Why the Owner Chose Grand Lake
This is the 2nd biggest lake in the state and it is near the ski area that gets the most snow and best snow around (even more than Vail)! The town of Winter Park and the Village of Grand Lake always have something going on - jazz and art festivals, etc.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The view and being right on the lake is amazing - we have seen hundreds of elk, moose,antelope and many fox. This is a great lake with nesting eagles and it is beautiful year round. We snowmobile right on the lake in the winter and love to sail in the summer.
Owner's Map of Grand Lake
I grew up sailing and skiing and wanted to find a place that allowed for both. We also love the golf courses nearby - four great courses! I also love to telemark ski at Mary Jane and Winter Park and also cross country ski at Devil's Thumb resort or in Rocky Mountain National Park.
This was the perfect location due to the ease of getting here from Boulder and Denver - and I get to avoid the traffic jams for the other ski areas that require travel on I-70. It is also beautiful driving through Rocky Mountain National Park - always something new to see!
