Completely renovated in February 2015! Beautiful upgraded kitchen and bathroom, tiled floor, and new appliances.
On the very tip of South Mission Beach, our home has beautiful water views in three directions. The bay, the ocean, and the jetty provide the best views in San Diego. This is a two-bedroom bottom unit within a duplex. This home is not your typical rental with bare walls and stiff sheets; it welcomes its visitors with all the luxuries and amenities of vacationing within their own home. The home includes two bedrooms and one full bathroom. We have a television with cable and Internet as well as a DVR recorder so you won't miss your favorite shows while enjoying all that Mission Beach has to offer.
Within the dinning area there is seating for four to six people. There is sleeping for 6 people comfortably in the two bedrooms plus sleeper sofa in the living room.
The beds are:
Master Bedroom - one Queen
Second Bedroom - one Queen
Living Room - Queen Sleeper Sofa
The beautiful garden patio has plenty of lounging area to enjoy the beach air and sun. It has a grill and a picnic area for a mid-day lunch or a summer evening barbeque.
South Mission Bay offers a beautiful un-crowded white sand beach ideal for families with young children. Our home is steps to Mission Point Park, which features a playground for the kids, picnic tables, and grassy areas for bocce ball, horseshoes, or walking your dog.
On the ocean side, South Mission Beach offers aspiring surfers and boogie boarders with a good beach break under the watchful eyes of the lifeguards at the South Mission Beach Lifeguard station. This is also the location of world famous volleyball courts where many tournaments are held. Beach-side and Bay-side walk ways offer miles of jogging, biking, walking, or skating pleasure.
Parking at the beach is a rarity and this home comes with a garage with one parking space large enough for most cars and medium sized SUVs (but not large SUVs or trucks).
Plus, the outdoor shower lets you leave the sand outdoors and easily wash all beach toys.
The stunning location allows for the enjoyment of Sea World's fire works in the summer as well as the ease and access to all of San Diego’s other beautiful sights and events. Welcome home!
This is a quiet neighborhood and is the perfect getaway for a relaxing vacation with the fun and excitement within reach. Quiet hours are after 10pm in which all must be off the patios and doors and windows closed if the fun is brought inside. Our neighborhood echoes and we respect all of our neighboring tenants. Parties or events are not allowed. Smoking on the property is not permitted. We have a strict no pet policy.
How does check-in work? Is a key exchange necessary?
The front door is coded, a key exchange is not necessary. You can check-in anytime after 3pm.
Do you allow early check-in or late check-out?
We usually will have another group coming or going so we are not able to accommodate an early check-in or a late check-out. You are welcome to swing by early and drop off your bags, but you will not be able to get settled in until the cleaning crew is finished at 3pm. We will usually have an area you can leave bags for a while after checking out as well. Pease contact us for more details
Is smoking allowed on the property?
Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, including patios, carports, garages, and garden areas. If smoking occurs on the property, the security deposit will be forfeited. Smoking is also not allowed on the boardwalks or beaches and ticketing is a common occurrence.
Are pets or service animals allowed?
Unfortunately due to our liability insurance coverage and guests’ allergies, we must prohibit any animals on the property. If a guest arrives with an animal or brings an animal to the property anytime during their stay they will be evicted and the security deposit will be forfeited. We will then attempt to re-rent the unit and the guest will have the portion of rent returned that was filled by the new reservation. If we are unable to re-rent the property, no rent will be returned.
Are events or parties allowed?
No, we do not allow events or parties of any kind. If a party or event is held on the property, the security deposit will be forfeited and the guests will be evicted.

Do you have a hair dryer?
Yes each unit has one small hair dryer.
What kitchen supplies are provided?
We provide basic cooking supplies, dishware, and utensils. We provide salt and pepper, but we do not provide any other ingredients or perishables. We have a basic coffee maker, blender, and toaster. Are there a washer and dryer at the house?
Yes, you have access to a free washer and dryer on the property. Laundry detergent is also provided.
Do you have air conditioning?
We do not have air conditioning; very few homes in the area have air conditioning due to the coastal breeze that keeps the area pretty comfortable year round. Each room has either a ceiling fan or a stand up fan to help with air circulation during the occasional heat wave.
What beach supplies are provided?
We provide boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs, and beach towels. Some guests might leave behind other supplies like beach umbrellas and sports equipment, but we do not stock these items.
Do you have dependable Wi-Fi?
Yes, we have Wi-Fi throughout the house.
Is the property private? Are there any shared spaces with the other units?
The house is a triplex, and each unit has its own private entry, patio area, BBQ, parking, and beach supplies. The laundry area is a shared area.
We ran out of something (toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, soap, detergent, propane, etc), should we call you or go buy more?
Please call us. We stock extra supplies and we are happy to direct you to our backstock if needed.
Where can we park extra cars?
Street parking can become tricky in the summer so always read the signs posted as street sweeping takes place almost every weekday (except Wednesdays) and some areas are limited to 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 2 hours. Ticketing cars is a frequent occurrence here at the beach so be aware.
How close is the beach?
Mission Beach is a skinny peninsula; both the Bayside and Oceanside have sandy beaches and a lively boardwalk. We are one property away from the bayfront and about 100 yards away from the oceanfront. The bay is calmer with warmer water. The ocean is livelier and has great waves.
Do you provide beach cruisers?

If you are bothered by any noise violations while staying with us, do not hesitate to call; we can help by contacting other guests or owners of other properties to notify them that a nuisance is being caused. If a neighbor reports a noise disturbance or police are called and a violation is issued, the guest security deposit will be forfeited.
Is the property wheelchair accessible?

Could of used another chair in living room. with only 1 sofa for 4 adults it was a big crowed. Great location.
Hi Lorna, thank you for your review, glad to hear that you liked the spot. We have several folding chairs stored in the master closet for those that want to spread out a bit when everyone is together is in the living room. We hope to have you back :)
Had a great time and it was a wonderful location.
Our only complaint is about the WiFi. It was very slow or even non existent at times.
Location location location!
Pros: The house was clean and the location is incredible - a quick walk to beach and bay. The kitchen was well stocked and abundant linens including beach towels which was helpful. There was a wagon and sand toys for my little one which was a lovely surprise.
Cons: When the sprinklers went off at 4:30am, the pipes sounded like they were going to explode which was a brutal wake up call. The tv reception and internet were spotty which was a little frustrating. Thankfully we were not in the home much so it wasn't a big deal but frustrating nonetheless.
Lastly, which I'm not sure who is responsible (owners vs VRBO) but the first cell number to contact owners was incorrect (and clearly, I wasn't the first call this poor man received) and the check in instructions (on the app) had the front door code as the garage code so it was a little frustrating trying to access the home upon arrival. The welcome letter the owners sent was thorough and accurate but it wasn't the first thing I went to since the app is usually helpful.
Hi Molly, thank you for letting me know about the sprinklers (we have them set for 10AM but the timer clock was incorrect for some reason, we fixed it after seeing your note). Also, regarding the door codes, we change them often and we send each guest a personal welcome note with up-to-date codes and our contact information. We have found the VRBO app to be difficult to navigate so we let everyone know to refer to the welcome note we send them. I am sorry that there was some confusion. We hope to have you again!
We had a great time and the owners were very helpful and accommodating. They were quick to respond to any questions and our family had a fabulous time.
Great location, lacking amenities
We have stayed at several vacation homes some in the mission Beach area. This home was not our favorite. When we arrived it was a huge rain storm. We immediately realized the heater was not working. Upon investigating we realized there was a leak directly above the heater. The heater was so wet the pilot light couldn't stay on. We were freezing with no heater and could only find 1 extra blanket. (I reported the leak to management and received a quick response). Once the heater dried out and kicked on it was incredibly loud! We were awoken multiple times a night to the sound of the heater. We also could hear jet planes during the night. The house was a good size, but we felt like the amenities could have used an upgrade. The pillows were flat, sheets were thin, and towels were rough. We were also disappointed to find such bare bones in the kitchen. There were 4 utinsels. That meant for our family of 4 we were hand washing forks, spoons, etc. After every meal. I would recommend bringing plastic so you can do fewer dishes. Another concern we had was that the security code on entering the house/garage is too easy and doesn't change based on tenants. We felt very unsecure knowing that any past tenants could simply return and use the unchanging code. This house has a really great location and price, but we would have appreciated more amenities.
Hi Brenda, thank you for your feedback. Please note that you visited San Diego during the worst rain we have had in years… Our rooftop flooded, which leaked into the heater closet and caused the issue. This is not a problem we have had before, and the roof leak was repaired. Regarding the heater noise, we also have space heaters that you could have used that are silent. We have a storage closest with several extra blankets, linens, towels, and dishware. I wish you would have called so I could direct you to the extra supplies… We try to make it clear to call us with any questions or concerns, we are very accessible. Lastly, regarding your concern about the security codes for the door and garage, the codes might have seemed obvious to you, but we change them often, past tenants could not return and use an unchanging code.
Look no further
This review is for Stacey's 2 Bedroom Beach House. If you're looking to stay in the San Diego mission beach area, you definitely want to consider this listing. Nestled by the Mariner's bay, the entrance channel and the Pacific Ocean, this place is a beautiful home in a multi family structure. In our experience, the place was very clean and the amenities are just right and everything in the house works. There are also many supplies to aid you with a quiet evening cooking out at home or grabbing some beach equipment and hitting the shorelines. The location is quiet during late evening to morning and is steps away from water on all 3 sides, which is perfect for a vacation here. Grocery stores and restaurants from pizza stores to little taco shops are all within walking distance of this location. There is a private parking spot as well to avoid unnecessary tickets or tow incidents for 1 automobile with the added convenience of having more spots very close by for more vehicles, if needed. One more fantastic thing about this place is you cannot beat the rates. You certainly pay a premium to live directly facing the water however this location offers you all you need without shelling out so much and just a tad away from the waterfront properties. All in all we had a great time and definitely recommend this listing to anyone who reads this.
