The BlueRock BeachHouse with private pool and , was designed for the modern professional family. The home was a model of green construction, utilizing,traditional Hawaiian materials in innovative new ways. The striking gourmet bamboo kitchen was fabricated from recycled material. The solid 2 1/2 lava countertops make reference to the iconic Volcanoes. The coral stone used in the central island and bath rooms is filled with the islands fossils and shells. The stunning hand scraped ipe, or iron wood floors are also reclamed wood. etc. These indigenous materials are juxtaposed with the latest plumbing and applliances to produce a minimal, high tech, yet warm framework to observe the beautiful gardens and nature in the backyard surrounding the pool, with some of the oldest trees, and luscious flowers remaining in South Maui.

Eight people can stay in full size beds with luxury hotel mattresses.

For an additional fee you may add up to 4 more guests with an extra person fee. They can sleep in the italian pull out sofa sleeper located in the master suite or one of the two queen air mattresses that are often placed in the large master closet.

Also there is a folding single nova foam sleeper that is divine, but not recommended for an extra large guests because it is narrow.

I am the owner, architect, and interior designer.

Initially I designed this vacation rental a green model home for traditional Hawaiian homes that required a modern green remodel!

Nicole purchased this house in 2004

Why Nicole chose Kihei

This property is so popular because of it's unique location.

It is the only vacation rental property available in the sacred centrally located local neighborhood, where you can walk best places, that are not over priced for the tourists in Wailea. Yet, Nicole has provide the interior style and amenities she uses for her resort clientele who pay considerably more to stay in Wailea, but do not experience the rich culture of her neighborhood!

What makes this house unique

Driving up to your own house with parking, pool, and so much more relaxed then a resort, or gated property where must constantly show security your clearance, to go back an forth from the same beaches as this house. Also, having the same luxuries as home, like a gourmet kitchen, laundry, in addition to your own pool and BBQ, WIFI, HBO/showtime/IPad docks etcs, make this house a dream without the huge bill at the end of vacation that you dread!

Great time at the Maui beachhouse

We were a group of 12 that had a wonderful time for 9 days at Nicole's house. Nicole couldn't be there herself but had assigned a neighbor to help us and he was very responsive and friendly. The house itself is in the best location in a quiet part of Kihei, close to beaches, grocery stores and restaurants. The pool is great but not heated, so perfect for a hot day. We spent a lot of time outside the house anyway, so it didn't matter to us. The house has everything you will need, extra beds, linens, all the towels and beach towels you could need, a well stocked kitchen, parking for 3-4 cars and plenty of space for a large group to hang out. It was a bit tight for 12 people, but we are flexible group. All in all we loved our stay at Nicole's property!

Owner's Response: Sumier was a wonderful and organized guest who could not have been nicer. I am sorry I did not get to meet her on this trip to Maui. I hope she will come back. My housekeeping staff and Jamal my told me that she was extremely clean and neat, which always makes the my team happy as they are paid by the job , not the hour. I like to know that my guests cared for my home, and let me know .

This was a good location and the caretaker was attentive. Some issues remain unaddressed.

The Blue Rock Beachhouse is in a good location. It is in a residential neighborhood away from the resorts. We walked and rode bikes to shops and dining and beaches. Our group had 6 adults, two children and an infant, so we were pleased with the four bedrooms and 3 baths. Only the master bedroom was big enough for the pack-n-play, however. There were two pack-n-plays available but there was not a high chair, which was in the description and pictures of the house. There were tons of towels for the beach, and the beach chairs and umbrella were all in great condition.

The pool was a hit with the kids in our party and was even cleaned during our stay. Upon our arrival, however, there were some local children swimming in it. A bit of an odd way to start vacation but it was fine.

I had read reviews of extremely hot water in the showers. This remains an issue. It was unsafe, especially trying to bathe an infant. When the water wasn't scalding hot, it became cold very quickly.

Anytime we had issues other than the water, the caretaker was responsive and pleasant.

The cable and internet were off when we arrived and it was fixed a day or two later. The internet connection remained an ongoing issue. If we were able to connect to it, it was very slow.

Owner's Response: I am sorry you experienced this problems. I came back to Maui to solve the problems and restore my A-team, and dismiss the employees that did not do their jobs in good faith. I am sorry that both Jamal and Nicole Ryan took advantage of me, and charge me for extensive work, that was not done, or done improperly. After several surgeries , I am back on Maui updating , the BlueRock Beach House, and replacing the plumbing fixtures many guest found difficult to use. Kristin, I am sorry I did get to meet you but your detailed review let me know that my employees were intentionally misrepresenting the work done and billed to me. I want future guests to know I have corrected these problems.

Love Blue Rock Beach House!

We just came home from a trip to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday and had the best time! The Blue Rock Beach House was the perfect place for our family. The house is clean and was comfortable with plenty of places to sleep for all of our family members. The pool is one of the best parts - it was amazing - the perfect temperature and the most fun spot for the kids. The area is also amazing - we loved Kihei! You can walk to the beach and plenty of shops and restaurants. We especially loved Belle Surf coffee - make sure to ask for Zack. He is the coffee king! Thank you Nicole, for a wonderful stay and for the many memories we made at the Blue Rock Beach House. Mahalo!

Great location, house was not kept up. At one time, probably was a nice rental.

Rented house for a family vacation with 10 family members for a total of 10 nights. First night roof leaked in master bdrm & hallway. There was also water under the home coming up onto the hall flooring. Messaged owner and she had manager come pump water off roof next morning. No manuals in home to explain how to work apliances. Biggest issue that plagued our trip was the showers in all 3 bathrooms always had scalding hot water. No way to adjust temperature. Messaged manager & owner and was told it was because of the solar. How could we know? Only way to get a decent temp was to let water run for 30-45 minutes before you took a shower. Super inconvenient when you're trying to shower up after going to the beach and/or swimming. We had 10 people. Messaging the owner became a lost cause because she became combative with us. No apology, everything was an excuse. The home was rented before our stay and was basically just surfaced cleaned. In between renters, the home isn't cleaned well. We took pictures & video. One day the county showed up because of permitting issues (?)

Owner's Response: Home Away has dismissed this guests complaints. I am surprised they are published on the site and they are slanderous, AND NOT INFORMATIVE! "Do not contact me ever again! Do not veil your harassment, and abuse as a review. You are consciously trying to harm me over and over and over . You are stupid enough to give believe you are qualified to speak about my Misrepresent your identity to HomeAWAY, by using an alias. This is HARASSMENT with intention to harm! 1. Since his departure I have had Steve's Solar company come and recalibrate all the showers. He also added a new valve to the solar hot water tank that verifies all water fixtures are at the proper temperature, and all mixing valves are working properly. 2. The roof never leaked. Unfortunately the condenser in the air-conditioning unit needed to be services because this guest ran the AC 10 decrees below the allowed temperature, and probably left the doors open because by NEST SYSTEM show the data. This is no longer an issue, because the AC unit was serviced within 6 hours of his complaint .t There were water drops condensing on the ceiling, there never was a leaking roof. The guest never mentioned that he was not following the house rules he signed and agreed to. 3. I apologized for dust he found under one of the vanities. I immediately forwarded the photo to the housekeeper. I am not certain that he found the house this way. He reported this 7 days after his arrival. He is the first to say the house is not clean. This guest also lied and said I do not have the appliances listed on my add. He would not take listen to any instructions, or explanations. Rather he took great pleasure in complaining constantly, for reasons I can only speculate about. He wanted a manual to use a cook top and the refrigerator. This angry guest who appeared to be drinking a great deal and left evidence corroborating this . Just tell me he knows more about solar systems than me because he has two rentals in CA. In fact his adult daughter apologized to us for his behavior. Because I am a professional in the industry, I tried to be polite and responsive to his ludicrous complaints. I see he calls them excuses. I would not wish him on anyone. He should not be able to rent vacation rental homes and attempt to destroy others businesses. I design high end hotels, and my staff also work at the Four Seasons in Wailea and we did our best to handle this difficult man. Sincerely, Nicole

Our Oasis in Paradise!

We are back from our family vacation in Maui, we had a wonderful time and a huge part of the success of our trip was this house and it's incredible location in Kihei. The beds were very comfortable in all 4 bedrooms. The pool was incredible we used it everyday. The BBQ was awesome. The kitchen was well stocked and even had a vitamix blender!! We were walking distance to Starbucks, Boss Frogs, Foodland, restaurants, souvenir shops, and the Beach!!!! The house had a red wagon that my niece loved to ride in to the beach and we used for groceries. Being able to walk everywhere made our vacation even more relaxing. Nicole was great to deal with, she was very friendly and responded to our texts very promptly. I would recommend this place and would love to go back.
