LOW SEASON DISCOUNTS IN EFFECT! RENT THE PROPERTY FOR AS LOW AS 800 PER NIGHT!

Lowest rates are for up to 10 guests. Larger groups will be subject to slightly higher prices, but still significant savings from our peak season rates!
The original school house that served Manzanita and the surrounding community beginning in the 1920s. Property has had very few owners and has been lovingly restored. The house sits on over one acre, located near the top of Laneda Avenue, safely outside of the tsunami zone. The house can sleep a lot of people, has two full kitchens and is outfitted with everything to make your stay enjoyable. We have two BBQs, a new ping pong table, outdoor gazebo, new TV, indoor and outdoor games and more.

Come stay with us for a family reunion, gathering of friends, health or work retreat.

Please be aware - no pets are allowed anywhere on the property. Also, no smoking on property.

Off-season rates will vary based on group size.

We are licensed by Tillamook County as a 'Short Term Vacation Rental'. Permit 851-19-000052-STVR

Family Reunion 2024!
Seventeen of us enjoyed a week in the cool coastal climes of Manzanita. We had plenty of room for cards and games and to all eat together. It was nice to walk down to the beach. The hosts/owners were extremely eager to make us comfortable.

A dream reunion
Far flung family came together at this wonderful property. Everything you need for all the ages and stages. The kitchens were godsends, the place was spotless, there were abundant towels. Some of the rooms are arranged like Jack-and-Jills: 2 bedrooms (one queen, one w 2 twins) with a shared bathroom between them. Perfect for wee families! The primary suite is dreamy. And there is a large eating room off the kitchen so all 19 of us could eat. Only drawback to the property at allllll was the proximity of the highway. Would NOT stop me renting again or recommending 💖

The Family Loves This Place!
We spent almost a week vacationing in this interesting, historical property. We had 20 family members staying here and never felt crowded. There was plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked with all the basics that we needed. The beds were comfy. The kids (and even some adults) had a blast playing night games on the huge lawn almost every night. The ping pong table was also a hit with the kids. I woke up to the sight of 3 deer grazing in the yard one morning, it was beautiful. If we are ever back in this area we would definitely like to stay here again.

Awesome property!
We stayed August 4-8 and loved everything about the property. The owner had the home we’ll stocked with everything we needed and the outdoors were perfect for games and just hanging out. All guests had their own bedroom and there were thoughtful upgrades that did not take away from the rustic feel of a schoolhouse, right down to the room numbers above the classrooms (bedrooms). My only complaint is the water pressure but still met our needs. This property is highly recommended for families!

Perfect family reunion venue
Our stay at the Manzanita Schoolhouse was magical. We easily accommodated 20 of us -- comfortable open spaces with lots of places for conversations, games, laughter. The property was immaculate. Jon was gracious and positive in our text exchanges and solved a minor problem super-quickly. It was just a perfect stay, and we are already talking about the next time we will stay here. 20 pairs of thumbs-up for the Manzanita Schoolhouse!

Family Reunion
Our family of twenty, ages 2 to 77 years met at the Manzanita Schoolhouse for a long awaited reunion. We were delighted to find that each family had comfortable, private bedrooms and baths. The gathering areas accommodated our varying ages and interests; kitchen and dining rooms were well stocked and allowed us to prepare meals and dine together. The outdoor space was a wonderful place for grilling, playing games and visiting. The location is close to the beach and town; however it is necessary to cross the highway requiring caution. We highly recommend the Manzanita Schoolhouse.

Anniversary/birthday party
My husband and I celebrated our 50th birthdays and our 25th wedding anniversaries this year and we wanted to invite friends and family to stay with us and enjoy the coast. My mom lives down the street but we needed a bigger space and this was ideal. Above the tsunami zone with plenty of rooms and bathrooms. Loved falling asleep to the sounds of frogs. Friends from out of state were able to fit in day trips to canon beach and Tillamook. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was adequate. I appreciated the oven thermometer because the oven knobs are loose and it’s hard to know if they’re at 400 or 350 as you can wiggle them over a 50 degree range without any resistance.

Amazing
Loved the property inside and out. Loved the location. It is secluded but steps away from town and the beach. We loved the big yard. The set up of bedrooms and bathrooms worked great for our large group.

Excellent House on the Coast
Wow, this house doesn't disappoint. The location is perfect and private. The local offerings around the home from outdoor sports, ocean and beach access to excellent shops and restaurants. We highly recommend this home to large groups!

Great Place
This place worked out pretty well for our group. We had a group of 30 somethings to a 93 year old with a walker. Beautiful grounds and the school was set up very nice. There wasn't much to not enjoy. The rooms were nice with ample bathrooms. Kitchen well stocked and accommodating for a large group. The owner was great in quickly responding to fixing a blown breaker and answer a couple of questions we had. We would go there again.

Great House in Manzanita
What an incredible house in Manzanita. Perfect for our large group. The double kitchens come in very handy when cooking for the large groups that we had. The outdoor areas are beautiful and a warm welcome to the Pacific Northwest.

Wonderful vacation
This is an incredible venue. We rented it for a family gathering and had the best time. The Old Schoolhouse is absolutely beautiful, beds are very comfortable and is very well equipped to handle a group.

Perfect location and tons of space
Held my 50th birthday celebration at the schoolhouse and it was fantastic. We loved playing ping pong and volleyball and even got to see some elk visit up close through the window and whole grilling. The property manager Jon was awesome and so very accommodating. It’s the perfect combination of being in manzanita but having a place to retreat to from the tourist crowd. Highly recommend.

Expansive Property with 10 minute walk to great beach
The property was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. With a family vacation including grandparents, kids, and grand-kids we particularly enjoyed the privacy of a expansive back yard lawn. Beds were comfortable; kitchens well supplied, the family great room allow for most of our 15 to be in the same place at the same time.

Fantastic For Fun!
The Old Schoolhouse provided exactly what we needed for our family gathering. It was more spacious than we expected and well equipped with everything we needed! Jon and Chris handled everything very well and Jon was quick to respond during our stay the couple times we needed assistance. We loved the indoor and outdoor space —- the firepit, BBQs, games, ping-pong table, great table for large puzzles, huge living room with great TV and comfy couches, and well equipped kitchen were all great when we weren’t across the street exploring lovely Manzanita, the beach and all the other close by points of interest. Don’t miss the short drive and hike to Short Sand Beach! We are SO glad we found the Manzanita Old Schoolhouse for our week long reunion! Thank you Jon!

A great group location
We stayed with a group of 20. There were four families with children from 9 months-19 years. The property outside provided a great venue for group games like, frisbee, kick-ball and 9-square, campfires, duck-duck-goose and outdoor meals with seating for 30+. Really a great space. Many many games are provided along with 4 barbecues. There is plenty of parking. A hose near the parking made it easy to clean off after the beach. The walk to the beach was about 0.75 miles from the house or an easy <5 min drive. Parking in town was never an issue. Crossing the "street", Highway 101, from the property was a little sketchy, but doable if alert and able-bodied. Road noise is noticeable while outside but not distracting, I never noticed it inside. Inside the home is really where the place shines brightest. There are many many bedrooms that can easily serve as a retreat from the group if anyone needs a break. The kitchen was very nice and had lots of storage and cookware and dishes. We could have done well without any disposable items that we used for convenience. There is an old house smell that is noticeable, but not bad. Downstairs smells a little musty. The space downstairs is fun. We loved the new ping-pong table and used it a lot. The extra kitchen and small living room served as a great hideaway for the teenagers. The extra space downstairs could really function independently if two groups wanted some relative privacy. Owners were very helpful and responsive. My wife is very sensitive to smells and is a bit of a stickler for cleanliness. She said it was cleaner than she expected it would be. After she and my daughter-in-law talked about the cleanliness for a few minutes in detail I would not have thought possible, they came to a final grade of 4 out of 5. We would definitely go there again!

Our family purchased this wonderful property nearly five years ago. It has had only a couple of owners since serving as the school for the local community in the 1920s and 1930s. We are native Oregonians and have a long-term residence in Manzanita.
