You'll want to pack up the cars when you see this wonderful lakeview Tahoe City vacation cabin! This Tahoe getaway is in the desirable Dollar Point community, with access to a private beach, pool, and lakeside tennis courts in the summer. And in winter, Squaw valley Ski Resort is only about 10 miles away, with Alpine Meadows, Homewood, and Northstar all within a half hour's drive.
Set back around tall trees, once inside you'll be greeted by a large and open living room and dining area. Tall, slanted ceilings, outdoor-themed artwork, and an attention-grabbing, stone-faced fireplace give the room a true cabin in the woods vibe. A large sectional sofa is the ideal spot to sit and relax after a day on the slopes. Start a fire for a little warmth and ambiance while everyone sips mugs of hot cocoa. There's also a flat screen TV with cable and a DVD player for more entertainment options.
Right from your cozy spot on the sofa, you'll have an amazing view through tall two-story windows looking out over the tree-lined landscape. Sliding glass doors lead out to the deck with an outdoor dining table, chairs for lounging, and a charcoal grill for outdoor feasts. On warm, sunny afternoons, you'll be able to find a comfortable spot out here for reading, or using the home's WiFi to check email.
On nights when you eat inside, there are seats for everyone at the spacious wooden table. You'll also have all the plates, bowls, silverware, and glasses needed to set the table for a homemade meal, leftovers, or even take-out pizza from Front Street Station in Tahoe City.
When it is time to prepare a meal at the house, the kitchen has stainless steel appliances (including a large, family-sized refrigerator) and all the counter space you'll need to prepare a taco night for all or a late-night, romantic meal for two after the kids have gone to bed. There's also a coffeemaker and toaster for the mornings, as well as a blender for smoothies, creamy soups, or even a margarita or two.
Two of the bedrooms are located on this main level and both have two twin beds each. These rooms are perfect for the kids or others who want to share a room but not a bed. There are reading lamps, alarm clocks, wall art, and wood paneling for a homey decor, as well as comfortable beds.
Upstairs, the loft area looks down over the living room and has a seating area, foosball table, and view out the large living room window. The sofa bed provides extra sleeping options and there's even a desk for getting a little work done. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed, wood beamed ceiling, and a TV. In addition, the second level also has another full bathroom (there is also one downstairs). This Lake Tahoe home will comfortably accommodate up to eight guests.
Additional house amenities include a washer and dryer, a stereo with a CD player, and a large, fenced back yard for everyone to play. When you stay at this Dollar Point cabin, you'll also have a number of deluxe homeowner amenities. A private beach right on the lake, a swimming pool, and tennis courts that may be reserved on an hourly basis.
Lake Tahoe is truly a year-round destination! In nice weather take a hike or bike ride around Burton Creek State Park. Less than three miles from the house, this watershed area has over 200 acres of rolling hills and meadow areas, with over six miles of family-friendly trails. Right in town, there's also a number of galleries and shops to browse.
When snow is covering the mountains, there are a number of ski resorts to choose form - all just a short drive away! In addition, the surrounding stater parks and national forest lands have opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In late February/early March, there's the North Lake Tahoe Snowfest! Each year there's a different them and events spread out over all of north Lake Tahoe - including Tahoe City, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Homewood Ski Resorts.
Anytime of year, Tahoe City has a number of restaurants on the nights (or anytime) you don't feel like cooking. Rosie's Cafe is famous for hearty breakfasts, as well as classic dinners like Yankee pot roast and pasta, Jake's on the Lake has great water views as well as fresh fish specials, and Wolfdale's Cuisine Unique has one of the best Happy Hours in town.
However you choose to spend your time, a stay at this Tahoe City vacation rental in Dollar Point will have everyone in your group enjoying their Lake Tahoe vacation!
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
This cabin was perfect for my family of 7. It was in great shape with everything we needed and very clean. One note, if you have walking toddlers there are some steep steps as well as a banister on the second floor with bars that a 1-3 year old could fit through. I was ok with my kids because they were old enough to understand not to do it, but it could be stress ful for parents with walking toddlers.
Well maintaned, has all essential equipments.
Would rent again
It was a great home to stay in! Will definitely try to come back!! Perfect for our family!
Great location/very cute home, had all the amenities you could hope for. Disappointed to find the dishwasher full of dishes and the dryer full of clothes when we checked in. Home needs a good dusting/spring cleaning (lots of dust and cobwebs). Website was a little misleading as to how close the home is to the beach/pool...not within walking distance if you have small kids.
Also, if there are no dogs allowed, please don't put out a towel that says "dog towel". That property would have been perfect for our family dog and we were so sad to leave her behind on this trip. When we saw the towel hanging that said "dog towel" it really made us sad.
Overall a great place today and we would love to stay again, but a little more attention to detail would make it an even better.
Was great location and nice area and quite and home had everything you needed from the kitchen to entertainment in the home.
We had a fantastic time in Lake Tahoe and loved staying at Dollar Point. The house is really comfortable, clean and has all the utensils needed to cook meals if required. It is only a short walk to the shared pool and tennis courts which we used every day. This area is also really well maintained. There is so much to see and do in the area and Dollar Point is only a short drive to Tahoe City (under 3 miles). We would definitely stay there again.
