The Ellmann House was built in 1892 and is one of the older residences in Fish Creek. The house was built of materials that were shipped to Fish Creek and hauled by hand from the municipal dock by one "little Andy Anderson". It was the summer home of Clarence Darrow for five years. The home is included in the historical District of Fish Creek.
The Ellmann home is surrounded on three sides by a porch. Ellmann House is close enough to be able to walk to the many local attractions; the beach, the shops, the State Park, and several restaurants, yet it is on a dead end street which limits access to the home. Directly out of the driveway is a path which leads to the Creek (Fish Creek) and several trails which allows one time for exercise and reflection.
