As you open the door to Mahana 1009, an elegant entrance and art-filled hall lead you to the living room of your spectacular oceanfront tenth floor corner two-bedroom Mahana suite. You realize you are surrounded by floor to ceiling windows displaying Maui magic on three sides. To the front and side, the endless waves of the blue Pacific fill your view. The back windows overlook the magnificent Maui mountains and the manicured lush tropical vegetation of neighboring resorts. Though fully air-conditioned, you will probably want to enjoy the island breezes and sounds of crashing waves by leaving open the sliding glass doors.
Meticulously and lovingly furnished in contemporary Pacific Rim style, tasteful and original art from Japan, China, Indonesia, and Bali has been lovingly and generously placed throughout this spacious two-bedroom Mahana unit of 1450 square feet of living space. Don’t miss the locked antique painted chest which our real estate agent assured us was previously a container for the firearms of a Chinese baron (hyperbole, no doubt!). Another painted antique Chinese cabinet contains the new HDTV with DVD and VCR capability.
As beautiful as this Mahana unit is, the functionality of the new wide screen TV and your IPOD driven music system, accommodates the most sophisticated entertainment desires.
The comfortable wrap-around double couch not only will accommodate two adult nappers, but also converts to a Queen bed for two children or a third couple. The painted Chinese antique chest and end table provides storage for additional bedding.
One of our favorite things to do is to open up the living room and front bedroom doors to the lanai and enjoy the depth and breadth of this gracious living experience in this two-bedroom Mahana suite. Watching sunsets directly in front of you over the islands of Lanai and Molokai from this vantage point is like being in the middle of the sunset like no other unit we have ever seen.
The elegant and fully-equipped Mahana kitchen features cherry cabinets in a coriander finish, exquisite Juparana Del Sol granite countertops, and sleek stainless steel appliances. Everything needed to either dabble in cooking or prepare full meals for the family is provided, including all necessary pots and pans, utensils, dishes, flatware, coffee maker, toaster, and blender.
The large granite serving area is perfect for entertaining or just serving your own romantic dinner. The glass top dining room table seating six has comfortable chairs for spacious dining comfort. From your magnificent living room, the sea literally surrounds you in unparalleled grandeur. With the sea-swept sunset out the west windows, the north windows are ocean-filled and capped by the island of Molokai and the beautiful Pacific cascades out the south windows in front of the island of Lanai results in an incomparable true Hawaiian experience.
Mahana 1009 has two master bedrooms. When you enter the master bedroom that is on the ocean side, you are immediately overwhelmed with the view of the rolling Pacific that fills two-thirds of your window frame and reflects off the mirrored back wall. The magnificent burled king size bed from Bali with a lush new pillowtop mattress provides the most luxurious sleeping Maui has to offer. The Asian décor is continued both with the blue and white Chinoiserie bedding and lamps and also with the art throughout the bedroom and bathroom, including the burled display cabinet filled with art glass. Your Mahana master bedroom TV is sitting on the smaller of two very spacious bureaus in a Polynesian caned design. The golden bamboo floor is the perfect backdrop for this relaxing and elegant room.
Adjoining your room is the spacious sink, bath and dressing area which includes a full double closet for hanging and also shelf storage. On the opposite wall is the washer and dryer and additional shelves. The Juparana del Sol granite covers the counter and features a sleek black glass floating sink. The bathroom is completely tiled.
