Paradise Valley house description

This very private and luxurious 2000 square foot home is atop the Yellowstone plateau, near the Yellowstone River just 25 miles south of Livingston and 30 miles north of Yellowstone Park. The location is perfect for year-round access to Yellowstone Park, as the North Entrance is the only entrance open year round. You can drive through the Lamar Valley to Cooke city for world class snowmobiling seeing the great bison and elk herds on the way . We have year round fly fishing as well with the nearby blue-ribbon trout waters, and the most famous Spring Creeks in the world, - hiking the mountain ranges and national forests, horseback riding, white water rafting- you won't run out of choices, and in the winter, snowshoeing, alpine and cross country skiing, and dog sledding are common here.

Architect designed details like soffits for indirect lighting, 8 foot doors throughout, Montana yellow pine floors and trim, and generous windows make the home a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. Cooks will love the kitchen with its gas range and fully appointed selection of cookware and small appliances.

Large picture windows and sliding glass doors in every room provide views of Emigrant Peak, the Gallatin Mountains, the Absarokee-Beartooth Mountains and the Crazies! You wont know which window to look out as each provides a spectacular view of snow capped peaks. Radiant floor heating throughout makes the cabin very comfortable for winter visits. The gourmet kitchen is the focus of the main living area and is a perfect setup to socialize while cooking the evening meal. The cabin is very tastefully decorated with unique Native American artifacts, vintage cowboy art, and some pieces by local contemporary artists. Much of the furniture is from the same company that made furniture for the old Yellowstone Park lodges.

The cabin is less than a mile from the Yellowstone River. Also about a mile away is the famous Chico Hot Springs Resort. Chico offers hot spring pools, guided outdoor activities such as horseback riding and whitewater rafting, 5 star dining, a grill, and a saloon with live music several nights each week.

This place is da bomb! Close to Yellowstone Park and very close to the incredible Yellowstone River. Amazing 360 degree views in home that is fantastically put together. Everything you need - comfort, comfort, comfort. And the stores are close - general store out near the main highway and full grocery and cool town - Livingston - only a scenic drive away. Two resources in Livingston - Matt's Old Fashioned Butcher and a Charcuterie - The Gourmet Cellar - in Livingston. Awesome restaurants close by, all with the feeling of being in the wilderness. Tons of wildlife to see - literally where the deer and the antelope (and the buffalo and the elk) play. You won't be disappointed. A lifetime experience.

For ten days in August we enjoyed stress-free quiet comfort and incredible scenery at the McCulley Cabin in Paradise Valley. Through the cabin's large windows, or seated on either of the the two porches,we experienced beautiful sunrises and sunsets, starry night skies, wildlife, and even a double rainbow. The gourmet kitchen and outdoor grills made cooking a pleasure and, alternatively, a short drive brought us to excellent restaurants. By the end of the first day of our stay, we knew we wanted to return to this unique home, indeed, it is the Montana home we wish we had built.

the views from this property are second to none! (however, with the wide open views comes some intense wind!) The cabin was very private, yet conveniently located to Chico Hotsprings & midway betweeen livingston & yellowstone. There are lots of other rental properties nearby which makes vacationing with family very easy to coordinate. Overall we had a wonderful time & will remember it always.

We stayed at the McCulley cabin June 9-13. We had an absolute marvelous time. We were blown away by the gorgeous and breath taking scenery all around the McCulley cabin. The cabin itself was beautiful and we all felt so at home. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. It was more than we had hoped for. The decor in the home is just so fascinating and the home itself was very clean and well kept. I did not want to leave the cabin (well the back deck area looking at the mountains). LOL! We enjoyed Yellowstone which was only half hour away...GREAT scenic drive. We also enjoyed the Chico Hot Springs which is located just around the corner from the cabin. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The little info packet that was left out for us at the cabin was very helpful to us in our daily travels. I would recommmend the McCulley Cabin any day of the year. It was very peacful and family friendly. I cannot wait to visit again!!!

Our family of 6 stayed here comfortably with room to spare. It was decorated nicely and had a cozy feel. The location is great as it is only about an hour from the Bozeman airport and an hour the other way to get to Yellowstone. We also did some horseback riding and would have rafted if it wasn't so cold in Gardiner, which is about 45 minutes away.Chico Hot Springs resort is less than 5 minutes away if you want a nice soak. Overall, it was a great stay and my dad has already recommended to some of his friends!

This place does not disappoint. Every direction has a great view. There's one set of mountains to look at when you make the coffee in the morning, another when you brush your teeth, and another when you're sitting on the porch drinking a glass of wine. It was better than TV. But when the sun finally goes down, and you're tired of watching the stars, there IS a very nice TV watching room. My wife and I (and our 2 dogs) celebrated our 25th anniversary with a full 7 nights at this wonderful location - and we're so glad we did. We cooked almost every night in the fully-functioning kitchen, browsed through the many western art books, listened to our ipod on the cabin's stereo system, and slept comfortably in the (very tall) king-sized bed. Everyday we'd make the 30-minute drive into Yellowstone and explore different areas. Sometimes we took the dogs, but most times we left them in their crates for a couple of hours - and it was great relief to know they were safe, far from any maddening outdoor noises. Overall it was a wonderful experience that I'd highly recommend. We hope that we can come back.

I really hope this is helpful to people considering this property in the future: Despite the reassurance of the consistent rave reviews, I couldn't help to be a bit hesitant given the not-so-great review from fellow VRBOer “Christina”. But believe me, there’s no reason to fear, I find absolutely no merit to that review. This cabin, without a doubt, is 10 out of 10! Everything, from the beautifully decorated and well appointed bathrooms, to the ever-going panoramic views from every room of the house, we were immersed in complete relaxation, comfort, and peace. The rustic touches around the property really gave us the full experience of the natural beauty that surrounded us. So private and beautiful, even some deer visited our last day! The property has 2 decks with pretty amazing views and perfect for stargazing! There are tons of sitting options inside and out, my favorite were the over-sized chairs by the fire place, tons of wine was sipped on those! The cabin is really close to Chico springs and about 30 min from Yellowstone and less than 10 min from fly fishing. Yet you feel completely secluded in your own little paradise. Thanks to the owner for sharing this amazing property, I am a fan and already have plans to go back!

We spent a week at the McCulley Cabin and it was so wonderful! There were 6 of us and we found that we were not crowded in the least. Our mouths fell open when we walked inside for the first time. Previous reviews were correct in saying that the pictures do not do the cabin justice! There is so much to see inside as well as outside. The views go on and on! The close proximity to Chico Hot Springs was great, and with trips to Yellowstone our days were full and always exciting. We went fly fishing with Flying Pig Adventures in Gardiner. (Fire Hole River in Yellowstone) Buffalo walking past us was icing on the cake! As far as the cabin....we found the beds to be very comfortable and the radiant heat in the floors was a welcome relief since we were there for the first snow of fall! 3 days of our vacation had flurries, so we were in Heaven!! The porches were great for family gatherings to talk about how lucky we were to be at this cabin! We will definately recommend this home to other visitors every chance we get! (Focus ficus II ) was very thirsty. We watered him several times while we were there. What a wonderful addition to the cabin! If you're looking for a relaxing vacation home....this is it!

My family went to Yellowstone for my Father's 65th birthday and we used this cabin for our base location. We were very happy with the privacy of the location and the quality and comfort of the cabin. It was all very peaceful. Mark was very responsive to any questions and concerns we had. We only wish we had more time during our stay to enjoy the cabin and nearby area between the trips to yellowstone. We would certainly stay there again.

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 1999

About the owner: We built this as a family get away- with a love of fishing as the reason. Everyone who comes here feels at home, and free to express themselves. That's why we built it.

Why the Owner Chose Paradise Valley:
I think it's one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, am reminded time and time again when I visit from my home in Seattle. I often find myself in tears when I turn down hwy 89 and East River road, with the Mountains rising all around me.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
The property is excellent for birding and in the winter months, deer and elk are often seen grazing nearby. We are close enough to Chico Hot Springs that you can easily drive down for an early morning soak before breakfast.
