This is a great location in the Old Seagrove community, shaded by magnolia and live oak trees. Neighborhood beach access is about 150 yards down the unpaved road. Several restaurants, markets and shops nearby. Watercolor Crossing and Publix grocery store are less than a mile away. You can walk to Seaside and explore the shops there, too.

The house easily accommodates a family gathering or a multi-family vacation with lots of space on two floors. The interior is bright and colorful with large living areas on each floor. The house has high speed internet service and WiFi. Upstairs is main living and dining area, full kitchen, laundry room with washer and dryer. Large deck and screened porch on south side extends the upstairs living area. Upstairs are three bedrooms (master king with attached full bath, guest king and guest queen share a large full bath). Downstairs is large family room with second refrigerator, sink and microwave and access to pool area. Downstairs has second master bedroom with full bath, king guest room with full bath, bunk room with full bathroom. All bedrooms and living areas have cable TV. The family room has a queen sofa sleeper.

Upstairs living and dining room has hardwood flooring; upstairs bedrooms have carpeted floors. Upstairs baths have porcelain tile flooring. Downstairs flooring is porcelain tile in all rooms including bathrooms.

The large private pool (16 x 32) is surrounded by a tall privacy fence and can be heated on request. There is an outdoor shower near the pool. Parking is available for four cars, including two carport spaces. Saturday to Saturday rental only during Summer season.

Why The Owner chose Seagrove Beach

For years, we travelled to beaches in the Southeast for summer vacations and weekend trips. The South Walton area has some of the best beaches and a sophisticated small town atmosphere. We bought this house in Old Seagrove because of the 'old Florida' neighborhood feel, with shade trees, sandy streets and limited traffic. Its near enough to all the beach activities but yet quiet and relaxing.

What makes this house unique

We like to try new restaurants and there are several great places to eat in the Seagrove Beach area. There is fresh seafood from a local market to cook at home, too. The pool is big enough to swim laps or do 'water yoga'. In the afternoon, we can take a short stroll to the beach and relax under an umbrella by the ocean or walk down the beach in the soft, white sand.

Family consisting of 8 adults and 5 children(under 7)enjoyed this property. Location is great: close to beach access(quiet area of the beach, too); fabulous pool; two living areas including two full size refrigerators; plenty of bedrooms and baths for everyone. Management company very responsive to issues that arose. Minor "items" prevented the excellent rating; however, would rent this property again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for a very fair review. This guest did report specific 'items' to the management company and they were addressed quickly. We do try to keep this house and the property in top condition. A beach house does get a lot of wear and tear during the summer season and we welcome guests' comments on things that need attention and things that are going well. We already have plans for repairs and replacements after this summer season and hope the guests will come back and be pleased with changes.

We have vacationed in this area for the past 5 years and this is by far the least satisfactory house we have rented. The home needs some serious updating, particularly in the kitchen where a disposal would be a good start. The downstairs smelled like mildew and the steps to go down there can kindly be described as treacherous. The house was less than clean when we arrived and the trash receptacles outside smelled like they had not been emptied in weeks. On a positive note, the pool is great and well kept and the deck outside is delightful. Despite the less than ideal conditions, the location cannot be beat...a short walk to and from the beach and close to shops and restaurants. I hesitated in writing a review but as I started to make plans for this summer, I thought others may benefit. We will be returning to the area but not to this house.

Owner's Response: I regret that this guest did not enjoy their stay and wish that they had addressed their concerns immediately and directly to the management company during their stay. The management company and we, the owners, do want to provide a place where guests can stay in comfort. The mildew smell was resolved this past September, immediately after the summer rental season when we replaced the old carpet with new porcelain tile throughout the downstairs. New guttering now carries rain from heavy downpours away from doors so that it cannot creep inside. The spiral stairway between the upper and lower floors is quite safe but can be difficult for older guests. Garbage pickup is every Monday and Thursday, every week. If there is a problem with garbage when a guest arrives, then guests should call the management company right away and they will deal with it. They are a very reputable and respected company that has provided us with great service. As for the housecleaning, the management company replaced the cleaning crew at this house in September. If the house is ever less than perfectly clean when a guest arrives, contact the management company and they will promptly send over a team to correct any problems. As for this guest's comments about the kitchen, all appliances are less than three years old. Granite counters, new sink, faucet and paint were installed two years ago. We found that a disposal caused more maintenance problems so chose to go without that. The kitchen flooring is scheduled to be replaced this Spring before guests arrive. I am thankful that this guest was able to enjoy the pool and the decks at the house. The location is great and as we continue the renovation plans each year we hope that our guests can enjoy a relaxing and comfortable stay. But if ever they feel that something is amiss, the management company is ready to deal with whatever problems they report.

I have been vacationing at "Away from it All" for the past 3 years. I love the short convenient walk to the beach and wonderful amenities that this home offers. It is very spacious and private. I only wish I could visit more often!!

Great Vacation Every Year

We have been vacationing with three other families in Seagrove every summer for the past five years. This is a great home for large families or groups of friends. There is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and large enough rooms for everyone to eat together and watch television or play games. The pool is a huge hit with the children and adults alike. The perfect ending to a day spent at the beach. The location is great...short walking distance to Seaside and tons of wonderful restaurants.

I would recommend this beach home to any large family or group of friends looking for a fun, easy, and convenient trip to one of the prettiest beaches in Florida.

Below Expectations

Our family vacationed in SeaGrove the last week of July the area is beautiful and so are the beaches we enjoyed both. The house was very disappointing and run down with a little work it could be so nice. When we arrived the cleaning people had not finished cleaning and our whole family waited for 2 1/2 hours for them to finish and not even an apology for delaying us. We had to call them the next morning because our 9 month old knees were so dirty from playing on the rug they had to clean the carpets. The bugs were everywhere and I know it is a wooded area they should not be crawling on your pillows and on the kitchen counter they need to have a bug person spray more often.

The screened in patio was nice but we could not open the doors because they were stuck, we called maintenance again and they fixed it best they could but it was so hard to open the doors we rarely used the deck at all. The pool funiture was broke and dirty as I sat down my foot went through the chair and cut my foot bad enough that I had to be put on antibiotics, the funiture on the deck was dirty and the funiture in the house was old and needing updates.

We contacted the owner when we came home only to be told that her son visited not long after we left and saw nothing wrong with the place, I am not sure what expectations he has but we expected more and we wanted the place to be a little cleaner and to be able to use the funiture around the house and not to have to check our luggage when we returned home for bugs.

I would not recommend this home because of all the work and updates it needs, I think they need to do some work on the house by replacing carpet and funiture and until they do that I would not recommend renting this home.

Owner's Response: This guest contacted me after her stay with her complaints and I did try to resolve these with her directly. When we leave at the beginning of the summer, the house is in top condition. We depend on the management service to look after the cleaning and maintenance of the house for the enjoyment of our guests over the summer. It seems they did not do an adequate job. We received no reports of problems from the management company over the summer. When we came down to inspect the house in August, we found more than normal wear and tear after a very wet summer. This is now being addressed. Each year we invest in updates to the house. Last year, we replaced the roof, pool heater and filter. Two years ago, we updated the kitchen with all new appliances, counters, sink and faucet. This week, we replaced the screen porch table and chairs. This winter, we plan to replace flooring and update interior rooms. While we do thank this guest for identifying problems, we do have an overall plan for maintaining the house in good condition. We also make an effort to have furnishings that are attractive and pleasing to our guests, but not everyone can be satisfied. The house is treated regularly for pests. This year, with the unusual rain, there may have been more bugs but the pest control service treated for them immediately after the report. I found only two bugs (and dead) during our stay. As for the pool furniture, on inspection we found two broken chaises and nine good ones. The broken ones will be replaced as usual each year. I am sorry this guest hurt her foot, but with normal usage these chaises are very sturdy and safe.

What a wonderful vacation...

What a wonderful vacation with our family! This property is fabulous! It has everything you need to complete your vacation. The owners have thought of it all. You have all of the comforts of home. The home is very clean and decorated with the relaxing feeling of being "Away From It All". Would highly recommend this home for a family reunion or quiet retreat.
