Why Benton Jones chose Brewster
You will find that our home is perfectly situated to take advantage of all that Brewster has to offer. We are close to Cape Cod Bay, Nickerson State Park, Ocean Edge Resort, the Bike Trail and a private, sandy, association beach on Blueberry Pond. We live in a safe neighborhood and our driveway is off a private road.
What makes this House unique
I believe you will fall in love with our comfortable, open, sunny home with a private backyard and prime location. It is also a great advantage to be able to take our canoe out on Blueberry Pond at your convenience.

Comfortable home with backyard haven
Benton and Jana met us when we arrived and gave us a quick tour of their open plan home. It was welcoming and comfortable. There were 2 air conditioners working as well as fans to circulate the air, which made coming in from the 90 degree heat bearable. They are readily available, as we discovered when we had a mishap with a mirror. They were understanding and generously told us not to worry about it.
Their new appliances were a pleasant addition. The backyard was an absolute haven. Their natural monarch butterfly habitat brought us much pleasure.
As it happened, a few days into our stay a tornado struck, and while we were not impacted, our son’s family staying in Harwich was without power for just over 2 days. It was then that I discovered that
the kitchen was probably the best equipped one I have ever utilized, since I fed them for those 2 days.
All in all, we really enjoyed our vacation stay at Benton and Jana’s home. I would definitely return again.
Great Time As Always
We love this location! It's so close to the beaches and the bike trail.
The house has everything we need and serves as a great home base for our family!
We rented this house for 1 week to stay down the Cape for the first time. Few things we were unhappy with... Only 1 AC unit in the house (master bedroom) We felt the description was misleading. Also tons of ants on the counters and around the sink. Front walkway weeds could have been pulled or trimmed so they don't brush against your arms as you are walking into the house. Otherwise we had a great time. Location is just a few minute drive away from the beach. Owners were pleasant to deal with.
I am sorry you felt our property was "Just OK!" We try very hard to make your stay easy and fun. I believe the problems you mention could have been resolved simply if we were given the opportunity to do so. May I respond to the items you were not happy with...
AC Units: We have two AC units. A powerful one is installed in the master bedroom, the second unit we do not install until we feel the weather is warm enough to call for it, or by request. This allows the window to be freely opened.
Sugar ants: Tiny sugar ants are sometimes tricky to eliminate completely, especially given that we do not use chemical pesticides in our home. A spray bottle of white vinegar and water is labeled under the sink to discourage invaders.
Front walkway weeds: I believe you are referring to the yellow flowers lining our walkway. It can be a little narrow, especially after a rain, but we put a lot of effort into maintaining a balanced feeling to our country home.
Again, I apologize these issues were a bother to you, and would have liked to have had the chance to make things "right" for you while you were here.
Wishing you the best on your next vacation,
Benton and Jana Jones
Fantastic Rental Central to Everything
We stayed at this house in the late part of June 2015. My brothers family and ours decided to get together on the Cape for a week. The owners of the home went out of their way for us educating us on where the best beaches were and other attractions to see as we are not people who frequent the Cape, with one of our families traveling from Colorado. The house had all the required kitchen amenities needed. The backyard was spacious and the kids loved running around out there. We had 2 dinners on the deck which also were fantastic. We only had to drive one minute to a very secluded beach per the directions of the owner. Perfect Beach I have to say. We went there everyday. Bedroom situation was perfect, the home was spacious. The home is also very close to the State Park for those who might want to have an adventure there and the owners also provided us with access to the private lake and the kids loved canoeing there and I was able to catch some nice fish. Should we find our way back to the Cape for something like this again we will certainly be seeing if we can stay there again.
Brewster is known as the "Sea Captains Town" because in the 1800's many sea captains made Brewster their home. With nine bay-side beaches, the pristine Nickerson State Park, and its clean freshwater ponds, you can understand why such worldly travelers settled here in Brewster.
There is an endless variety of activities to choose from locally, including simply relaxing by the shore. I personally love to go to the bay and swim while the tide is rolling in over the hot sand flats. It is like taking a warm bath! The tide is quite dramatic here on the bay, raising and lowering 10 feet every six hours and moving about a third of a mile out and then back in again. There are only a few other places in the world where this phenomenon occurs: on some beaches in Nova Scotia and in Normandy, France. The combination of the warm water and the sand flats, with its many shallow puddles full of small sea life, make it a favorite spot for families with young children.
Another geographical anomaly you will find here are “Kettle Ponds.” These are ponds that were created by glacial chunks that melted at the the end of the last ice-age. As the massive ice cubes melted, they made deep indentations in the landscape, giving the resulting ponds a kettle-like shape. Cliff Pond in Nickerson State Park, for example, is over 100 feet deep. This depth allows these ponds to connect directly to the aquifer, giving them a clean, blue hue, and with their sandy beaches, make them wonderful places to swim.
