Perfect for a small family or honeymoon hide-away, this fully furnished ocean view apartment puts you above the crowd and just steps from the sand. Enjoy a life-guarded beach for surf and swim.
This apartment sleeps between one and four, with a Queen sized bed, a double futon, and a single roll-away bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, pots, pans, small appliances, complimentary coffee and tea, and paper products. All bed and bath linens are supplied including beach towels, as well as boogie boards, bikes, cooler, beach chairs and umbrella.
A private entrance and a full sun deck, which can be used as an extension of the living room, provide the perfect mix for a Great Escape. Come, relax, and enjoy!
The deck has an exclusve use gas BBW, bistro set and sun bench.
200 yards to the bayside for smooth water swim, sports, and Sea World fireworks at night.
A short 5 minute stroll takes you our local market, liquor store, postal/fax center, two visitor friendly pubs, eateries, and uni-sex hair salon.
Another 2 minutes and you are at the Amusement Park with historic roller coaster, fitness center, beach shops. At adjacent blocks there are rental shops for kayaks, sailboards, boards, bikes, and blades. Again, lots of eateries, shops and temporary or permanent tatoo parlors.
Across the bridge to the East are, Sea World, para-gliding and commercial Sportsfisihing. The San Diego Zoo, S.D. Internation Airport, La Jolla, golf and downtown are just about twenty minutes away.

Why the Owner Chose Mission Beach
South Mission Beach has a unique balance of residential and recreational living. We are a close community with a wide variety of ages, occupations, and life styles on a narrow "spit" of land without through traffic to other beach areas. This is the cleanest, widest, best of the beaches, neighbors talk with neighbors, and were visitors feel at home.
View from deck includes boats in channel and out to open ocean.
Swings, slides, climbing, walk 27 houses or drive...drinking fountain, picnic tables and rest rooms.

My husband and I grew up in and around San Diego, but we LOVED the life style of Mission Beach and the constant change of the ocean. Ever since we can remember (we have photos of us as toddlers) we were finding ways to get to the beach as often as we could, all seasons of the year. In our high school, college days we were just amazed at time we spent working and playing here. We just couldn't get enough of the beach. There was no question, we had to invest in our own "South Mission beach house." We lived, worked, played and retired here. We use The Sun Catchers, our great one bedroom vacation rental above our home and "Above the Crowd" as our retirement investment. We hope you'll enjoy all that "our" beach has to offer. What a wonderful hidden secret escape! Perfect for planning our wedding (just far away enough from folks in north county). Sorry we didn't have more time to relax during the 2 weeks prior to "the event." We'll be back on our anniversary. This time to play in OTL and just play.
