  Our family-15 of us-just spent a week in Cabin "A" at Bates Cabins for our son's wedding. Everything was beyond perfect! We hosted the rehearsal dinner on the big deck for 70 people. Hung white lights,rented tables, had fire in fire pit-it looked absolutely "magical"! Everyone was very impressed! Carl Bates and his son Keith were very helpful and accommodating. Even just "relaxing" in the cabin or on the deck was perfect. Of course, everyone loved the hot tub!Plenty of beds and room to move- absolutely breathtaking views. People have posted their pictures on fb of our gorgeous "cabin". It was very easy to get to and parking was not a problem. We highly recommend this or any of the other Bates cabins (family members also stayed in other cabins). Cash's smokehouse catered th reh dinner-brisket was excellent!!

  thank you bates family for such a great time while i visited my family from 6/23-6/27...........you guys run an A++ show. Views were barnone, fishing was incredible and the accomadations were a 10 out of 10. I definately will be back if not to visit bates cabins but to live there myself!!!!!!!! thank you again and if you need a reference feel free to call or email anytime............

  We had a lovely family reunion 2 summers ago. I still rave about the cabin and tell everyone considering the North Carolina area seriously consider staying in one of your cabins! EVERYTHING you could want or need has been carefully thought out by the Bates family. The cabin was TOP NOTCH, the area beautiful and peaceful, but with plenty to do and see close at hand. The many waterfalls in the area are something you won't want to miss! The gem mining was fun. There were deer and hummingbirds everywhere. We had a really wonderful time. I have stayed at other places, but NONE compared with this amazing cabin. If you are considering staying in the area, DO NOT HESITATE staying here!! Lisa and family West Palm Beach, Florida

  Over the past 30 years we have stayed in many vacation cottages. This is by far the most enjoyable of them all. What a great place for children. Mr. Bates is the perfect host and we will visit him again. He helped us celebrate my mother and father's 70th anniversary. Thank you

  Several members of my family stayed with me at Cabin #1 July 9-11. We loved the beautiful furnishings, play area for my brother's younger children, and the gem mining opportunity. I have stayed few places with such a personal, warm and friendly touch, and was quite impressed. We had extended family in another cabin who joined us for mining. We will definitely be making referrals, and look forward to staying again in the future. Thank you for everything!

  We had a wonderful vacation. The cabin is beautifully decorated and furnished with everything top-of-the-line. We really enjoyed gem mining and just relaxing on the porch. Everyone loved the bird feeders, especially the humming birds. I would reccomend this cabin to anyone that enjoys a vacation in the mountains.

  WOW, what great memories we made The kids will never forget their first North Carolina trip they loved just sitten by the fire playing games at night.The house was georgous,Clean very accomodating and the cleaning lady was so efficient and helpful when we arrived. We hope to make other great family memories there.

  Enjoyed my time at the Bates Cabin #1. I have had the privilage of being entertaind by the Bates and while there enjoyed the sensational view. The mountains are breathtaking and the color changes by the hour as the sun passes overhead. Cabin one has an added benefit, if you are a rockhound, a chance to find a precious valuable Ruby of your own. Mining is provided on the property and the gravel is virgin. The view from cabins # 2 & 3 can only be appreciated by visiting them. These are truely gems of lodging set high upon the mountain side with a grandious view of the valley below, and the area in general. Peace and quiet abound here, with all the creature comforts. Activities galore in the surrounding areas. You won't be anxious to depart this setting. Enjoy !

  Our Christmas Vacation was wonderful! The cabin comfortably accommodated the ten of us. The location was just beautiful. If you plan to stay here, be sure to see The Biltmore in Asheville, ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, eat at The Dillard House in Dillard, GA and shop in all of the great little small towns. The Bates' are very nice people and this cabin is very nicely furnished and extremely comforable. They've thought of everything! We had a great family vacation. You'll not be disappointed! Thanks so much for the great memories!
