Care to enjoy a week of fun in northern Wisconsin? Our beautiful executive log home located just west of Land O' Lakes, Wisconson, provides lodging that you can feel right at home in. This newer home, on beautiful Landing Lake, is fully equipped with kitchen utensils and linens. The Bear's Den Lodge is 1550 square feet, with three bedrooms, two full baths, and offers storage in the basement area. Just bring your own disposal items and we will provide the rest. Two other lodges are on property, but not featured here: Moose Lodge and Eagle's Nest. Eagle's Nest is the only lodge that allows pets. It books fast and is already booked for 5/6/12 through 10/21/12. Reserve early or buy your own permanent fractional ownership share of five weeks. Ask us for which lodge is available and further pictures of Moose and Eagle's Nest will be made available to you.
We have great fishing out your back door and you will enjoy the pier, kayaks, canoes and paddle boat that are provided. If you choose, you can rent the shared use of the pontoon boat for $250/week. Our cabin is air conditioned for those warm summer nights, and our stone covered fireplace is cozy when the temperature drops. The loft and large windows facing the lake are part of the charming full log construction of the cabin. The lodge sports its own fire pit and chairs lakeside, as well as a large upper deck toward the lake.
With 26 acres at the end of a road, and over 700 feet of frontage, though we're only a few miles from town, one feels like they are in the middle of the woods. And in fact you are. Nicolet National Forest and Ottawa National Forest cover much of the area surrounding Land O Lakes and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Located close to the snowmobile trails and only 20 miles from Eagle River, Wisconsin,the snowmobile capital of the world, you can enjoy the many winter activities the area offers. Watersmeet, Michigan, 10 miles the other direction offers a casino, cross country skiing, a nearby downhill ski area and golfing.

- Pet Friendly : Eagle's Nest Lodge is pet friendly. The other two lodges do no allow pets. Our calendar shows openings for at least one lodge, but the pet lodge may or may not be open. The pet lodge is already booked from 5/6 to 10/21/12. Shares of Eagle's nest are available for purchase that may allow openings during this time period. .

Our cabin has been professionally decorated and has all the amenities of a full kitchen, fireplaces inside and out, and a beautiful lake to play in. We love the Northwoods and all of its forests and lakes, and know you will too.
Why the Owner Chose Eagle River
Land O Lakes is a small community of less than 1000 people, laying on the border of northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Our town is well named, with dozens of lakes surrounding it. Great Winter Escape

Our family spent three relaxing days in the Bear's Den cabin over the 2011-12 New Year's weekend. We enjoyed our stay and found the home to be warm and inviting. The cabin is located well off the highway near two other homes on the shore Landing Lake. Due to chilly temperatures, our outside activities were limited to some sledding and a walk across the ice to a nearby island. Inside, we enjoyed the gas fireplace, flat screen TV, DSL (albeit slow) Internet and modern kitchen. With the exception of the kids' mattresses, the furniture and beds were in great condition and comfortable. Despite being somewhat remote, the cabin is located in close proximity to a number of decent supper clubs and local watering holes where you can grab a decent meal. While we aren't gamblers, there is reportedly a casino located approximately 10 miles away. A snowmobile trail parallels a nearby highway although I can't comment on its upkeep since our riding began and ended in Eagle River where we rented sleds. For those who enjoy XC skiing, we enjoyed an afternoon on the groomed trails near Anvil Lake in the nearby Nicolet National Forest. All-in-all, the Bear's Den was a great place to "drop off the grid" for a few days and I would commend it to anyone looking for an alternative to a resort or chain motel.
