About the property

Two Bedroom One And A Half Bath Waterfall Cottage Nestled On Nine Acres

Laurel Creek Cottage is perched above Laurel Creek nestled on nine wooded acres three miles from mainstreet Hendersonville. This 1,050 square foot cottage is surrounded by native laurels and rhododendron and is tucked in a mountain cover that was the love and pride of my Grandfather. The cottage is an extension of everything my grandparents were passionate about....undisturbed nature, privacy, and simplicity.

The 1,050 sq. foot living space is flanked by a set of french doors leading to the 350 square foot deck perfect for relaxing and dining while overlooking Laurel Creek and the forest. This spacious two bedroom, one and half bath cottage is designed to bring nature indoors and is decorated with a blend of old and new. The master bedroom features a handmade queen twig bed positioned with a panoramic view and cozy reading nook. The guest bedroom has two twin beds and there is additional sleeping accommodations on the pull out sofa in the living room. A fully appointed eat in kitchen completes the cottage.

Greeting you at the top of the stairs, you'll find a fun chalkboard with perhaps a few local activities or festivals listed, a fun reading selection, board games, cards, and yes a TV with full satellite package and Wifi.

Located in the heart of Hendersonville Laurel Creek Cottage is bordered on one side by fifteen acres of wooded estate and twenty on the other. You are truly tucked away with nine acres to roam at your leisure. The antique log cabin on the property is currently not for rent and is owner occupied ( couple, early 50's , no pets) on an occassional basis.

During the spring and fall deer like to call Laurel Creek their home along with turkey, and an occasional fox. The cove also provides endless hours of bird watching with a large variety of birds including my Grandfathers personal favorite the large pileated woodpecker.

You are three miles to the heart of downtown Historic Hendersonville, and at the backdoor of Dupont Forest with Asheville, Brevard and Saluda only a few miles away. Hendersonville is a charming small town located in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina and home to The Flat Rock Playhouse and Poet Carl Sandburg's home place where he pinned Abraham Lincoln's the Prairie Years. This beautiful area of the country provides for plenty of exploring, shopping and dining experiences. The Biltmore House, zip line adventures, kayaking, canoeing, tubing and hiking are minutes away. Just down the road between Hendersonville and Brevard is the Dupont Forest with more than 10,000 acres of forest, trails and waterfalls. Brevard known as the 'Land of Waterfalls' is a quaint small town with tremendous cultural and natural opportunities including the 500,000 acre Pisgah National Forest.

I have tried to include detailed photographs that should give you the true feel of the cottage. Thank you for your interest as we start this new adventure of sharing our slice of heaven.....

About Royall

My husband and I love Hendersonville and all that this area has to offer. We invite you to join us and see why we call Laurel Creek our slice of peace and tranquility!!

Why Royall chose Smoky Mountains

The property has no artificial light which makes for a spectacular view of the star filled sky. Directional spot lights also offer the opportunity to light the mountainside at night....

What makes this cottage unique

Sit on the porch above Laurel Creek and catch a glimpse of the deer or turkey passing by..... All but one room in the cottage offer views of the Laurel Creek

Beautiful, comfortable and serene

  • 5 of 5

Our recent stay at Laurel Creek Waterfall Cottage was outstanding! We loved our stay and would recommend this property to our family and friends in a heartbeat. Some additional detail below…

THE HOSTESS: Royall is a perfect balance of warmth and professionalism. Quick to communicate, full of local information to share, and born to host! She is readily available if needed, but is careful to provide privacy otherwise.

ACCOMODATIONS: The cottage is perfectly appointed, very clean, and decorated with a modern mountain/farm cottage feel. The beds are SUPER comfortable and the outdoor space cannot be beat.

LOCATION: You are a short drive into downtown Hendersonville, 30-45 minutes from Asheville, and within an hour of multiple parks. DuPont Forest (waterfalls and a pretty easy hike) was our favorite; Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are a beautiful drive and great way to spend a day. Good grocery stores nearby (including The Fresh Market with great prepared/heat and serve gourmet foods) and close to downtown Hendersonville.

TOWN OF HENDERSONVILLE/FLAT ROCK: Hendersonville is a perfectly sized town with a great shopping and restaurant area; off the main street, there are plenty of little gems to find… Flat Rock Bakery, HenDough Chicken & Donuts, and Flat Rock Wood Room were our favorites.

With two small gals, it amazes me how relaxing our time in the area was...this was our first vacation that didn’t require another vacation to recover! This will not be our last visit to the mountains of NC!

Absolutely beautiful!!!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment I booked until the day we left, we had an awesome experience! Royall was so attentive in making sure we were comfortable. It felt like we were staying with friends or better yet...family. The cottage and decor was adorable and the view was amazing!! Pictures don't do it justice. Our 2 boys loved to play down by the creek while we sat on the deck and watched them. We would definitely stay here again!!

Perfect Spring Break Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough good things about the cottage and working with Royall! I stayed there with my parents and two boys. The kids loved playing in the creek on the property and watching the wild turkeys on the property. The town of Hendersonville is absolutely adorable with several good restaurants. We were close to both the parks for hiking and only down the road from town. Royall was an outstanding host and was able to answer any questions we had. We are looking forward to our next stay at the cottage.

Absolutely perfect.

  • 5 of 5

Laurel Creek Cottge was everything we wanted in a home away from home. The cottage was furnished so comfortably and had lots of extras. Seeing turkeys feeding outside our window was a real treat. At one time, we counted twenty turkeys. We were able to photograph deer feeding by the stream. Nothing can describe accurately the peacefulness of the stream. What a joy to see and hear the beauty of the outdoors so close to town. The location was perfect! Thank you Royall and Brent for all of your hard work to make our vacation one we will remember! We enjoyed meeting you and will definitely return!

Perfect weekend getaway cottage

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Laurel Creek Cottage was so enjoyable and relaxing. It is situated approximately 7-8 minutes from Downtown Hendersonville on a 9 acre property in a quiet neighborhood close to Champion Hills Golf Course. The back of the property has a beautiful creek that runs though it with forest in the backdrop. You can sit on their large deck to enjoy the setting. We found the amenities to be completely adequate for our needs. We were a family of five with three being kids. The only drawback was one shower but we managed fine. I think for a couple would be absolutely perfect, though a small family would also be great. The owners live near the cottage are really nice folks. Lovely place and we plan to return.
