The house was spacious and very well-equipped - the best we've seen amongst the several homes we've rented. The owners have created a wonderful private and quiet space just a few blocks from ocean and bay beaches. We enjoyed the house, the neighborhood, and the short drive to Sea World and hope to stay again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

This house was perfect for my extended family. The house was clean and well stocked everything - logs in the firepit with matches to light them and condiments and ziplock bags for bag lunches. There were pool toys, floats, buckets, and bubblemakers for the kids big and small. The house was quiet at night and my parents enjoyed night time walks on the beach. It was also close to the attractions with convenient parking for two cars. A fantastic stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

This house was the perfect setting for getting our entire family together. We had 6 adults and 4 kids all under 7 years old. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. The location made it perfect to get to and from the beach a couple times a day. The best part was the heated pool! We all had a blast on the diving board, the water slide and the jacuzzi. The house had everything we needed from washer and dryer to alumiun foil. We cannot wait to come back. The owners were very responsive, easy to book with and answered all my questions. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

This was our first trip to San Diego and with 3 generations of family it was important to find a large home with amenities. Our expectations were exceeded in a big way. The master bedroom suite is spectacular with a huge shower and separate tub. There were plenty of beds and bedrooms for the entire family and we were only a 5 minute walk from the beach. The location made it easy to get to almost any tourist location in the San Diego area. Since we had quite a few people, we cooked many meals in the house. Every time we needed a utensil, pot, pan, measuring cup, etc., we found it. We have stayed at many vacation homes over the years, but the owners of this one went overboard in making sure that we had everything we needed to cook, store leftovers, and do laundry. Our favorite part of the house was the swimming pool area. The kids loved it and used the diving board and slide every day. The adults made great use of the jacuzzi, and the grill was top notch. It had plenty of room to grill multiple items for a large family and was nearly brand new. We had so much fun at the house that we preferred to spend an extra day hanging out rather than going to Sea World or another amusement park. The owners of this home were also very responsive to questions prior to rental, sending materials once we signed the agreement, and returning our security deposit after we returned home. We highly recommend this home and will definitely stay here during our next San Diego vacation.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Every year my children, their spouses, and children have been gathering for a family reunion at the beach. In January, when the decision was made to return to San Diego I started searching for a place to accommodate 8 adults and 7 children ranging in ages from 10 to infants. After some digging I luckily located the Pacific Beach Bungalow. Even though it was not exactly on the beach or bay it was less than a 10-minute walk. The selling point for the grandchildren was the heated pool with a slide. The house was extremely clean and well stocked. There were plenty of pool toys, beach chairs, coolers etc. It was an easy walk to Ralph’s, Starbucks, and the local eateries. Bob and Sue even assembled the crib and pack-in-play for our twin grandsons. Child safety gates were also available. Our stay was perfect! My family has stayed in lots of beach houses and this was their favorite because it felt more like a home than a beach rental. Contact the owners. You will not be sorry.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

We had our annual reunion in So California and stayed at this property. It was fantastic, the entire group loved the pool, house and closness to all activities. The owners were within a phone call away, and the weather was perfect. We recommend this property to anyone who wants a great time in Pacific Beach and a great vacation rental experience. Home was very clean and well maintained. Pool maintenance was excellent and the proximity to grocery and attractions within a short drive.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children.

My family and I have been coming to San Diego for the past five summers. We usually stay at a hotel on the beach, just a few blocks from this rental. Over the years the hotel location has become less desirable (loud at bar closing and in the early daylight hours, questionable persons hanging around the property, etc.). This year we decided to rent a house instead. My mother fell in love with the pictures of this rental last year and made plans to use this as our rental this year. The family (total of 10) studied the pictures and got more and more excited in the weeks that lead up to the trip. We were not disappointed. The location is perfect. Close to Pacific Beach, Mission Bay, Sea World and all our favorite places. The street dead ends just past this house, so there is not a lot of traffic or noise. The house is beautiful and well stocked. It was very easy to relax in the house. The pool and spa were a great feature, especially since it was cool when we were there. The kids loved it. The beds were comfortable and it was easy to get a good night's sleep.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Spent a week with my extended family here. It was a perfect setup, great location, and the pool/backyard/firepit/grill made it a great experience. The owners were more than accomodative by getting us in early, providing items for our baby, and returning our deposit very promptly. I'd recommend this place to anybody with a sizeable group looking for a nice relaxing time.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

12 of us came together from LA, Seattle and New Zealand and stayed in this wonderful house for 3 nights. We had 6 adults and 6 children (all under the age of 9) and I cannot say enough how wonderful and comfortable Sue and Bob's house was. There was plenty of room for all of us, the kitchen was wonderfully appointed, Trader Joes was very near by, the pool was awesome, everything was perfect. If we're ever back down in San Diego, I will be checking to see if Sue and Bob's house is available for another stay! Thank you Sue and Bob for opening your house to us!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

The home is actually larger and more spacious than it appears in the photos. The home has wonderful amenities, is very well stocked, and is very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need including a vast array of spices, oils, vinegars, sauces, etc. I had thought we would need to bring our own paper towels and extra TP, but that was also very well stocked. Sue and Bob did a great job at making us feel welcome in their home. The house is charming with neat old pieces, family photos, etc. The room with the bunks and full beds was larger than I had expected and my family of 4 slept there. My sister and her boyfriend had the downstairs room, and my parents had the Master. Those 3 rooms all have their own bathroom. The 4th room has a full and twin so we could've comfortably slept a few more people! Aside from everything the house itself has to offer, it is in a great location. 2 blocks and you are at the Beach Boardwalk - we took advantage of it daily! We will be back as we visit San Diego regularly! Thanks, Sue and Bob!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1978
About the owner: When we retired several years ago, we began to make our home available to vacationers. Our home is a classic 1910 Craftsman Style Bungalow which we remodeled in 2008. We still live here part-time and enjoy taking road trips both near and far.
Why the Owner Chose Pacific Beach:
Beginning in the 1960's, we both worked in San Diego and always lived in the beach area. We knew we wanted to stay and find the perfect home to raise a family. In 1978, we were fortunate to find our PB Bungalow. Now, with the children grown and gone, it feels more like a vacation home to us. Whenever we leave on trips, we always look forward to returning because there's just no place like home - especially ours.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
If you've come to enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay, our home is the place to be because it's just a short walk to BOTH of them. No driving needed. No parking problems. And our backyard pool offers the perfect ending to a day at the beach or a busy day of sightseeing.
