Looking for a large, comfortable vacation home for your family or group, with lake views and a hot tub? You have found the perfect place - located just 5 minutes from Tahoe City, but far enough away from town to get that true mountain feel! Located at the end of a cul-de-sac and backing directly to National Forest- it’s the perfect place to relax after a day of skiing, hiking, Biking or sightseeing.

The home has six nicely appointed bedrooms with soft sheets, fluffy pillows and cozy down comforters. Three have great views of the lake, forest and trees, and in the kid's rooms there are plenty toys and games for the little ones. We allow a maximum of 14 guests.

You will find a heated hot tub located in an indoor/outdoor solarium so you can either stay warm inside or open the giant sliding doors for lake views, cool air, and star gazing.

The great room has a comfortable seating area with a wood burning fireplace, a 50' flat screen TV with HD Cable, DVD, VCR and stereo. The floor to ceiling windows look out to the lake and National Forest. The large dining table seats up to 12 people with eat-up counter space in the kitchen as well. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to prepare your meals, and all appliances were updated to new stainless steel in August 2015.

The loft, which overlooks the great room, is a perfect retreat to check email, enjoy the view, or send the kids for a movie. The mud room is "super-heated" with dual heating vents and is the perfect place to dry out wet ski gear at the end of the day. And in the garage you will find plenty of snow sleds to keep the kids happy for hours.

Our cabin is only 15-20 minutes from Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Homewood ski resorts, and about 5 minutes to Tahoe City shopping and nightlife.

Page Meadows is two blocks away for fantastic snow shoeing and cross-country skiing in winter and hiking and mountain biking the rest of the year. For summer fun, the closest beaches are only a 5 minute drive.

There is a large deck looking out over Lake Tahoe to enjoy barbeques and relaxation. Do not miss your chance for an unforgettable stay in this great Tahoe Cabin.

Can I walk or bike to the lake?

While it's technically possible, our home is located up very a steep hill and it's best to plan to drive to the bike trails and beaches - only 5 minutes away. Mountain Bikers will enjoy the fire road access to the bike path which is not as steep.

How many cars can you accommodate?

During the winter months (November - May) a maximum of 5 vehicles can park at the property, using one car in the garage and 4 in the driveway. If all vehicles are large SUVs they may not all fit. During the summer, parking on the street is allowed and there is plenty of space.

Can I host a wedding or event at your house?

Unfortunately, our home is not large enough to accommodate large parties, so weddings and other events with more than 14 people are not allowed.

Should I bring chains?

Our home is located at the top of a rather steep hill. The private snow removal company contracted by the Talmont neighborhood does an excellent job at removing snow, but often times, the drive up and down is slippery. Unless you have a 4 wheel drive with M+S tires you should definitely plan to carry chains during the winter months. Also please note that Caltrans often imposes "R-2" chain controls that require all vehicles in the Tahoe area to carry chains by law.

Do we need to climb stairs to get to the house and bedrooms?

For guests with issues climbing stairs - our home has 2 bedrooms located on the main level. To access the main level of the house, you must go up 6 stairs from the front door. Once you are on that floor however, you will have access to the great room, full bath, two bedrooms, the deck and the spa. The other three bedrooms are located another 1/2 flight up, and the master bedroom and loft are located on the second story.

Why Kerry chose Tahoe City

The Sunnyside/Talmont area is close to downtown Tahoe City and ski resorts, but far enough away from everything that you get that true mountain cabin feel. The home backs up to National Forest with beautiful views to Lake Tahoe. The living room has a two story wall of windows looking out to the lake that provides lots of natural sunlight and warmth.

What makes this cabin unique

We wanted to be able to share our Tahoe home with friends and family, which was one of the biggest reasons we chose this house. It's set up perfectly to host 3 families or several couples. Our home is very comfortable, cozy and warm. It has a large central great room for gathering and bedrooms that offer plenty of privacy for guests.

Spacious, well-maintained house with a big central gathering space and six separate bedrooms.

  • 5 of 5

We are six guys who have been getting together for an annual long-weekend trip for 35 years. This house suited our needs perfectly. It's away from the lake, but on the edge of a national forest with hiking trails, and has an almost-great view of the lake (blocked partially by the house across the street), a nice big deck for outdoor dining and an open kitchen/dining/living area. Neat and tidy, and very comfortable.

Last Hoorah Tahoe 2017

  • 4 of 5

Our group of four families just returned from our stay and had a great time. The home is very nice, well equipped, close to hiking trails with a good view of the lake. The owner was great and provided us with many local tips and check in and out was a breeze. Close to Sunnyside and Tahoe City and the Lake. We would definitely recommend this home for large groups. Now back to school :(

Perfect House for us

  • 5 of 5

Met for the July 4th weekend with family at this beautiful house in Tahoe City. We loved the location and the home was very equipped and well laid out. The kids loved the indoor hot tub and we loved that it was connected to the house. The beds were all very comfortable and we loved the fact that the rooms were well separated. Our family shared one wing of the house with three bedrooms and it was perfect for some privacy at the end of the day or in the mornings while getting ready. The neighborhood is lovely and the home backs up to miles of forest. We literally went hiking right from the backyard. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a nice get away in the mountains. Far enough away from things, but close enough to Tahoe City to be near the action.
