  • Wonderful place to stay!

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our get-a-way in Lost Trails Retreat. The house was exceptionally clean, and well taken care of! The kitchen was well stocked and equipped with great appliances. We were surrounded by beautiful scenery. We enjoyed using the snowshoes provided to walk on the trails. It was wonderful being close to Big Sky skiing, yet not having to be at the Big Sky Resort. If we are ever in the Big Sky area again we will stay at Lost Trails Retreat."

  • Great place

"We stayed here with 2 other family members for our first visit to Glacier National Park. The condo was very clean, nicely furnished and had all the needed amenities from laundry detergent, garbage bags, kitchen appliances and utensils, games, books, etc. Very nice view of golf course where we even saw deer in the early morning and late evening. Will definitely recommend this condo to anyone we know going to this area."

  • Another Perfect Week at this Amazing Home

"This is the fourth year we have stayed at this location on Flathead Lake. Each year we enjoy it more than the year before. We have stayed at other properties on the lake and keep coming back here because of the location, the amazing home and all that goes with it. This is a special home in a great location that provides access to everything the area has to offer, by car or boat. This year our children and grandchildren were able to go with us again. The way the bedrooms and bathrooms are located and set up in the house, there is plenty of room for everyone and separation for the kids at bedtime if you need that. There is also a huge playroom/TV room on the second level, with lots of fun toys for the kids to play with. And the third floor "Crow's Nest" is an amazing bedroom and provides a view that is truly exceptional. The deck, yard, BBQ, swimming area, dock, hot tub, kayaks and water toys will provide everything you need to enjoy a beautiful summer day outside on the lake. I can't think of anything Robin and Patti have overlooked."

  • Long Weekend in MONTANA.. Yes.. Montana!

"Had heard about the property from a friend.. Honestly wasn't overly interested in going to Montana .. But the wife convinced me we should "try it out" so we decided to go OCT 9-14 th for a long weekend . The property was perfect .. The "Hemingway " suite was enormous.. with priceless views .. 2 days in the wife found " a second bathroom " in our enormous bathroom .. Hidden behind some artwork.. We were fascinated and a little baffled we "discovered" it 2 days into our stay! The Jacuzzi tub was awesome... And the wife LOVED the area she was provided to get ready each day.. It's excessive! TV room .. Attached to the library .. One bedroom had a balcony with chairs for a couple to hang out on... Another room had a 2nd floor cement patio with its own outdoor fireplace.. The kitchen opened up to a sunken living room .. So as we cooked meals .. We could converse with friends ... Everything we needed .. Pots ..pans... Silverware .. All avail for us to use... Lighters and wood for the fireplace... You want it .. We found it .. Workable bar with mini fridge . And wine cooler in the living room... Truly you need to look at the pics .. They don't lie.. I could go on for days about the "Sun House" .. There were rooms we didn't even use ... Place is enourmous.. Location was an A+ .. 30 or so minutes from Yellowstone entrance ... Where we spent an AMAZING day... Saw Elk ..lotsss of deer ... Coyote.. Buffalo .. And a GRIZZLY bear!!!! Took literally 1000 pics in 3 days ! Groceries ... Bakery and an "Old Saloon" 2 minutes away... We had 3 couples total in the house and had too much room .. Wether we gathered at the outdoor fire pit or sat inside at the fireplace playing games it was relaxing for all .. We will be back to the Sun House... Yes MONTANA!!! We NOW love MONTANA!!"

Montana Travel Tips

Things to See and Do at Montana Vacation Rentals

Montana cabin rentals and homes offer up wide open spaces, tall mountain ranges and abundant wildlife. It is often referred to as the Big Sky State because of its wilderness appeal. Perhaps Montana's most famous natural attraction is Yellowstone National Park and the tall geyser named "Old Faithful" that erupts on a regular basis. Yellowstone vacation rentals are close to great wildlife viewing. It is home to grizzlies, wolves, and various species of deer, elk and other antelope. There are several hiking trails in the park and one of the highlights is the hike up the Iceberg Trail. The route visits the Ptarmigan Falls and then traverses the southern shore of the glacial lake known as Iceberg Lake.

For those that enjoy water sports, Montana cabin rentals along the river offer many adventure opportunities. There is whitewater rafting, paddling and fishing to be enjoyed. Another favorite way to explore the landscapes is on horseback. There are numerous road and mountain bike trails available for cyclists. For technical riders, there are miles of forest and mountain single-track sections. When the season turns, it isn't the end of the adventures. Instead, when the snows blanket the mountains, it attracts even more visitors. Montana cabins are also close to some of the best ski resorts in North America and they are also some of the more affordable to visit. There are miles of downhill ski runs catering to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. There are also Nordic and cross country skiing trails and various snowboarding terrain parks. Snowshoeing is a popular pastime and many of the parks offer winter snowshoe hikes. There are also snow coach tours that take you sightseeing and wildlife viewing in the cozy comfort of a heated all-terrain vehicle.

Visitors to Montana Cabins

If you love getting away to cabin rentals, Montana has your number: the state attracts those who like wide open spaces, nature and the outdoors. It is the ideal adventure playground in all seasons for those that enjoy an active vacation. In the winter months, many people are attracted to the many excellent ski resorts. It is also a great family vacation destination, especially if you want to instill in your children an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. There are also strong western traditions with rodeos and shows taking place throughout the season.

Seasons to Visit Montana

There are two favorite seasons for booking Montana vacation homes, depending on your interests. The summer months are generally the most popular for those who want to participate in outdoor activities and wildlife viewing. It is also the ideal time of year to explore some of the cultural and historic attractions. The peak season in summertime is during July. The second most popular travel season coincides with the annual snowfalls. The ski season starts in December and, if the weather conditions are good, can last until April.
