Our group of guys put away the cell phones and head up north every year. This has been by our our best spot. It was by all means "out there" but it had all of the comforts of home a group of guys need. Plenty of spots to fish close the island, and also Rainy has millions of spots if you want to explore. A solid GPS is a must if you want to explore so you do not end up in Canada or on a rock pile. The dock was very solid and held our boats with no issues even on some windy nights/days as it is on the backside of the island. The deck was an awesome place to sit out and play cards or just hang out. The island had some paths on it to explore. We saw quite a few deer on the island and they would swim back and forth between the two islands almost every day. There are a lot of random things at the house (utensils, outdoor equipment, chairs, boardgames, books, etc) There are 3 other places on the island but no one was there during our week, and even if they were there you be hard-pressed to hear them. Where the dock is located it is about 75 yards across a shallow bay (pulled quite a few northerns out of here) to the next set of cabins/docks. We were worried about getting out there with all our gear, and we even had a communication issue (our fault) with the caretaker and it was very easy to find our way out there. Water was a little rough, but you are behind islands on a marked path (know your buoys) and do not see much of any big water, so it was smooth sailing. Caretaker was a great guy and came and checked on us, and shared some stories. Lot of fun, great fishing, and would recommend to any group that wants an adventure. Defiantly rustic but has the creature comforts of home!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Your Review is Pending Please read and confirm your review for Property #67450 below. Review #1489315 If you like to Fish... ... well then my friend, this is the place for you. The comfortable cabin has $ million views of one of the finest fishing spots in the North America. You will love the dock space. It will easily accommodate more boats than your party could possibly need. The well made dock is wide enough to handle that flurry of activity usually experienced as your party scrambles about while preparing to shove off early every morning. From this beautiful location you will literally be minutes away from the spot where I boated a 44” pike. It’s only a 15-minute trip (with a 25hp motor) up to a point in Canada where netting 50+ fish a day (smallmouth pike and walleye) can happen to you too.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

For two summers in a row, my family and I enjoyed this great cabin. Our first summer there was so enjoyable, we reserved two weeks for the following year. The fishing was great, it was a short boat ride to the mainland, and only about 10 minutes drive from shore to town. The cabin was spacious and clean, and was easily accessible from the docks. The fishing was superb, and we loved the opportunity to fill our daily limits, while having enough for dinner each day, as well as take some back home to enjoy. If it were not for our desire to use our yearly vacation time to visit other parts of the country, we would most certainly call this place home on a yearly basis. Perhaps some day, we will finally decide to do so. Thank you Mary Laura for being such a kind host, and allowing my family to enjoy a place that your family has created as their second home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.
