the house and the neighbors to the back lawns toward the boathouse and dock.

-a half bath is located in hallway off kitchen.

-there is a private office on the main floor with a built in desk that seats two or three. Internet access is provided and the router number is located on the bottom of the router.

-There are two bedrooms on the main floor, both with their own full bath, one with a king bed and one with a queen.

-Downstairs just above Lake level, boasts new bamboo flooring, a family room with a wood stove, a TV, and a slider out to the concrete patio underneath the covered porch. There are two bed rooms each with a queen and a twin bed and a shared small full bath and a walk in basement with new refrigerator/freezer for extra storage as well as a washer/dryer.

-the house has a central air system which is calibrated on an automatic setting for ideal temperature and humidity levels.

-Enjoy walking a mile or a quick drive to Osterville village, with it's quaint shops and fabulous restaurants. Hyannisport is 3-4 miles away and down town Hyannis is 5-6 miles.

About The Owner

I live 30 minutes north of Boston Massachusetts with my family: my husband and 10 year old daughter, our 2 dogs, a lovebird, 2 guinea pigs, and a bearded dragon. I love the outdoors and love outdoor sports. I have my MBA from Simmons and a BA from CU, Boulder. I am currently working in sales and marketing for a healthcare company and a newly founded charity.

The Owner purchased this house in 1974

Why The Owner chose Osterville

This property is my family home where I grew up, at first during summers after having lived only on boats in harbors, and then full-time when I entered middle school in Barnstable. After my dad passed away a few years ago, he left the house to my brother and me, so we co-own it. Because this is a summer vacation home now to both of us, and our respective year-round homes (Colorado and Northern MA) with our kids' activities keep us from enjoying this property to the fullest, by renting it, we are more likely to be able to achieve our goal of keeping the house in the family which would not otherwise be possible. We also want others to share our experience of the beauty of the surroundings and village that we were so fortunate to have done growing up. We want the house to be brought to life and not sit empty!

Private, lakefront, swimming, immediate access to water and sports, steps away from ocean, (fresh water next to ocean!), prestigious town with exclusive private country clubs; Close enough to the rest of what Cape Cod has to offer (Sandwich, historical), Falmouth, Woods Hole, Hyannisport, National Seashore, surfing, biking, whale watches, ferries to the islands; the house itself renders it suitable for two families to share as two bedrooms are downstairs which can each sleep 3 in a double bed and a twin, and two bedrooms upstairs which can each sleep 2. The house is ideal for kids to sleep downstairs and adults to sleep upstairs.

Relax in a private setting on lake with dock; house is located down driveway 2/10ths mile from main road; Ocean and public beach is 4 minute walk to end of road; or walk to Dowses Beach and stop to go crabbing en route; beach sticker provided for all Barnstable beaches. In town, there are quaint shops, antique stores, and restaurants with a newly renovated library, Osterville Historical Society Museum, farmers market, fish market. Also visit Crosby's Boat yard and Nauticus Marina; fish off Pier on beach or dock on lake. Paddle board or kayak on lake or in ocean. Dine at Wimpy's Seafood Cafe, Five Bays Bistro, The Islander at Crosby's Boat Yard, or The Regatta in Cotuit. Neighboring towns are Cotuit, Marstons Mills, Centerville (Craigville beach), and Hyannis where Main Street comes alive in the evenings.
