Aloha and welcome to our beautiful beach front condo at the Hale Mahina Resort!

In the Hawaiian language, Hale Mahina means "house of the moon" and this spacious elegant home is truly a slice of the heavens. Our condominium is located on a fabulous piece of paradise, on the beach less than 50 feet from the ocean's soothing waves. Fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean.

Step out onto your own private lanai for a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Tropical ocean breezes, beautiful, picture perfect sunsets and panoramic views of the islands of Lanai and Molokai—what a way to enjoy your vacation!

In the winter months, you will be able to watch the humpback whales playing in the ocean. We have a sandy beach in front of our condo. Roll out of bed and walk down to the beach with your snorkel gear and swim with the tropical fish and turtles, there’s a family of five that visit most mornings.

Swim in the beautiful pool and enjoy the hot tub. You can also barbecue next to the pool.

Immaculately clean and well-maintained, this spacious, Fourth-story condo has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, as well as dining on your own private ocean front lanai. A home away from home in paradise!

To make your stay as enjoyable and easy as possible, we have provided the unit with snorkeling gear (adults and children), beach umbrellas and chairs, ice chests, boogie boards, beach mats and other amenities. We have also included board games and card games.

Maui, also called the Valley Isle, has the potential to offer visitors dreamlike, even surreal, experiences: floating weightless in a rainbow sea of tropical fish, standing on top of a 10,000 foot volcano, watching the sunshine color the sky, or listening to the raindrops in a bamboo forest.

Maui is home to some of the world’s best golf courses. Two of the world’s most famous golf destinations with two courses each are within two miles of our condo, each with countless panoramic views of the ocean and island scenery. Kaanapali Golf Courses are located in the Kaanapali Beach Resort in West Maui, less than two miles south of our condo. Kapalua Golf courses are located less than two mile north of the condo.

World class shopping awaits at whaler’s village in Kaanapali and in the historic town of Lahaina, just five mile further south. Often called the "jewel in the crown of Maui," Lahaina is a destination that is experienced by two million people, or 83% of all Maui visitors, annually.

Lahaina town is the second most visited spot on Maui after beaches

Guestbook comments from the owner

Most relaxing vacation we have ever experienced!

B-404 was the condo we stayed in. It is decorated very nice. Everything we needed was supplied by the owner. The unit does not have air condition but all rooms have overhead fans plus additional fans that can be used if needed. All the rooms have good ventalation and are very comfotable. We slept like a log. The kitchen was well equiped as we ate in most of the time (18 days) we were there. There are plenty of resturants available a short drive away that have excellent food plus a grocery store near by. There are only 52 units in this complex so it is very quiet. You have an excellent view of the ocean and sunsets from your patio. You do NOT get this in most resorts unless you pay an extravient amount of money. We will be back again and we will recommend B-404 to all of our friends.

The owner also has another unit A-307 which we were able to see while we were there. This unit is a one bedroom and is decorated very nicely. We met a couple staying in this unit from Canada and they were very pleased. Their teen age daughters told their parents that this is one of the best places that they have ever stayed. They are coming back in Dec to stay again in this unit. When my wife and I come back by ourselves or with another couple we would stay in A-307.

We highly recommend either B-404 or A-307 to anyone that wants to experience paradise.

Again, these units have excecellent ocean and sunset views plus a beach, ocean and pool swimming, grass area to relax in in your chase lounges and BBQ's for everyone.

A bit dated unit & building, showing signs of wear & tear, for sure...nice views from the balcony.

The West Maui location is great & is a peaceful spot. Parking was fine for the rental car. Nice little private beach although no snorkeling potential onsite - you have to go elsewhere in your car to get any kind of fish or coral. Actually, Maui doesn't have a good snorkeling scene anymore - 90% of the coral is bleached & there are hardly any fish nowadays, other than the odd sea turtle here & there. Yikes! It was so much better in yesteryear's gone-by. The actual condo has some problems: There was a MAJOR ANT OUTBREAK on the second floor in the upstairs bathroom. There was a MAJOR SKYLIGHT LEAK in the hall right outside the second floor bathroom where I did my best to help protect the nice laminate floor from serious damage. You advertise one bathtub, but the plug doesn't work so therefore ZERO BATHTUB POTENTIAL - this absolutely needs to be fixed or else you are false-advertising. Living room carpet needs cleaning or replacing as they are dirty. Most of the gear/equipment/chairs for beach use was broken & therefore useless - you might as well throw it all in the garbage & tell guests to bring their own stuff. On the balcony there is a table with a big heavy top weighing easily 100 lbs & it actually FELL OFF because it isn't screwed down properly with no attachment to the base frame. It somehow must have been moved by prior guests or cleaners & not been in line or in kilter sitting on the frame & suddenly, without any human-touch whatsoever, it went belly-up by the high November wind. My 81 year old mother was in bare feet within 3 feet of the table when it happened & if that had fallen on her she never would have walked again. Brutal. I would say you should invest some money into your unit before you get hit by a major lawsuit. High price paid was not commensurate with the actual disappointing experience. The last place I stayed was just up the same street as yours a couple of blocks on the other side of the same road, & it was less than half of your price, & the unit was way nicer/newer, albeit without a ocean view. I can't recommend Hale Mahina B404 to other Canadians - sorry.

We loved this spot

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week here with our two young adult children and could not have been happier. The location is perfect with Kapalua/Napili very close to the north, and Kaanapali a very short distance to the south. We actually walked each morning to the beach path that goes along the beach in front of all the Kaanapali hotels. We did explore other beaches, but the one right in front of the condo was as nice or better than any of the famous ones. We saw more sea turtles in front of the condo than anyplace else we went in Hawaii, including resting on the beach in front every day. Lahaina is a few minutes drive to the south, but we liked this area even more.

Everything we needed was provided in the condo. A trip to Costco gave us supplies to eat many meals there and save a lot of money. Breakfast on the lanai each morning watching the turtles swim by was priceless. The complex is very quiet and encourages this atmosphere, so this is not a place for people looking to have a wild time partying. For those of us looking for a nice place to relax, and go to bed and get up early to enjoy, it was perfect.

Best experience ever

  • 5 of 5

We spent 10 wonderful days At Dennis and Kathy's beautiful place in August. It was an out of the world experience. This is certainly the best property in that area and has the best beach attached to the property. The condo is beautiful and the view is amazing. Excellent view from the balcony. We had our morning tea every day and our meals sitting in the balcony. The beds are very comfortable . The best vacation in the last 20 years . The pool and Jacuzzi add to the charm and there are bbq grills right on the beach. You can snorkel on the beach below and see a lot of sea life. We will certainly go back and stay there.

Owner's Response: Doc, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and for your nice words. I don't request reviews because it seems like an invasion to the traveler trying to get back in the swing of everyday life. So again, thanks for taking the time, it does help other travelers. Feel free to contact me If there was anything that you noticed during your stay that needs attention or something more the condo could use. It insures the next guest has a pleasant stay as well. Chris and Janine's wonderful holiday in Maui

  • 5 of 5

Well Dennis and Kathy, you have the most wonderful place at Hale Mahina, condo B404. We arrived at night and were so pleased when we walked in to a place more fantastic than we imagined. In the morning we then saw the view we had and now understood why we could hear the surf so clearly, its so close,

funny at first we thought the surf sound was loud as we had the screens only open, but night two it is the most soothing sound you will hear and unfortunately miss when you leave.

Everything is there, day gear like all your masks and fins, boogy boards, cooler bags, you don't need to buy anything but ice, chiller packs are already in the freezer !

The condo is so well set out, could be for two couples, or mum dad and the kids. The main bedroom, the loft has a view of the water when you wake up and you don't have to get out of bed for that, on suit is well appointed, nice shower. Didn't try the other on suite but our guest said it was great. kitchen was fantastic, huge fridge and everything you would ever want.

You can come to this idillic place and can just chill out at the pool and beach or head off on a day trip and come back for the pool and beach. We saw so many turtles at "our beach" they swim with you, or more go by you. Can't say enough about Terry who is filling in for Larry at present, just as strict and that's the way it should be, this is what helps make the place so special. Ask Terry for the $15 tempory membership to the Lahaina Yacht Club or if you are a member of a yacht club from home, bring your membership card with you, they welcome with you with open arms and the food and drink is extemley good and well priced, right in the middle of town and over the water ! If you want to party hard, please go somewhere else or will be dissapointed and leave this place for the people who strive for piece and quiet.

We chose to have a week at Hale Mahina, Maui first and then back to Waikiki for a week. This had been our first visit to Maui and we had been to Waikiki last year and decided to come again and be adventurous and go to maui as well.

Next year is already planned, two weeks at the Hale Mahina, thank you Dennis and Kathy your place has made this our best holiday. Didn't really want to tell the world and keep it to the lucky people who have been and will return, but you guys deserve it, we will be recommending your place to all our good like minded friends. Cheer from Chris and Janine.

PS the best sunsets ever seen with the palm trees and beac

Look no further...amazing loft condo.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience at this condo. Dennis was friendly, prompt in returning my calls and made the booking process easy and flexible plus didn't hesitate to give lots of advice on things his family loves to do and places to shop and eat. When we arrived the condo was immaculately clean, fresh towels, and very comfortable bedding. There was some basic condiments and a small welcome package of coffee, brochures, etc. We met Larry, the property manager right away. I must admit we were somewhat nervous in booking, having 2 children, ages 6 and 9 based on previous reviews I had read concerning how strict Larry is. It's all nonsense. He was wonderful with our kids, never hesitating to say Hi and even gave us free tickets to see the PGA tour. The grounds are immaculate and quiet, a perfect place to unwind. The pool was small and cold so the kids didn't spend much time in it but the consistent waves and private beach in front of the condo made a perfect playground instead. There's even some small tidal pools that my son loved to check out further down the beach. The beds in this unit are so comfortable. Too many times my husband and I have returned from a vacation with bad backs...these beds are top of the line. The water pressure in all of the showers is great and we never ran out of hot water. The unit has no air conditioning but with the mountain tradewinds and the abundance of fans it was never a problem cooling off at night. This building is silent as of 10-11pm at night, so not a place to stay if you like to party but wonderful if you're in Maui to relax...especially with young children. There is an organic farmers market, the best coffee shop ever(Bad Ass Coffee Co.) and playground within walking distance plus a fresh fish market and huge, economical grocery store within less than a 5minute drive away.We enjoyed meals at Castaway Cafe(Fairly inexpensive, delicious and oceanfront) at Kaanapali Villas and Dukes at the Honuakai. If fast food is your thing McDonalds was less than 5minutes the opposite way.I also can't forget to mention the whales that we watched all day everyday right from our balcony or the beach.Plus there is a family of endangered green sea turtles that feed daily in the rocks in front of the condo, you can't miss them. If you're looking for a central, safe and mellow condo with a beautiful ocean view you can't go wrong with this unit.
