Location: Lake Lure, Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA (25 miles from Asheville)

Accommodations:  Log Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5+ Baths (Sleeps 9)

Our cabin, " Camp-View Cabin ", is newer and was built Oct. 2004. It has lodge-style decor, and set in a wooded neighborhood, with Lake Lure access. The open swim area is located a short walk down a gravel road and past a quaint waterfall. (You can also get there by car). There you will find a beautiful setting with wooden docks, picnic tables, a gas grill, lounge chairs, and a kayak rack that holds two kayaks for your use.

The cabin is located 3 miles from the shopping towns of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. The dramatic Rocky Broad River flows alongside the town where you can enjoy walking into an old general store, many shops and restaurants that are full of gifts and goods with that good old mountain flair. Chimney Rock Park is right there in town (check out their website.)

Within an hour are such spots as Historic Hendersonville, culture-rich Asheville (home of the Biltmore Estate, The Grove Park Inn and Spa, and the Blue Ridge Parkway). Sliding Rock, many waterfalls, and marked hiking trails are also around the area for the nature lover.

Camp-View Cabin is located on property that was once a 100-acre youth camp, with its borders on one of the most scenic parts of Lake Lure. The rock-faced Rumbling Bald Mountains rise toward heaven from the meadow on the west side of "camp", and can be seen from the window in our cozy loft.

In addition to the commonly seen fish, turtles, ducks, and squirrel, are deer and wild turkey, which roam freely in the camp. On rare occasion you may spot a raccoon, fox, bobcat or even a bear.

This cabin was built in 2004, with a vision that people might come here to escape the busy life back home and have time to enjoy the simple things - love, relationships, and God's beautiful creation. Enjoy!

  • This cabin was wonderful! We were so close to Chimney Rock and the town of Lake Lure. Everything is new and clean, and there were even a few toys for my 2-year-old. Thank you for a great get-away!

  • We rented this cabin for Thanksgiving, 07. The cabin is nicely decorated and immaculate. It exceeded our expectations. We were celebrating some milestones plus Thanksgiving, and all went perfectly. They supply paper products and condiments and I loved having the instructions on everything to put us at ease. The fireplace is wonderful and helps with the atmosphere. Rent with confidence.

  • We were a little apprehensive about renting a cabin from the photos alone. However, your cabin was exactly as described on your site. I really needed this vacation. We caught fish, relaxed, went to Chimney Rock and Cherokee. Your cabin is very lovely.

  • Great place - highly recommended. The house is beautiful and well kept. Lots to do around the area - fishing, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, and just resting. Nice place for kids. Our teenage boys loved it. The mountains are a great vacation spot. Randy and Beth did a great job as hosts. Can't loose by picking this one.

  • We just stayed here last weekend with another family, 4 adults and 3 little ones, there was plenty of roomm and we all LOVED it. It is set up so cute, and cozy. There were toys for the kids, games and puzzles for us, 2 dens to hang out in and truly a full kitchen. They have everything to make your stay perfect. The front porch has 4 rocking chairs and the back porch has 2 adirondack chairs and 2 like them but without the foot rest, plus a picnic table on the porch and one in the back yard. The lake is a 4-5 minute walk, and they have 2 kayaks there, our husbands went out on one and had a great time, just remember the paddles for it are under the back porch before you take the walk down, we forgot :D There was so much to do around that we could have stayed for 6 more days without being bored, even just spending time in the cabin was great. We will be going again for sure, just got back and already checking the availability calender.

  • Our family had the recent pleasure of spending a week in this wonderful log home. We have a teenage son and a daughter in college. Both were on spring break. We have stayed in many vacation cabins over the years. This one was easily the best. It was so well supplied, there was little else we had to add but food! This is a great layout for a family--with great common areas as well as private spaces. What a peaceful setting, too. We enjoyed the private boat dock area with kayaks. The walk past the waterfall was always inspiring. We appreciated the Christian atmosphere of the home, as well as the no-smoking and no-pets provisions. The home served as a perfect base for exploring the area of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. For a terrific meal, don't miss Larkins On The Lake. We hope to be back soon.
