Why the Owner Chose Pacific Beach
Beginning in the 1960's, we both worked in San Diego and always lived in the beach area. We knew we wanted to stay and find the perfect home to raise a family. In 1978, we were fortunate to find our PB Bungalow. Now, with the children grown and gone, it feels more like a vacation home to us. Whenever we leave on trips, we always look forward to returning because there's just no place like home - especially ours.
The Unique Benefits at this House
If you've come to enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay, our home is the place to be because it's just a short walk to BOTH of them. No driving needed. No parking problems. And our backyard pool offers the perfect ending to a day at the beach or a busy day of sightseeing.
Children's playground is located nearby right on the bay with swings, slides and climbing structures perfect for the littles ones plus a grassy picnic area with restrooms and a designated swimming are
A continuous pathway around Mission Bay on foot or bicycle, connects to the boardwalk on the ocean for miles of beautiful scenery and enjoyment
Stroll through its beautiful gardens and enjoy their fine dining or lunch on the bay
Owner's Map of Pacific Beach
When we retired several years ago, we began to make our home available to vacationers. Our home is a classic 1910 Craftsman Style Bungalow which we remodeled in 2008. We still live here part-time and enjoy taking road trips both near and far.

We had our annual reunion in So California and stayed at this property. It was fantastic, the entire group loved the pool, house and closness to all activities. The owners were within a phone call away, and the weather was perfect. We recommend this property to anyone who wants a great time in Pacific Beach and a great vacation rental experience. Home was very clean and well maintained. Pool maintenance was excellent and the proximity to grocery and attractions within a short drive.

My family and I have been coming to San Diego for the past five summers. We usually stay at a hotel on the beach, just a few blocks from this rental. Over the years the hotel location has become less desirable (loud at bar closing and in the early daylight hours, questionable persons hanging around the property, etc.). This year we decided to rent a house instead. My mother fell in love with the pictures of this rental last year and made plans to use this as our rental this year. The family (total of 10) studied the pictures and got more and more excited in the weeks that lead up to the trip. We were not disappointed. The location is perfect. Close to Pacific Beach, Mission Bay, Sea World and all our favorite places. The street dead ends just past this house, so there is not a lot of traffic or noise. The house is beautiful and well stocked. It was very easy to relax in the house. The pool and spa were a great feature, especially since it was cool when we were there. The kids loved it. The beds were comfortable and it was easy to get a good night's sleep.

Spent a week with my extended family here. It was a perfect setup, great location, and the pool/backyard/firepit/grill made it a great experience. The owners were more than accomodative by getting us in early, providing items for our baby, and returning our deposit very promptly. I'd recommend this place to anybody with a sizeable group looking for a nice relaxing time.

12 of us came together from LA, Seattle and New Zealand and stayed in this wonderful house for 3 nights. We had 6 adults and 6 children (all under the age of 9) and I cannot say enough how wonderful and comfortable Sue and Bob's house was. There was plenty of room for all of us, the kitchen was wonderfully appointed, Trader Joes was very near by, the pool was awesome, everything was perfect. If we're ever back down in San Diego, I will be checking to see if Sue and Bob's house is available for another stay! Thank you Sue and Bob for opening your house to us!

The home is actually larger and more spacious than it appears in the photos. The home has wonderful amenities, is very well stocked, and is very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need including a vast array of spices, oils, vinegars, sauces, etc. I had thought we would need to bring our own paper towels and extra TP, but that was also very well stocked. Sue and Bob did a great job at making us feel welcome in their home. The house is charming with neat old pieces, family photos, etc. The room with the bunks and full beds was larger than I had expected and my family of 4 slept there. My sister and her boyfriend had the downstairs room, and my parents had the Master. Those 3 rooms all have their own bathroom. The 4th room has a full and twin so we could've comfortably slept a few more people! Aside from everything the house itself has to offer, it is in a great location. 2 blocks and you are at the Beach Boardwalk - we took advantage of it daily! We will be back as we visit San Diego regularly! Thanks, Sue and Bob!

My family and I spent a week in the house and could not have been happier with it. All of the rooms are spacious and well furnished, the kitchen is extremely well equipped, the living room is comfortable and has a huge flat screen TV. The bedrooms are great for old and young and the master bathroom is luxurious to say the least. We really enjoyed the pool and spa, the kids spent hours hopping between them. The house is a few minutes walk from both the beach and the bay but is still on a quiet street which was great. The drive accommodates at least two cars so parking is not a problem. We would rent this house again in a heartbeat. In addition to the house being fantastic, I managed to leave a jacket in one of the bedrooms. After I arrived home Sue emailed me to let me know and shipped it back to me promptly. The house and it's owners certainly exceeded my expectations on this one.

The Modells have made this a special place that we really enjoyed. Well maintained, and very comfortable for our family of 9. The pool was wonderful as we did not have the greatest of weather but, the heated pool was used extensively once we figured out how to keep the ducks away. Good location with food stores near by, quiet street, and ocean and bay within walking distance. This really is a exceptional rental and we highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates a high quality place.

My family had a wonderful week here at the beach bungalow. The house was perfect for our family to gather after a 'Celebration of Life" for my Dad who had recently passed away. We all felt at home. The house was done very tastefully with all the modern convenieces that you could want but also decorated with period furniture that made it more than just a rental house. It felt like a home. We walked the strand at the beach everyday, going for coffee, to the beach and to dinner. Everything is within walking distance. We rented a boat at the marina for a few hours and cruised Mission Bay. Parking was really never a problem.. weekends during the beach time would be hard though. There was enough room for 2 SUVs in the driveway. Three smaller cars could fit. The pool was perfect for my nieces to jump into after the beach and we used the jacuzzi in the late afternoon and evenings. The fire pit was also a nice touch. There are TV's in every bedroom and a huge big screen in the den. I was able to use their wifi with my laptop in the little office area. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and cooking pans. More than my own home. All in all...a wonderful, homey place to stay.Sue was readily available if we had any questions.
