Overview

About the property

The Cabin Has 2 Bedrooms And A Loft, 2 1/2 Baths Lots Of Glass Pastoral/mtn View

Our log cabin is 1800 sq ft finished on an unfinished basement. The great room has two story cathedral ceiling of knotty pine, as is the flooring. There is a wall of windows with french doors accessing the deck and overlooking a 10 acre pasture with woods on both sides of the house. Try a little easy rocking on the deck rocking chairs, binoculars close to hand as the farm birds play and sing. Once in awhile you can see our red tail hawks landing in a locust tree out across the pasture. Below in the pasture by the stream is the barn made from the rough cut lumber cut from trees that grew where the cabin sits. The great room has a dinning area and table that will seat 6-8 persons, and for your cooking pleasure there is a fully equipped kitchen separated from the dinning area by a breakfast bar. The great room is heated and cooled by a zoned heat pump, and a vented gas fireplace with a stone surround is available for the cool early mornings or evenings when that little extra coziness adds to your comfort. There is a large master bedroom with reading area, walk-in closet, and a large master bath. The bath has garden tub, a glass shower and double sinks.

Upstairs is a loft with a second bedroom which has a queen bed and a reading area with a view of the forest behind the cabin. There is , also, a queen size futon that will sleep 2 adults in the open area of the loft. These two areas share a full bath. There is a writing nook and a reading library in the loft. The loft looks out the large windows in the great room.

Tree Dance Farms consist of 20 acres, 10 pasture and 10 woods and a gurgling little stream that runs across the rolling pasture. We welcome guests to explore the forest around the cabin via the hiking trail and sit awhile at the meditation garden(which is in progress) down by the stream.

For great hiking, fishing, and bike trails Turkey Pen Road, an entrance to the Pisgah National Forest, is 0.2 miles east on 280 from Limousin Road ( turn right).

The name, Tree Dance Farms, comes from the swaying of these old, so very tall trees when the wind blows, as though they dance to music heard only in the wind. We are located in a rural area not far from stores and restaurants and recreational activities, but far enough to have our privacy. Keep a look out for the famous white squirrels, natives of Transylvania County( Brevard) .

About Jack Grant

My wife, a newly retired neonatal nurse, and I have a medical implant business plus a real estate business and a construction firm. We have lived in the area for about 25 years and prior to that lived in various areas of the US. We moved to this area for business and colleges (our kids), and we have really grown to love it. After a few family vacations at the beach using VRBO we were very pleased with the convenience and cost savings of renting someone's home. We also like to travel and the last few years have rented homes in various areas of the world. We have chosen this opportunity to share our lovely cabin with other families who want the great variety of outdoor activities found in western North Carolina. We are your vacation destination.

Jack Grant purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Jack Grant chose Pisgah Forest

Some friends had this property in their family for a good number of years. They decided to sell it and trusted us to take good care of it. It is a beautiful rural area and we stay here whenever possible. Our main home is about 30 minutes away near Asheville and having this property allows us some solitude. Also, I get to have another toy, a tractor. The grass has to be cut. Our grandchildren (11 1/2, 10, 8 years old) love to ride bikes up (mainly down) the hill and play in the stream, and build forts in the old rhododedron woods. We imagine great sledding for when there might be snow.

What makes this cabin unique

We have access to this quiet, sweet land for running away when the business of everyday living grows too crowded. Then, we are within easy driving distance to any of the many activities this area has to offer. Waterfalls! Dupont State Park, Sliding Rock, local theater, tubing, zip lines. Be in a trout stream in ten minutes from the cabin or riding a trail bike in same area. Blue Ridge Parkway is about 30 minutes away. The Asheville Tourists baseball team in season, Bele Chere street festival in Asheville, downtown Hendersonville dance music and vintage car shows during the summer, Apple Festival Street Festival in Hendersonville, Biltmore House, and much more.

Tree Dance Farms lives in Pisgah Forest area of

Transylvania County, home to mountain views that catch your breath. As the sun sets in the evening the colors come straight from the paint box with vibrant peach, pinks, and dusty blues. The morning brings the promise of waterfalls and hiking paths with territory yet to be discovered. Or, it may be the quiet cup of coffee on the deck as you rise to the morning sun and birdsong. It's your time and your choice. Barn on property can be used as a rustic wedding site.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is just gorgeous and immaculately clean. The owner, Jack, couldn't have been more helpful. He even responded by phone when we asked for ideas for a rainy day. Everything you could need is stocked in this cabin. The bucolic view from the deck (complete with goats, a horse, and couple big white dogs), as well as some very comfortable rocking chairs, made for some nice peaceful days. You are at least 30 minutes away from Asheville, but other beautiful areas surround you. We especially enjoyed the hike and waterfalls at Dupont Forest. Too bad this rental may not be available much longer, (Jack is planning to move in), but I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Beautiful: inside, outside and all around!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved everything about this get-away! First of all, the cabin is the cleanest, nicest VRBO rental we have ever stayed in - and we are picky! The cabin had a beautiful layout, was well stocked with towels, cooking supplies, even umbrellas for the one rainy day! Jack was great to work with and kind enough to meet us at the local grocery store to lead us back into the cabin upon our after-dark arrival. Jack made recommendations to restaurants, hiking trails, breweries, shopping and more!

Second of all, the area was so quiet and beautiful, away from the city but still easily accessible. We visited downtown Asheville, the Biltmore Estates, downtown Brevard, Looking Glass Falls, High Falls, and Triple Falls - all within a 35 minute ride (or hike to High and Triple Falls). We highly recommend this area and especially this cabin! Thank you Jack!

Wonderful Cabin Within Easy Drive of Asheville Area Attractions

  • 5 of 5

This cabin and its location are awesome! Jack and his wife take pride in this property, and it shows. The cabin is well maintained and very clean. With a bedroom on the main floor and another upstairs, this was a perfect configuration for the two couples that were sharing the cabin. The kitchen is well equipped, and even has some basic supplies provided. The cabin is only a short drive off the main highway, and once you are there it is very tranquil and relaxing. The view across the meadow makes you feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere, far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We thoroughly enjoyed touring around Asheville, and were glad Jack had suggested that we visit the Pisgah Inn - the views are gorgeous, and the lunch we had at their restaurant was very good. We enjoyed our stay, and were sad when it was time to pack up. I would heartily recommend staying here. Jack was extremely easy to work with, and very helpful.

Our family (with three small children) had a great vacation. We came to avoid the hurricane and discovered a wonderful place near the forest and Asheville. A lovely cabin in a perfect location.

Beautiful home - the pictures don't do it justice!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough about this fabulous property. The home is beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. And the property is just as beautiful. Plenty of green space, animals to visit, lots of quiet, and great views of the stars.

The owner Jack was great - sent us lots of ideas for our stay in advance and took time to walk us through the house and provide even more local tips on our arrival.

The house isn't the easiest to find in the dark - it's a tiny road and there are no lights (other than the fun twinkle lights on the house's deck). Jack was kind enough to meet us and lead us in despite the late hour of our arrival.

Definitely recommend this house!

Worked out perfectly!

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this cabin for the weekend of the solar eclipse. Loved it! The owners met us at check-in and were incredibly patient and helpful in answering all of our questions. Everything was in excellent repair, very clean, and well-stocked. The view from the upstairs loft was both relaxing and enchanting. This cabin would be ideal as a writer's getaway. Also, the balcony is perfect for a morning cup of coffee. We even saw one of the areas famed white squirrels from there!

If you have any hikers in your group, there are lots of trails and waterfalls nearby. Only 15 minutes from Brevard and 30 minutes from Asheville, there was far too much to see and do in one weekend. I'll be very surprised if we don't end up going back again for another week - or two!

With VRBO/HomeAway properties generally, working wi-fi seems to be hit or miss. At Tree Dance Farms, it worked for us the entire stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend this property.
