Million Dollar View From This Condo

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this condo for a week. We arrived after dark and the condo's lights were on and music on the TV was playing. The kitchen was well equipped. I make and freeze food before the trip and check the bag and having the full size refrigerator/freezer was ideal. It also allowed us to freeze ice to make some frozen tropical drinks with the awesome ninja blender that was in the condo. There is also a full size oven and a microwave. The condo was well stocked with plenty of silverware, cooking utensils and pots and pans. I traveled with my brother who slept on the couch and I slept on the bed. My one and only complaint would be that I found the bed uncomfortable but everyone is different. It was nice that the bed could be pushed up into the wall to open space up during the day. The condo location was awesome, it took about a half a minute to get to the sand. There was an attendent daily for the chairs. We did venture to the pool a few times and the area was nice, clean and quiet. We had some trouble because to get into the condo complex there is a gate. It just so happened that someone was coming in behind us when the taxi was dropping us. There must be a remote for the gate and our taxi followed them in. I am unsure how this would work with a rental car but to walk in through the entrance a code was also needed. Ive traveled the USVI many times and its possible to get around St Thomas without a rental car. The taxi to and from the airport for 2 was $40 total (which was above the stated rates on their government website) so it may be less depending on the driver. 1 thing I have learned is to ask before getting in. Otherwise we took the dollar taxi into Tutu for the few groceries we didn't bring. Sapphire Beach is my favorite beach on St Thomas so there was no need for us to explore other beaches. We took the ferry over to St. John which is a completely different atmosphere. We took the dollar taxi to the ferry dock in the morning and then took a normal taxi back due to us arriving back after dark. The taxi back from the ferry dock was $8 total for 2 people. There is a beautiful beach that you can hike to from the ferry dock in St. John. So there is no need for taxis here either if you don't want. Overall I would highly recommend this condo. Pam was awesome to work with, she returned all of my emails within a short amount of time and was also very friendly. We also spoke with Norma the caretaker our first day and she also was very pleasant. A+

Most of the particulars have been covered in previous reviews and were definitely true. Pam's unit is very clean, and extremely functional. It does look much better in person than it does in the pictures! Location is FANTASTIC! Beach is FANTASTIC! Snorkeling is pretty FANTASTIC! Our whole trip was basically FANTASTIC!!!! Sapphire beach is a real find for those seeking a quiet, beautiful, relaxing vacation. It seemed like a few extra people made their way to the beach on cruise ship days but other than that you pretty much have the beach to yourself. Unit was fully functional and even has flatscreen TV with numerous channels (didn't really use it much though). Rod Hook is very close for supplies, restaurants, and ferry excursions. Overall Pam's unit will meet all of your needs and is an EXCEPTIONAL VALUE!!!!!!! Will definitely return in the future! I travel extensively through the caribbean and this is definitely a little hidden gem :)

Paradise - 40th Anniversary and 60th Birthday Celebration!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I arrived after dark and Norma(the caretaker) had the lights and music on to welcome us which we so appreciated! The condo was lovely, kitchen well equipped and bed very comfortable. The beautiful Sapphire Beach is just steps away, beach chairs were always available and the snorkeling was awesome. Pam(the owner) was so very nice to work with. We have wonderful memories of our time spent there.

We definitely hope to come again.

Young couple, first time in the Caribbean - LOVED our stay

  • 5 of 5

For our first vacation to the Caribbean, my girlfriend and I crossed our fingers and booked Pam's place - hoping we had made an ok decision. Now that it is (unfortunately) all over, I can honestly say this was the PERFECT place for us. The price was right. The location was right. And renting so close to the beach made for a perfect atmosphere.

It's a large, very well maintained studio apartment that I wouldn't recommend for more than a couple. We did not rent a car and DID NOT regret it since getting to and from Red Hook is very quick and easy (pick up the $1 bus there, $8 cab ride total back). We were able to get to St. John (spent two separate days there), eat, and grocery shop (so we didn't have to eat out all the time) in Red Hook all very easily. Also, being located at Sapphire Bay was great to spend a couple more relaxed days on the beach. For those interested in island hopping or other boat trips the Sapphire Marina is within walking distance and has a good amount of excursion options.

We absolutely loved our trip and using this rental was a HUGE reason for our fantastic experience. If you are similarly minded and want to mix sightseeing and relaxing this would be a perfect place for you too!

Year Five and Still Counting :-)

  • 5 of 5

After booking our fifth season this coming July at the condo, we have to say we can't think of any negatives and just want to reiterate all the good things we said after our stay last July, 2014 (scroll down to Tony and Sally of SW Florida). It just keeps getting better!
