  We had a fabulous 3 night stay at Sea Myst. What a great view of the crashing ocean waves and abundant wildlife from the sunny afternoon deck. Within an hour after arriving, we saw several deer and a jackrabbit bounding across the meadow. Also sighted were hummingbirds, robins, Jays, a heron, and 3 pelicans among countless other seabirds riding the winds of Sea Ranch. The home has all the comforts needed to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings - if a hot tub, in room electric fireplaces, bikes, cable TV, a reading loft, close proximity to the Del Mar rec center aren't enough for you, then you can't be happy anywhere. This place has everything you need. The bed is super comfortable and there are plenty of books throughout the home should you find yourself wanting to curl up and read. We lucked out and had 3 warm days of sunshine - we did get a roaring fire going on the last night there as it does get chilly when the sun dips down. The Black Point Grill is a gem, as is Trinks in Gualala (which had been closed for the week prior - whew!). Two Fish Bakery was not open the whole time we were there - ahhh, this leaves something for next time. Can't wait to return to this beautiful private paradise! So close, yet so far away.   We enjoyed our stay a lot. The house is very comfortable with many thoughtful details attended to, good value. The real star is the setting. Turn right out the front door and you at the beach in a couple of minutes. Turn right again and the trail on the bluff along the ocean goes on forever. Incredibly beautiful. The dog was in heaven and so were we.

  Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

  We loved staying at Sea Myst. The location was perfect and the house was very cozy and easy to live in for a few days with our two dogs.

  A charming Sea Ranch home that I would re-visit in a heartbeat. The owners were very accommodating and even jumped in to take care of a couple unforeseen problems when we first arrived. Waking up with the spectacular ocean view and the sound of the waves was particularly memorable and I'd say this location on the ten mile stretch of coastline is one of the best. Trails to explore all along the bluffs and two beaches that were almost always ours alone to enjoy and it was an added bonus to have bicycles available to explore the coastline on private roadways away from Highway 1. This was my 8th time in a Sea Ranch rental and as stated before, I would return to this home happily. It may not be the newest or most opulent but it was very nicely appointed, comfortable and suited our every need to a tee.

  Very nice master bedroom with view of the ocean and the moon setting while we slept. Clean and everything functioned very well. Nothing fancy (except for the hot tub!), the window views of the ocean speak for themselves - really great location and great views. Best place in the world for hiking along the coast, the cabin is situated 3 or 4 minute walk from the beach - the best beach to roam at Sea Ranch. Just two adults on this trip, plus our dog. Four adults would be a little tight, but ok. We had a wonderful three night visit.

  Yes, the description was right on. Well, sort of ...because actually seeing it in person FAR EXCEEDED my expectations! That must just be the owners being modest about their lovely home *grin* This short and sweet vacay was a surprise for my husband's birthday and after being in the car for about 2 hours I think he started to realize that we weren't really going to have lunch somewhere in Sacramento. Once we arrived, before we even walked through the front door he made a comment about how perfect it would be to schedule a work retreat there with his buisness partner and his partner's wife and the two of us *Ana shoots, Ana scores*. Mouths agape as we walked through and around the property, he comments "This was well worth the drive" *Ana shoots and SCORES AGAIN* Did I mention that he hates surprises? It was an epic vacation spot. Neighbors were not seen or heard (mid-week). The dogs had the time of their lives. The deer were freely walking the property. The beaches were closer than they appeared in the pictures posted. The hot tub was delightful with easy-to-control buttons (temperature was easy to adjust, so you can cook like a lobster at 104 OR bump it down to 101 for a preggo like me). The house was clean but cozy and the master-bed is SO comfortable you will just doze off the moment your head hits that pillow! Don't get me started on how special the library/loft was above the kitchen. The icing on the cake? The owners. Everything went so smoothly to get this property booked. Highest recommendations.

  Dear John and Lucy, We LOVED Sea Myst. Watching the migrating whales from your wonderful deck was awesome! Everything we needed for a perfect vacation was included in your beautifully, comfortable home. Walks on the nearby beach, soaking in the hot tub, bicycle riding on the numerous paths, listening to the surf while sleeping in the most comfortable beds. And the view! A panoramic view of the Pacific right from your living room and bed room! A++

  Hi Lucy, Your house was wonderful! I felt like I was entering my own house, there were so many familiar touches - like the Buddhas and garden shrine, some of the books, the music, and the very well- equipped kitchen! We've stayed in a number of vacation rentals all over the world, but yours was the one that was the most comforting. Sea Ranch is an exceptional place, and you are lucky to own property there. Seeing the wildlife, gazing at the stars from the hot tub - well, we probably sound like all the people who spend time at your house - thrilled. It was great to be away from the city, the lights, the noise and congestion. A real retreat. I hope we can come back again some time. The drive is a bit daunting - four hours from San Jose is a long journey for a weekend. But I felt it was well worth it. Thank you for all the wonderful touches. You forgot nothing in your attempts to make your guests feel pampered, comfortable, and at home. Warmly, xxx

  Just a note to say that your place was wonderful and all that you said it would be. Did you order that extra special weather for us? It was beautiful, sunny, warm and no wind. The best I have ever had at the beach. We also got to miss all the smoky conditions from the fires. Our friends also pass on their compliments. We had a very good "get away"
