It is in Sonoma County’s Russian River Wine Country adjacent to a 100 acre vineyard and minutes from the Sonoma Coast. The cottage offers comfort and privacy with sweeping views of vineyards, redwood forests and Mt. St. Helena. We are located in the coastal hills a few miles from the hamlet of Occidental just over sixty miles north of San Francisco. It is centrally located just minutes from the spectacular Sonoma Coast, the Russian River recreational area and the world renowned Osmosis Spa. Just 10 miles west of Santa Rosa the area offers redwood forests, the Sonoma Coast and world class restaurants all in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country.
Come stay in our newly built spacious (830 sf) one bedroom, one bath house. Built of nontoxic and sustainable materials it is ideally suited for chemically sensitive individuals. It is located in the orchard and has panoramic views of west Sonoma County from every window. Watch the sun rise over Mount Saint Helen from the great room or the window seat in the bedroom. Sip a glass of wine on the private terrace while watching the reflected light of sunset on the rolling hills dotted with vineyards and redwoods. Soak in the hot tub on the terrace after a day of hiking or picnicking on the spectacular Sonoma Coast.
The retreat is a turn-key accommodation with a queen-size bed and queen sleeper sofa. Your stay includes complimentary local wine. Pick organic vegetables in the garden and apples, black berries and figs in season. We can arrange a massage in the cottage or on the terrace, a train ride and dinner while you cruise through wine country or a private tour of the neighboring vineyards. Of course you can just relax and read a book or hike or bike on local trails in this beautiful country setting.

My husband and I moved to Sonoma County in 2003 and build our house and guest house on this 7 acre estate in the Russian River wine appellation of Sonoma Wine Country. We are retired professors and environmental scientist who were looking for up scale country living with an optimal climate. Since then we have designed developed acres of bio dynamic gardens based upon ecologically sustainable practices of permaculture. We have found a piece of heaven and look forward to sharing it with you.

Wow!! Although the spring weather was not the best, we found this cozy guest house to satisfy all of our remote getaway desires. The full working kitchen and jacuzzi were very accomodating as well as the breathtaking views and close proximity to all of the wonderful California wineries in the area. What an amazing time we had in the Sonoma and coastal area, hiking, day trips, picnics, beach walks and coatal views, wineries, and amazing restraunts all in very short proximity to the house. These accomodations are a perfect location for a small family or couples getaway. We can't wait to visit again.

The views from the cottage couldn't be more spectacular. We enjoyed watching the sunrise every morning, there were great views from the windows and the deck. The cottage was great too, especially enjoyed the cozy window seats/nooks. This is truly a special place. I would highly recommend this to anyone for a peaceful vacation.

Lavender Cottage is just wonderful. The setting is perfect, it is quiet and peaceful. The cottage itself is very spacious and very nicely appointed. We were visiting Sonoma County to look at property and boy do we wish we could find a place like this! The views are fantastic and all the ripe fruit was wonderful. We will definitely come back to stay when we continue our search and will recommend it to our Bay Area friends. This place is a find!

We had an absolutely fabulous time at the Sunrise Ridge Retreat. It is the most peaceful setting to have a week away. The grounds are gorgeous and we had a full week of great wine, fresh fruit and vegetables, beautiful sunrises and nights in the hot tub under the stars. We look forward to coming back again soon! An enchanting sensory delight in every way...The views of sweeping vineyards..awakening to the sunrise each morning...the distant lights of Santa Rosa...and a magnificant full moon each night ... an unforgettable experience..The scents of lavender and rosemary...hummingbirds diving... ...walks were wonderfully peaceful...visits to vineyards and the coast were exciting! Home away from home says it all! We loved our week in your perfect cottage in such a pastoral setting. We enjoyed the hot tub every evening with a glass of wine purchased at the day's favorite winery. The area restaurants did not disappoint. But most of all the serenity of the place, the proximity to enchanting countryside, the coast, no strip malls or Wal-Mart...just the way it used to be in our beautiful country.
