About Jeanette Dutton

Robert Ullmann for over a decade was creating upscale residential neighborhoods in the urban environment of Atlanta. About five years ago he started talking about changing gears and started to make his first trips to the Western North Carolina mountains. What he figured out fairly quickly was that he had begun to fall in love with the natural beauty and restorative lifestyle of Western North Carolina.

Jeanette Dutton purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Jeanette Dutton chose Smoky Mountains

Robert began to explore the possibilities of creating full-amenity, environmentally sensitive mountain communities planned and built in harmony with their natural surroundings. “There’s a reason people are drawn to these mountains,” says Robert Ullmann, who built a new home for his family in Wildflower. “The wrong kind of development can destroy that; the right kind can help to preserve it. This is not just about higher elevations. It’s also about higher standards.”

What makes this cabin unique

Wildflower has 4 private gated entrances, private paved roads, underground utilities, hiking trails and common areas, and additional amenities tailored to its specific size, topography and personality. Robert built the Wildflower Cabin's of Cabin Cove for the enjoyment of our guests and to explore all that Western North Carolina has to offer. The community is just a few minutes from excellent highways, with area attractions and top-quality health services nearby. And the Wildflower Community offers unbroken, high-elevation views of the national parks and forests that form the very heart of Western North Carolina.

Fall weekend

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four adults and four kids stayed here four nights this past weekend..we were in the area looking for property and to visit friends...this cabin approach is not for the faint of heart...I am very nervous in winding roads and sheer drop offs.....it doesn't bother my daughter and son in law, who lived in Asheville for years..this cabin is Way!! up there!!! It is as beautiful as pictured, with plenty of room for ten...well appointed with everything in the kitchen you could need...beds are comfy, fireplace is nice, it was very clean...My husband and I are older, and the only complaint I have is the noise level upstairs in the kid's bedroom and bath is directly transferred through the floor to the master suite....these log cabins are impossible to insulate I guess, but if you go to bed early and the kids are upstairs tromping around, maybe stay downstairs!!! All in all, this cabin is as described and very comfortable...easy access to Franklin and surrounding areas....just be forewarned if heights and narrow winding roads are not your cup of tea..esp at night...Also, I have a bad hip at present and there are just a couple steps into the cabin and if you stay in the master you are good to go....if mobility is a problem....Also the manager is very helpful and is easy to reach by phone if you have a problem or question...

Fourth of July Trip

  • 4 of 5

Recently visited Wildflower Cabin 3. First let me say the cabin is beautiful, secluded and kept very clean. And, Jeanette was a pleasure to work with. However, there are a few things that made the stay less than perfect. First, the air conditioning was not working on the top level. Although Jeanette was quick to get us a window air conditioner, it was quite uncomfortable for the room on the adjacent side of the home. Second, the day we arrived we found out that the bathrooms were not working at the clubhouse. And, it turns out, that they did not work for our entire stay. Third, the pictures on VRBO show a firepit on the property, which is correct. What they neglect to tell you is that you have to share it with the folks in Cabin #2, since it is in the middle of the two homes. Never got a chance to use it. Lastly, when we took our first shower in the Master Bath on the main floor, it leaked into the downstairs bedroom onto the night table where one of our guests had an ipad. For these reasons, I cant give it a 5-star rating.

Gorgeous place!

  • 5 of 5

Multi-family vacation in two cabins. Cabins are beautiful, spacious, and extremely clean. Jeanette does everything to make sure your stay is perfect. The area has more things to do than we could get done in a week. Ziplines, shopping in Cherokee and Highlands, waterfall hikes, gem mining, GSM, local restaurants were great!

Beautiful wooded cabins

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. The cabin is back in the mountains quite a ways and fortunately our vehicle is "AWD", considering all the snow we had at Christmas! The 4 cabins are down in a hollow, which doesn't afford mountain views, but does have a beautiful creek running by them. Can't say enough about how helpful and accommodating Jeanette is. She's the best! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

The Best Vacation We Have Had In A LONG Time!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautiful, remote and peaceful. Wonderfully decorated and maintained. My entire family just loved the experience. And Jeanette was just wonderful! So helpful to my family and made our stay truly amazing! I highly recommend this cabin, location in NC -- it's an A+++++!

Cabin 1 is better than expected!

  • 5 of 5

We were the first family to ever stay in Cabin 1 (4Bed/3Bath) in June/July 2010. It is awesome! I true luxury log home with 2 fireplaces, air hockey, hot tub, 2 flat screen TVs, granite countertops throughout and more. Every family member felt like they had their own luxury suite and the mattresses are so amazing we wanted to take them home! Absolutely awesome experience!

The clubhouse is very well appointed and the pool, while somewhat small, was perfect because we were the only ones there every time we went. Nice hiking trail behind the cabin. Lots of privacy. Very relaxing, "lost in the woods" feel.

If you're a gourmet cook, you may want to bring your own carving knives, or ovenware. The basics are well provided, but light on serving platters, pyrex, bakeware.

Best night's sleep I've had in years. Awake refreshed to deer at your window and birds chirping. A great value and well worth a repeat. It's always cooler in the mountains :-)
