Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
To begin with the reservation process was flawed. The web site showed that it was available, the rental agent emailed that it wasn't then when I called it was available? Too much wasted time. When we arrived we were told to use the Lock Box but were not told that there were 3! A neighbor helped us after he heard us say the code a dozen times. The house was in a great location but could have been cleaner, dirty floor, sand on the dining table and a potato chip on a shelf indicated that it was not cleaned very well. Having no TV was not a problem for us, there was wifi that worked pretty well but if you wanted to read the lighting is inadequate. Had a standing lamp in the LR but was missing a light bulb. The other light bulbs had low wattage so it was difficult to read in the bedrooms. Had to take one bulb from the bedroom, thank goodness I brought a lantern. The lighting above the sink in the bathroom did not work so three women getting ready to go out was difficult since one of the rooms did not have a mirror. There was no hair dryer in the bathroom which was not an issue because we brought one but it should be standard since every hotel supplies one. The kitchen has everything that you would need and then some. Loved the open floor plan making it easy to socialize. Drawers were full of linens and no closets to hang clothes, not too much of an issue for us because we were only there for two nights but those staying a week it could be a problem. I have rented with VRBO for years and this was the first property that was disappointing. Oh, I forgot, we got a knock on the door as one of us were taking a nap and it was a real estate agent wanting to show the house to a group of people in the middle of the day. If we hadn't been there they would have come in with all of our belongings there for the taking. There is definitely a lack of communication with this listing. Even with the minor issues we had a wonderful weekend at the Cape.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at this property and would gladly come back for more fun in the sun!
The location of the house could not be beat! The beach at the end of the road was great, a bit rocky and very small (and shared with the many hotels in the area). The house is within walking distance to numerous great restaurants and bars and only a quick drive to TONS more! We had a minor issue with check in time and also did not receive a refilled propane tank as promised but aside from those minor issues had a great time. The living space is open, clean and exactly how you would expect a beach house to be. The outdoor patio provides a gorgeous view of the beach and sunset! The beds were plentiful and comfortable. We had an awesome stay here and would definitely recommend it!
If you are looking for a place that has easy access to the local Cape Cod attractions, this home is located in a great place. The large West Dennis Beach is about a 5 minute drive, you can rent kayaks and paddle boards to explore the close by Swan River, or you have a very short walk to enjoy the sunsets by the beach. The inside of the quaint cottage was very clean with enough space for 4 kids and 2 adults. We gave feedback on a few outside improvements that should be made, so hopefully the easy fixes will be implemented by your stay. Enjoyable rental home!
Let me start this review by saying that the house is as advertised- small, but cute and it a great location- walking distance to the beach and close to popular restaurants, etc.
That being said, our stay was tainted by a disturbing realization that the house had not been cleaned before we arrived.
After first stepping into the house it looked nice, however as soon as we started looking around it became obvious that no one had been in since the previous guest had left earlier that day- definitely not in rental condition!
We were told very specifically in a confirmation email we received that clean sheets and towels would be provided, as would a small amount of trashbags and toilet paper.
When we arrived, one of the beds was unmade with sand in the sheets.
Used towels were hanging- with tooth paste stains on them.
All the trashcans were filled. There were no trash bags. One of the trashcans in the bedroom even had a dirty diaper in it!
The dishwasher was full with dirty dishes.
There was no toilet paper.
We were pretty disgusted to say the least, but had little options so we went out and bought all our own supplies and cleaned up ourselves. Once we did so we had a great time.
One other strange thing about this house- we were cooking bacon one morning and the smoke alarm went off- there wasn't even any smoke, but we noticed there was no fan over the stove- seems very unsafe.
At any rate, I contacted Vacasa via a telephone upon our arrival and then a couple days later to request a refund or discount. I received an email asking me to explain our experience, which I did in detail. I have yet to hear back- very poor customer service. I certainly would recommend against renting through Vacasa- I will never do so myself again!
We had a lovely time at this beachouse with our daughter and her family- six of us in all. The house was adequate enough space, so close to the ocean and other amenities and we really enjoyed staying here. Very quaint and lovely really.
