  Swaying Palms is a great place to stay. It was clean and spacious. Yes, it could use a little work and updating here and there but, overall, a really comfortable, very large house to spend time. Being right on the beach was great not only for playing in the surf but views throughout the house. We went to sleep with the sounds of the winds and surf, and woke to beautiful sunrises over the bay every morning. We had 12 people in our group and each couple had their own car (and we had space to park each one of them -- no problem). One of the things we especially noted was that this house was outfitted properly. Not only did they let us use the boogie boards, coolers, folding beach chairs, etc. -- but they also had common and uncommon cooking supplies, spices, and pretty much everything you would need to prepare large group meals. We've stayed at many VRBOs and this one made us feel most welcome. At $6K a week, this is a value most will not find on the island. However, if you really need super modern and updated throughout, this may not be your paradise. For most people, I think you will find it much more than adequate. Beautiful surroundings and happy faces abound.

  I have been coming to Haena for 40 years. This house is the most beautiful place to feel at one with sand, the water,and the Hawaiian spirit. Our entire family came to rejoice in our togetherness one last time before age and illness could dim our spirits. It was a wonderful New Year's Eve. The young people loved the sun, the storms, and the comfort of the home. It is convenient to everything. Walk down the beach to the coffee shop in the morning, and walk to a nearby snorkeling beach later in the day. Our feet were always on the sand ,and the water was only a few feet away. There is no view from any house like this one. Magnificent week! Thank you!

  16 of us stayed here for 8 glorious days. Lulled to sleep by tradewinds whispering through the coconut palms and the roar of the surf just outside our window. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and all we needed for great days (and nights) was at our fingertips. We appreciated the beauty of the grounds, the setting, and the fresh flowers that greeted us upon arrival.

  We flew in from England to meet with our Texan friends. There were ten of us in the house and it worked really well for three families. Everything is there that you need. We especially loved the location and the fact that you feel like you have your own private beach. It's a very long flight from England but was certainly worth the effort. Can't wait to return.

  Swaying Palms was exactly what I was hoping for. We brought our extended family to share time in paradise. Every one of us thought it was great from start to finish. The home location has the right mix of privacy and access to the beauty and activities of Kauai. The house had more than enough room for our four couples and two little ones. The layout gave each of us a private suite with its own beautiful views, all within the larger home having a common family room, dining and the great outdoors. The surrounding beach IS beautiful Hawaii. The home is at the east end of a couple mile stretch of sandy beach that goes past tunnels. To the east there's just a one house before the beach ends at a lava outcrop with an accessible blowhole. There's no convenient public access to the east, and limited access to the west, so it really felt like our own beach. The surf was a little choppy right in front but definately usable just a hundred yards to the west. It's not a good beach for toddlers, but less than a half mile west there's a baby beach (a tough hike with toys).

  This is one of our favorite hideaway locations on Kauai My husband and I have spent many gr8 holidays here listening to the waves lap on the shore (right out off the lanai), collecting shells and evening swims, looking for the baby monk seals and the whale watching is amazing as well. Even when the weather isn't too good the storms that roll in are pretty fantastic to watch. The location for us is handy to all of the hidden surf, snorkeling and diving spots on the north shore and the amazing hiking trails as well. With Hanalei Township close by everything we would want or need is just a short drive away. The accommodation is very well set out and presented with lot's of room for friends and family to enjoy without tripping over each other or very secluded just for two :) We totally recommend this beautiful beachfront home for any occasion/holiday but especially somewhere to hideaway with your special some one.   Feels like a private beach; house right on the ocean. Seemed like hype until we arrived. Oh my goodness! This is for real. The home was built before requirements to be set back from the water. Accommodations for 14 people with rooms laid out to maximize privacy. Every room has a beautiful ocean view. Plenty of comfortable common areas. Two well-equipped suites and master bedroom area on the main floor. Separate staircases reach two identical areas, each with two bedrooms and a bath. The pictures do not do justice to the comfort of the home, and beauty of the area and the view. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the owners.
