Fully Remodeled Ocean Bluff Condo with Incredible Panoramic Views

Bedrooms 2
Space 950 sq. ft.
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

Condominium, 1 Bedroom with Loft, 2 Baths (Sleeps 4)

Honu Cove is a beautiful, top floor condo in the Pali Ke Kua complex in Princeville, Hawaii (unit 227). The unit has panoramic ocean views and has been fully remodeled with hardwood floors, granite counters, stainless steel appliances and all new bathrooms. Embodying the “Aloha Spirit,” this Princeville condo rental offers the most amazing ocean views and has all the amenities you'd expect from a two-bedroom condo. The condo is located on a cliff overlooking a spectacular ocean cove. In Hawaiian language, honu ('HO-nu') is the word for the native green sea turtles that swim off the coasts. At 'Honu Cove' you can see these beautiful animals directly from your lanai as they feed in the cove below. Slightly further out to sea, you can also see Humpback Whales swimming by in the winter months (Dec-Apr). Of course, you come to Kauai to get in the ocean and this complex offers a paved path to the private Hideaways beach below (others have dirt paths which get quite slippery). Once you get here, you'll never want to leave.

The views and beach access alone would be enough for you to fall in love with this incredible home, but there's so much more. This 1 bedroom + loft unit with 2 full bathrooms has undergone a complete top-to-bottom renovation. The unit sleeps 4 comfortably and is ideal for couples or small families. The master bedroom has a gorgeous 4-poster, king bed with beautiful matching dresser and nightstands. The 2nd bedroom in the loft has a queen-sized bed with matching furniture. Each bedroom has a full adjoining bathroom with shower that's been completely remodeled with new granite-top vanities and new tile in the showers and on the floors. There’s a fully-stocked gourmet kitchen with all new cabinetry, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The dining area, with its new glass-top dining set, is surrounded by windows on 3 sides, each with a gorgeous view. Of course, if you’d prefer to eat outdoors, there is a patio table and chairs on the lanai that allows for great views of the ocean.

You may have heard about the famed 'Bali Hai' sunset as viewed from the exclusive St. Regis Princeville Resort 1/2 mile down the road, but you can marvel at this same sunset just a few steps from your condo. As the sun begins to set, grab your beach chairs (provided) and your beverage of choice and walk 50 feet out to a beautiful grassy point where you will view one of the most magnificent sunsets in the world. And, while some postings advertise Bali Hai views directly from the condo, keep in mind that Bali Hai is due west of the complex and, by definition, a "Bali Hai view" means hot afternoon sun in your unit every day. One of the magical qualities of this particular unit is that it has an eastern exposure for cool afternoons on your lanai, but it also has Bali Hai views just 50 feet away. It’s the best of both worlds.

Head just down the road to the luxury of the St. Regis Princeville Resort for dinner, drinks or entertainment. Of course, there’s always the wonderful restaurants in Princeville or Hanalei. Or, maybe you'd rather just enjoy a quiet evening at home and cook a beautiful dinner with fresh fish from the Hanalei Dolphin Fish Market (the freshest fish in town). Sometimes that seems to be the best choice of all.

About John and Brenda

Hello and welcome to Honu Cove. We're your hosts, John & Brenda, and we're truly excited to share our newly remodeled vacation rental with you. Please surf around our website and you'll see what we mean. For more photos, check out our website at the link.

John and Brenda purchased this condo in 2008

Why John and Brenda chose Princeville

We purchased this condo simply because it absolutely had the most expansive ocean views we've ever seen. When we bought it, the unit was pretty run down (as many condo units are after being on the rental market for years), so we did a complete top-to-bottom remodel of the entire unit. Now it is gorgeous with hardwood floors, gourmet kitchen, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and fully renovated bathrooms. It's a gorgeous home-away-from-home for us and we're sure you'll love it too.

What makes this condo unique

Honu Cove is a condo situated on a cliff above a picturesque ocean cove where giant Green Sea Turtles ('Honu' in Hawaiian) frequently swim and feed on the tender seaweed that grows on the rocks. Slightly further out to sea, Humpback Whales regularly swim by during the winter months. You can view this amazing wildlife from your own lanai (balcony) or even from the kitchen table. Then, from the master bedroom, there are views of deep green mountains and waterfalls. Just across the cove, you can see the 7th green/8th tee of the famed Troon Makai golf course. Simply put, the amazing views and opportunities for wildlife viewing from this condo cannot be paralleled anywhere.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for sharing your condo for us and so many others who have enjoyed the breathtaking views. The minute we came down the steps -- wow, absolutely beautiful! We travel a lot, and this has to be one of the best views. Thank you for all of the details you've provided: the beach chairs, the ice chest, the umbrella. You even have beach towels. Also, we enjoy cooking and your knives were very sharp. The kitchen was well-supplied, and the pots and pans are the same ones I have at home. We even saw a beautiful rainbow this morning to complete the trip.

A beautifully appointed condo with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We first stayed at this condo in July of 2015 and loved it so much, we returned again in July of 2017. It's not often a vacation rental lives up to the pictures but this one does and actually exceeds them. Everything in the condo is of the highest quality and very well organized. But what beats all of that is the views. Every morning we awoke and had coffee on the lanai and relaxed to the sights and sounds of the ocean and birds. Every evening, we walked to the edge of the bluff and watched the sun set and light up Hanalei Bay and the mountains in gorgeous colors.

Snorkeling is a moderate walk down a path on the property to Pali Ke Kua Beach. It's right next to Hideaway Beach and has a great variety of fish and turtles. This spot is only accessible to resident/visitors of Pali Ke Kua and rarely has more than 10 people there.

The condo is appointed with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxed stay. Since our last visit, the owners even added binoculars to view the turtles in the cove below. It's the attention to details like this that make the condo stand out.

As we left the property to go back to the airport, our teenagers were already asking when we would be returning to stay in the condo for a third time. That's high praise coming from them!

Simply put - 5 star condo with 5 star views!

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect in every way. The views were amazing, the condo was amazing. The location was amazing. I literally have no complaints about this property. I was going to talk about no AC in the house, but honestly after the first night of getting use to the humidity and opening up the house the breeze was perfect and we even woke up cold most mornings. Night time can be a tiny bit warm but not bad at all to even complain about no AC. We went down to the private beach (mind you - it is a STEEP incline and the pics don't do that justice) just think of the pics you see of the ocean views from the condo itself ... you have to get down that far somehow ... and its quite the incline so be prepared for that ... but anyway we saw TWO sea turtles swimming along in the private beach where the snorkeling in PERFECT! My 9 year old squealed with excitement when he saw his first one. I got it on GoPro and will forever cherish that memory. So when they say they have seen turtles every time ... literally ... that was our case ... every time we snorkeled down there we saw turtles. The house is furnished perfectly. Everything is clean and new. The showers and bathrooms are first class. Again, I cannot speak highly enough of this place. I will be back ... many many many more times. North Shore is the way to go. Hanalei is only a few minutes away and we spent a lot of time there. Lots of food options too. I didn't find the food prices as crazy as some were making it out to be. Milk was double what you pay here in AZ but for the most part it was only 10-15$ more per meal .. for example if I am use to paying 40 for my family of 5, I would pay 50-55$ for us there when eating out at any of the local spots (not counting resorts) Resorts are crazy expensive, but I am talking the normal spots in town etc.

Ideal Hawaiian Setting

  • 5 of 5

This condo couldn't be more perfectly situated to have a picturesque vacation spot. While we stayed with our family of 5 it would be a beautiful location for a romantic get-away as well. The condo is decorated and finished with high quality standards and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Each morning I would sit on the lanai and watch the sunrise while drinking my coffee. At the same time I was able to observe the ocean as it reached the shoreline. Just a few steps away from the condo we would walk on a bluff and see Hanalei Bay and watch the sunset. A peaceful location for a vacation.

The location in Princeville is on the north side of Kauai and it is a great area for active vacationers as well as those wanting to have a leisurely time. The only downside is grocery shopping. There are two primary grocers in the area and they are very expensive. A suggestion would be to stop in Kapaa at the Safeway or other grocery stores and stock up there.

We will absolutely stay here again when we return to Kauai. Aloha!

Perfect Condo in a Perfect Spot on a Perfect Island

  • 5 of 5

If you have chosen Kauai for your vacation then you know what you're doing. Now choose this condo for you and your partner and you will be more than happy. Gorgeous views from the balcony, living room and dining area. Airy and tastefully decorated. An updated kitchen that's well stocked. Beautifully landscaped property with a nice pool. Close to Princeville markets and restaurants and a 10 minute drive down to Hanalei. The only slight drawback is that it is a steep walk down to the rather rocky (private) beach. (Bring reef shoes when you come to Hawaii). We spent two perfect weeks there and we will come back!

This condo will not disappoint!

  • 5 of 5

This condo is AMAZING! Pali Ke Kua is centrally located to both Hanalei, Kilauea, as well as the various beaches that make the North side so wonderful. Upon entering this unit, you get that "WOW" factor when you realize the pictures provided via website exceed your expectation of the often can you say that? The unit has been fully upgraded and equipped with no compromise to quality. Although the unit does not face Bali Hai (which is just a stroll around the corner), this unit has a fantastic view of a beautiful cove, and gets wonderful trade winds throughout the day (very much appreciated after a day in the sun!). Pali Ke Kua's beach is accessible via paved path. This beach offers great snorkeling and tidepools.

We travelled with another couple to Kaua'i and this condo was perfect! It had beautiful views, was well-maintained (spacious, yet also providing privacy when needed), beautifully decorated throughout and had a wonderful location. Others had suggested we stay on the south end of the island, but all four of us agreed that we preferred the north side more. The rental company went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, had maps, etc. It was a fabulous week & we would highly recommend this condo.
