NEW LISTING! The Johanna Manor belongs to a professional athlete and is now opened to the public through vacation rentals.
The Johanna Estates Neighborhood has been proclaimed by Santa Cruz realtors as being one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the Santa Cruz County. The neighborhood is unique in that it offers unmatched privacy, luxury, grandeur, convenience, and warmth. Its located only 1.4 miles to New Brighten beach and 2 miles from Capitola beach (the most charming beach town on this side of the bay). Once back at the manor your options are endless. Take a walk or bike ride down the private roads within the exclusive neighborhood. This estate sits on 4 acres and has its own private views of the forest. You may just want to kick back and relax in the hot tub, watch the wildlife off the back patio, or fire up the pizza oven with your family or friends. Looking for more activities? Santa Cruz is known for its world class surfing. Less known is that people travel from all over the world to bike Santa Cruz roads and mountains. One of the premier biking, hiking and running spots in Santa Cruz is Nisene Marks State Park.
If your into Golf, you probably already know that the Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz County boast many of the best courses in the world. For fun the whole family can enjoy, check out the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk, the mystery house, roaring camp as well as many other local attractions.

Mike and Monica were married in 2008 and are always on the move. From Mike's professional career as an athlete, to their multiple business'...the two rarely spend more than a week in any one location. They have been very fortunate to travel the country and travel the world, where they have found many inspirations for their vacation home in Santa Cruz, Ca.
Why Owner chose Santa Cruz County
We absolutely love all the activities, weather and scenery Santa Cruz has to offer. We absolutely love going to the beach. The only thing we don’t like about the beach is the summertime fog that comes and goes. We loved this house because it put us 1.4 miles from the beach but out of the fog patterns so that we can enjoy the beach when its sunny and beautiful but not get stuck at a house covered in fog. The other limiting factor with most the homes near the beach that we looked at was the lack of space. With 4 acres, tons of parking, 2 roads, huge patios, decks and lawns…it provides us with a place to entertain our friends and family without feeling smothered by the next door neighbors or annoyed with the constant flow of traffic to and from the beach. Another thing we loved was the safety, privacy and exclusiveness of the neighborhood. An added benefit to the house that we realized after we moved in was that it was right in the center of all three Santa Cruz villages.
What makes this Estate unique
Privacy, luxury, space, views 1.4 miles to the beach less than 3 miles to any of the villages (Capitola village, Aptos village, Soquel village) exclusive neighborhood feeling of getting away while still being conveniently close to everything.

Great Stay! Pizza over was a blast!
We stayed for a long weekend. Property was great. Perfect location. Nice and quiet get away from the city and close enough to local stores and restaurants. The outdoor pizza oven was a blast!
Our stay at the manor was amazing!!!
Where do I start ?!!
9 adults and 2 super-tiny toddlers stayed at Johanna manor over a Weekend in March.
We all loved the place to stay, relax, have deep conversations, bake Pizza, enjoy fire and so on ...
The view outside ,in the morning , was just speechless. If it was warmer outside , we would have spent the entire night counting stars and spotting galaxies in the clear sky - instead we spent only an hour.
My interactions with Monica were super. She provided all information I needed and clarified all my doubts. The place is as described .
It's a perfect place for a bunch of friends to have a wonderful stay, and enabled me become a good pizza maker =)
A great reunion in a beautiful place
This is a spacious and comfortable home well situated in gorgeous country. Beautiful ocean views and Redwood forests are just outside the door for peaceful morning walks. Almost adjoining the property is an extensive park with many trails were we enjoyed running. The neighborhood is very quiet and the house feels secluded. A short drive took us to miles of beach for long walks, bird and seal viewing, and sunset watching.
Our family enjoys cooking together, so the large, well-outfitted kitchen was a big plus. One drawback was an oven that didn't seem to work properly, but everything else was fine. All the small appliances we wanted were available as well as the regular kitchen tools and dishes. The highlight of our cooking experience was the pizza oven. We found it easy to use by following the instructions from the website and it was a lot of fun to try something new. Besides, the results were delicious! Again, all the equipment needed was provided and we found wood available at the nearby Safeway.
Although it rained heavily one entire day, that didn't bother us as we cooked a big dinner together, played cards, did a jigsaw puzzle and enjoyed each other's company. Then the sun came out for the rest of our stay and the weather was spectacular.
Beautiful location and great property.
Overall, the amenities were great and the location was pretty ideal. You feel like you're in a remote mountain home yet you're close to everything. The furnishings were comfortable and worked well for our family. The pizza oven was a huge bonus so we used it one of the nights to make pizzas for everyone. We had some issues with the dishwasher and stove but everything else seemed to work well. None of the windows had window treatments so it may be tough to sleep in past 7am, for those that want to. We have little kids that wake us up so it it wasn't a big deal.
Wonderful and Relaxing stay!
We loved Johanna Manor and look forward to going back as SOON as we can! It was very comfortable and well stocked! The pizza oven outside was a huge hit...very fun!
Property was excellent, everything was in very good order when we arrived, and the owner (Monica) was super-responsive to questions about things like the TV.
