Dave and Mary thought of everything down to the beach chairs and beach towels. The location only has a mountain view from inside but it is the third house from the ocean. It is also on the swimable end of Hanalei Beach near the pier. The kitchen had more amenities than we needed, the linens were soft and smooth and the room was spacious. The lanai and outdoor shower were both great. It was very clean and private. The neighborhood is safe and a short bike ride or 10 minute walk to town. There is an aloha spirit here.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+.

My husband and I had a wonderful time in this perfect studio. It is right across the street from the beautiful bay. We rode the bikes to town and used the boogie boards in the bay. The view of the mountains from Hanalei Bay is amazing! We used the outside shower everyday when we came home from hiking or swimming. The mini kitchen was perfect for breakfast each morning before we went out on our exciting adventures. If you want to stay in Hanalei bay this is the place for you. Mahalo David we had a great time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Aloha Lora - Thanks for the review you guys were great guest we enjoyed you staying here hope to see you again soon...... Mahalo David :)

Let me begin by saying this was my first VRBO experience, and what an amazing one it was. This morning was surreal to wake up without the view of endless waterfalls falling from lush green mountains, our friendly gecko, and the sounds of exotic birds calling all around. Beyond the views, the proximity to Hanalei Bay and beach are really a "stone's throw away". My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our 2 year anniversary at this humble abode. With a nice kitchenette, to the hawaiian breeze, it was everything we were looking for and more. I have to say we made sure to take advantage of all the amenities, from BBQn and dinner on the patio, to the beach cruisers, ice chest and outdoor shower. It was a great adventure with access to running trails, kayaking the river, hiking the Na Pali coast, and most importantly for my husband extremely close to some of the best surf breaks in Kauai. Lastly, Dave made us feel right at home. I forgot that we didn't actually live in the studio and were just visiting. Dave gave us all kinds of great recommendations for eating, hiking, and venturing. Thank you Dave and Mary for a truly wonderful time in Kauai! Look forwarding to seeing each other again soon! -Souf & NicoleRecommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Souf & Nicole - you guys were great and what a review.... Aloha David

We stayed at the studio from 8/31/11 - 9/13/11 - We loved the location and Dave and Mary were wonderful hosts and made sure we had whatever we needed to be comfortable. We have stayed in Hanalei many times through the years and want to return here! Loved being able to stroll across the street to Hanalei Bay for the sunshine or the sunsets. It was a great experience! Stayed here for a week in July 2011. Great experience overall. The guest room was clean and well-kept. Bed was comfortable and amenities like outdoor shower (in addition to indoor one), free bikes to use, and private yard with separate entrance were very nice. We enjoyed the cable TV and wi-fi when we had too much sun for the day. Awesome view of the mountains and extremely close proximity to the beach were a major bonus. The only con is that the room is part of a house. So, if you prefer more privacy, it might not be for you. I would highly recommend this place. We'd definitely stay again if in Kauai!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Paul ~ We didn't even know when you were there ~ when I built the house I insulated all the walls and ceiling to keep it private for everyone........... Aloha David

Stayed here for a week in June 2011. Studio is tidy and well-equipped with some seriously awesome views of the hills (waterfalls and all!). Location is approx 5 mins from centre of town, but even closer to the beach!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Dyfan ~ we keep our studio very tidy we even change the bedspread between every guest ~ the 5 min walk can even be shorter if you ride our bikes which we offer our guest at no extra charge and the beach it is right across the street........ aloha David:)

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights towards the end of our Kaua'i vacation - it was perfect for us. The studio was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the owners were friendly and accommodating. We loved that the beach was a few minute walk down the road and we had a great time riding around on the beach cruisers.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I have stayed here three times, most recently in April of 2011. The studio is perfect for two people and has everything you'll need for your stay (beach chairs, towels, bikes, etc.). The outdoor shower and newly expanded porch area (not shown in photo) are awesome. The location can't be beat - quiet and secluded, yet seconds away from the beach and a short walk (and even shorter bike ride) to the shops/restaurants in Hanalei. The owners are great and very accommodating. The place is clean with constantly maintained. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Gordy see you next year...................WD:)

This studio was everything it was advertised to be. The beautiful 2 mile Hanalei Bay is close enough that you can hear the ocean waves at night. Beautiful mountain view from the comfortable bed. Feeling of privacy and wonderful outdoor shower. We could walk or ride the bikes to restaurants, stores, and the Farmer's market. It was so relaxing to not need to drive the car for days at a time. Everything we needed was there. It was clean, well-maintained, and the owner was friendly and helpful. I'm ready to go back and would definitely recommend it to a friend. Some of our favorite eats - Bubba Burgers for Kauai grass-fed beef hamburgers, and Postcards Cafe for a nice, delicious organic dinner. It's worth a drive to have a Billie Holiday pizza at Pau Hana pizza in Kilauea, and stop in Princeville for Lappert's ice cream on the way home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Jan ~ Great review we hope to see you again soon............... Aloha David:)
