Private waterfall cottage on 9 acres three miles to main street Hendersonville
Laurel Creek Cottage is perched above Laurel Creek nestled on nine wooded acres three miles from mainstreet Hendersonville. This 1,050 square foot cottage is surrounded by native laurels and rhododendron and is tucked in a mountain cover that was the love and pride of my Grandfather. The cottage is an extension of everything my grandparents were passionate about....undisturbed nature, privacy, and simplicity.
The 1,050 sq. foot living space is flanked by a set of french doors leading to the 350 square foot deck perfect for relaxing and dining while overlooking Laurel Creek and the forest. This spacious two bedroom, one and half bath cottage is designed to bring nature indoors and is decorated with a blend of old and new. The master bedroom features a handmade queen twig bed positioned with a panoramic view and cozy reading nook. The guest bedroom has two twin beds. A fully appointed eat in kitchen completes the cottage.
Greeting you at the top of the stairs, you'll find a fun chalkboard with perhaps a few local activities or festivals listed, a fun reading selection, board games, cards, and yes a TV with full satellite package and Wifi.
Located in the heart of Hendersonville Laurel Creek Cottage is bordered on one side by fifteen acres of wooded estate and twenty on the other. You are truly tucked away with nine acres to roam at your leisure. The antique log cabin on the property is currently not for rent and is owner occupied ( couple, mid 50's , no pets) on an occassional basis.
During the spring and fall deer like to call Laurel Creek their home along with turkey, and an occasional fox. The cove also provides endless hours of bird watching with a large variety of birds including my Grandfathers personal favorite the large pileated woodpecker.
You are three miles to the heart of downtown Historic Hendersonville, and at the backdoor of Dupont Forest with Asheville, Brevard and Saluda only a few miles away. Hendersonville is a charming small town located in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina and home to The Flat Rock Playhouse and Poet Carl Sandburg's home place where he pinned Abraham Lincoln's the Prairie Years. This beautiful area of the country provides for plenty of exploring, shopping and dining experiences. The Biltmore House, zip line adventures, kayaking, canoeing, tubing and hiking are minutes away. Just down the road between Hendersonville and Brevard is the Dupont Forest with more than 10,000 acres of forest, trails and waterfalls. Brevard known as the 'Land of Waterfalls' is a quaint small town with tremendous cultural and natural opportunities including the 500,000 acre Pisgah National Forest.
I have tried to include detailed photographs that should give you the true feel of the cottage. Thank you for your interest as we start this new adventure of sharing our slice of heaven.....

The property at the cabin is absolutely beautiful and the hosts were amazing. The cabin is close to downtown and hiking so you don’t have to drive far to get to everything you need. What a great stay!
We loved the cozy cottage. It was very thoughtfully designed and proved to be very restful. Our children loved playing in the creek. We made such good memories, and hope to return soon!
We had a great stay. The house overlooks a creek. Food location

So happy you enjoyed your time at the cottage. It's always our hope that our guests love it as much as my grandfather did! He worked so hard all of his life and found his land to be a place of peace and beauty! Can't wait to have you back ! Thank you
A wonderful property... setting couldn't be more peaceful, charming and well equipped cottage, and extremely attentive and caring property owners. You will not be disappointed if you select this property for your next vacation!
We have stayed in this general area many times before, but really loved how secluded the cottage felt while still have such proximity to dining and other activities. The property was so special - we saw deer, beavers, and all sorts of wildlife that our toddler loved. We will definitely be back!

The owner has thought of every detail and also provided detailed recommendations for hiking, restaurants, and activities in the area. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were super comfy! The Laurel Creek Cottage was an amazing place to stay for our 25th anniversary. We were delighted with the location and communication with the host. All the amenities were as described and the place was pristine! The scenery was gorgeous. The waterfall was so relaxing. We wanted for nothing, but when we did need to eat, all the recommendations and places we landed throughout Hendersonville did not disappoint. Would definitely stay here again! Absolutely lovely!

From Royall's (our host) hospitality, the beautiful landscape that surrounded us, the cottage itself and the location. We have already started to plan out next stay here. I highly recommend it!

Perfect Family Getaway Spot!
We had a lovely stay at the cottage after taking our oldest to camp. Royall thought of everything! The cottage was perfectly stocked with all needed items and extras. The decor is lovely and the cottage is clean and cozy. Comfy beds and wonderful bed and bath linens. Great location for quick access to downtown and area attractions but feels like you are secluded. Sitting on the deck, watching the waterfall was so nice. We cannot wait to go back!!

Thank you so much for posting a review Jennifer, it was our pleasure having you and I loved we had the opportunity to meet! I hope your "camper" had a great first time adventure!! Looking forward to having you back in November, you will get to see a whole different look to the property.
The property was so charming! You are nestled right into the hillside and the view is amazing from the cottage deck. You could sit and relax while listening to the water running in the creek below. My husband and I stayed with our two young girls and they had a wonderful time exploring the creek and property. The cottage rooms are cozy and the hosts were great about making sure every thing you need for your stay is supplied. Will definately stay again!

Emilie, we loved having you stay with us! Thank you for such a beautiful review. I wish I had been able to meet you and your family. Happy holidays!!
My son, daughter-in-law and I came to visit a friend, relax and enjoy nature. This cottage is so close to town and all the stores and restaurants, but while at the cottage you feel very secluded. Royall has lovely, unique decorations and has provided everything you could imagine. We did get to meet Royall and Brent who are so welcoming. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I were looking for a quite place to get away for a few days and just be still. We wanted a place next to a stream/creek so we could hear the water. This was the perfect hideaway for us. Quite, private, with every need available. We will definitely go back!
Even though I didn't get to meet Royall in person, we communicated via text, and I feel like we could become fast friends!
This was a beautiful property and excellent for a few days to get away to the mountains. The cottage is secluded yet close to anything you need. You have easy access to the mountains and all the beauty they provide. The property is beautiful with the creek running through the entire space. The sound of the creek is very soothing. Communication with the property owner was beyond expectations. She provided many personal touches to make you feel at home. I would recommend this cottage without any reservations and look forward to the time I can stay again.
