Our beautifully renovated condo at Kauhale Makai is the perfect place to come enjoy all that Maui has to offer. The first floor condo (#128) has tile floor throughout, tile shower, new furnishings and is in immaculate condition.
The kitchen features granite counters, new appliances and is very well stocked.

The condo is situated on the preferred "interior" side of the Plumeria Building with easy access to the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, gas bbqs and putting green. Nicely landscaped gardens surround the Resort. Kamaole Beaches are a short two mile drive south of Kauhale Makai. Guests are welcome to use the tennis courts adjacent to the resort. Kauhale Makai is centrally located near several golf courses, diving spots, restaurants and shopping. For those interested in windsurfing, kitesurfing or stand-up paddling this is a GREAT location, launch in front of the property!! Your personal concierge is available in the Lobby to assist you with booking your Maui activities.

This was our first Maui experience and we want to return next year and to this same condo unit. The suite(that is what we felt like) was beautifully appointed. The ground floor lanai was a delight for early morning coffee and bird watching. Cocktails and bbq on the lanai was a paradise fit for just us. Kitchen even had some spices, every cooking utensil and pot you could want. The front desk staff and the concerierge gave us first rate service. Our only regret is that we stayed one week, we would definitely return for 2 weeks. You can not go wrong this choice. Sally and Fred Kros

When researching for a place to stay in Maui, for an extended period of time, I wanted to stay somewhere where I did not have to worry about anything. This condo did not disappoint - it is everything it is said to be. The unit is excellent in every way. Recent updates made me feel right at home with the kitchen having everything I could possibly want and need. The lanai is a lot larger than it shows in photos and it's very conveniently located to access all the amenities. The location in the building is second to none - the pool, barbecue and beach are all so close. For shopping - a short walk to grocery stores and other shops is all that is needed. In all honesty, I felt so comfortable I did not want to leave the property (I ended up staying seven weeks in total). I would highly recommend this unit to future guests. The owners made every step of the process, from excellent directions to checking in and out, very easy. I would return here in the future - I just have to find the time to get away again. We spent 10 days in February! We had been to HI before and stayed in hotels. Never again! This condo was immaculate and obviously recently remodeled and in good taste I must say. We were in the middle of everything. We had many family members who stayed in different condos in that area and I must say ours was the best by far. The first floor lanai was right off the pool and barbeque area and got the evening sun. It was lovely to sit out on the lanai after my morning walk and have my tea. The kitchen was well-appointed with dishes, pots, pans, blender, toaster, just everything should you decide to stay home and cook in. The grills were cleaned daily and were immaculate.There are a number of great restaurants in the area and close by grocery stores and even a "flea market" with in walking distance where I was able to purchase all the fresh fruit and veggies that I could carry home. The gardens were beautiful inside and out. Alex was a lovely lady, she was responsive to all our inquiries usually within 24 hours via e-mail. the front desk people were helpful, kind and informative. We are planning to return in February 2012 and want to rent this great little place again.

My girlfriend and I spent about 10 days on Maui, and this was an excellent location to see basically everything. The town, Kihei, has a lot going on if you enjoy a nice low-key vacation, and it's near a couple larger highways which will take you around Maui itself. (not so near that you can hear them, mind) Kihei has several beaches scenic beaches, very good restaurants, and bars, all pretty reasonably priced compared to other areas on the island. We rented a car, because not everything is walking distance, and also because we planned to see most of the island. The condo itself was extremely well appointed. I like cooking, and I'm not a huge fan of eating out every night, and this condo had a very complete kitchen, so I was able to get creative with some island cuisine. The property is on the ground floor, which actually was very convenient; it made it very easy to step outside onto the patio and eat breakfast in the Maui breeze, or step out and use one of the nearby gas grills, or walk an extra 15 feet to the pool / jacuzzi area and enjoy the sun. We also walked along the beach behind the condo building, which was an excellent place to watch the sun set. The unit was very clean, had a lot of vacation amenities (extra towels! Food coolers!), and had a very nice flat-screen TV for the evening we decided to watch a DVD. The furniture was comfortable, and the unit had a very functional air-conditioning unit (which is a must have in tropical climates). Overall I would heartily recommend this property, both as a gateway to Maui and as a delightful vacation rental.

The condo was excellant, it was as good or better than the pictures on VRBO.. The owner is lovely, contacts you before you purchase, when you purchase and while you are there. I loved the main floor as you were on the ground floor for coming and going, sat out on a landscaped Lanai area and had easy access to the BBQ's. The kitchen is really well stocked. Easy access on arrival with a lock box and next day check in. What could be better. The unit itself is upgraded with granite kitchen counters, A/C and fans. Great bathroom shower. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends. We we'ren't on the Kamole swim beaches but access to snorkling at Black Rock around Lanaini, Kayaking at Komole just past Komole Sands condos on the right side (go to the gravel parking lot) and whale watching if you go early March/April is a good time. So check this place out. We could not have been happier with the unit, the renters and the accessability to other places in town or up island. Great Place Janice and Jim, Calgary Alberta

We stayed here recently and had a great time. The condo is clean, updated and has a very well supplied kitchen- a home away from home. There are beach chairs , coolers and a boogie board for your use while there. Having the owners live in the complex makes for a better experience I think, since they can help with your needs if necessary. We found Alex to be very friendly and helpful, bringing us a candle incase the power went out during a storm.( There was also a flashlight in the unit so we didn't need the candle but I thought that was a nice gesture). Would have no problem recommending a stay with these owners and this unit.

We stayed here for a week and loved it! We like the Kihei area and this was a great ground floor unit with easy access to the BBQ's and Pool area. Everything you could want in a unit! Quiet, relaxing but quick to get to the local areas to go snorkeling, catch a boat ride or just hang out on one of the many beaches around Kihei.

We have rented this condo many times and have thoroughly enjoyed our stays here. The location is perfect for long walks on the beach and all amenities such as shopping, grocery stores and restaurants are a short drive away. The unit is shaded, out of the wind and on the best side of the building. Only peace and quiet here. The condo is immaculate and being constantly upgraded. The owners are extremely helpful in making sure everything is in order. We are looking forward to our next visit.

We have been staying in this unit for a month each summer for the past 15 years. Each year there is a new upgrade to the carpet, or remodeled kitchen and bathroom, new appliances, etc. This is the best unit in this complex by far - it looks like a brand new unit. The complex has ocean frontage, and has easy access to golf courses, resort properties with luau's, and stores and shopping. If you stay on the west end of the island (Lahina, Kaanapali, Napili, Kapalua, etc.)you can have your access to the airport blocked by an accident on the honopiilani highway, or a brush fire on the pali. We have seen the road closed on several occasions and visitors missed their flights. Kihei has easy access to the entire island. I would highly reccommend this complex and especially unit #128.
