This lovely, bright Greek Revival home, nestled into Chipman Cove dunes, combines yesteryear's simplicity with all of today's comforts. Large, private yard - steps from the water.

Summer fun or off-season solitude. Kayak or swim the bay, or walk the beach to the charming town center of Wellfleet with its many art galleries, shops and restaurants. Or, stay and enjoy the sunsets from Adirondack Chairs in the front yard while the kids play with fiddler crabs in the tidepools close-by.

The ultimate Cape Cod experience for families, friends, and lovers. Picture-postcard water views from every room. Includes a well equipped kitchen, patio with barbecue, outdoor table and chairs, Adirondacks, and lounge chairs and your own professional quality volleyball/badminton setup.

The house sleeps a total of seven persons in three bedrooms. Bed room A: One queen; Bedroom B: one queen, one single; Bedroom C: two single beds. You can access Bedroom C either through B or via an outside set of stairs. You can see the water and sky from your bed pillow.

Very crisp and clean, and nicely furnished for a relaxed and perfect vacation for you and your family. Outside hot/cold shower for after-beach rinse-off, or anytime. You can't beat it!

The house is located in the sought after Indian Neck area, off Cove Road. You can walk the coastline either to Indian Neck in one direction or to Wellfleet Center via Uncle Tim's Bridge in the other direction.

Owner info

Year Purchased: 1930

About the owner: I grew up in Maplewood, NJ and moved to Wellfleet full time when I was 20. I have lived here full time for 45 years so I must be 65- Oy! I work in the home care business, caring for over 20 homes and contracting construction and maintenance work.I am also a Real Estate Broker and would be happy to help you find your dream home. My off-time passions are racquetball and fishing. I love my beautiful wife Elisa and my life on the Cape!

Why the Owner Chose Wellfleet, MA, USA:
The home was first purchased by my grandmother in 1930 from Capt.Lorenzo Dow Baker, the founder of United Fruit AKA the Banana King. It was passed to my parents and then to me. I hope to keep it in the family for many more years. We believe it was first built in the late 1700's as a supply store for the fishermen who used the pier that used to be at the end of the road. It was later converted into a Greek Revival Style home @1840. Before the white men took over the area was inhabited by the Wampanoag Tribe. The adjacent dune area has yielded numerous primitive artifacts.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
I am mostly there to work on the place, which I love doing, and it is the perfect place to be when the flats are open for oystering. Slurp! I live with my wife in the highlands of Cove View Rd. about a quarter mile away. But when we are at the house, just looking at the view makes us calm and happy. Our son got married there and it was the most romantic backdrop. We love this place and think you will, too.
